Destiny 2 |OT2| Leviathan Wakes (Spoiler Tag ALL Raid Discussion)

Gr1mLock

Passing metallic gas
FWC scout Pledias Corrector comes with lightweight, hcr and rampage. So far I'm liking FWC's offerings more than the other two factions.

I never did any D1 raids but overall I think I enjoyed Leviathan. In total it took me around 6 hours to beat on my first time. Took 4 hours to get to Calus and we called it a night and then took my group last night 2 hours to kill him. Now that I know the mechanics and with a crew that has done it before also I think we could probably do it in 2.

I guess I got lucky with RNG during the raid though so maybe I would have a different opinion if I didn’t get a chest and helmet.

Lmao even during the Flashpoint, Io is empty half the time when I try to do public events

That's the one planet I pretty much never go to for PEs unless I have to

Any interest in consolidating clans to ensure active members? I was originally in SPUD but was kicked when I didn't play for two days (damn power outage). My current clan shows 96 members but I've never seen more than 8-10 online.

Is the same thing happening elsewhere? The larger clans still booming? Just my imagination?

I'm casual but would like to see the raid at some point. Hoping to hit 290 on my hunter after doing all the weekly reset stuff.

kind of odd that you were kicked for not playing for two days when you only really need to play the game on Tuesday/the weekend..

Someone kicked you from SPUD for not logging in over only two days...?

I feel like I've noticed the same thing either I'm dumb or I'm just not on at the same times as others Idk. But I've had a hell of a time getting any clan members to join or assist me doing much although there have been a couple ppl that have offered help and it hasn't worked out.
Also about the same lvl threshold as you and same class.
I just wanna finish my last few trophies at this point but never have had an issue helping others once I know what I'm doing.

Having finally finished the raid, I'm actually pretty positive on the whole thing even with our hours of wipes on
Callus. Coming from a WoW background, I've always enjoyed the much more mechanic-based fights where everyone has to do their job and be wary of 2-3 things going on at once. The downside of this, as is pretty evident in this raid, is that if one person on the team just doesn't get it they take the whole team down with them. But that's kind of the beauty of the whole thing: A raid team has to communicate, gain experience with the fight, and then finally have everyone do their job correctly. It's like an actual team effort along the lines of Soccer or Football where one missed tackle/block/assignment can screw the whole game (see: UK vs Florida last weekend....ugh). While one person can make a difference, they can't carry an entire team by themselves.

We didn't really have many bugs from what I can remember, except for one person not re-spawning after a Baths wipe. I also wasn't on the "inside" team during Callus (and I've heard horror stories about that), so I need to try that next time.

Definitely love the ascetic of the place, love Callus' constant encouragement, and think the whole last section is pretty fun lore-wise. I mean, that giant robot vault was pretty damn great. I actually am excited to try the place again and play a different role in all the fights. I still wonder how people already have large portions of the map memorized.

There was a guy in the clan recruitment thread that wanted to put together a 3rd GAF clan to go along with the "NeoGAF" and GAF Gold clans. I would shoot him a PM and gauge interest in that thread. 2 days off and getting kicked is rather ridiculous, imo....

the thing is, dude wasn't even bitching, it was a purely dismissive "fuck off bungie" from him and all of a sudden we are getting dissertations on how we should strive to be a safe haven for bungie type community and mods intervening. blown way out of proportion.

It has nothing to do with being a "save haven for Bungie" and everything to do with maintaining forum standards of discussion, and the ToS.

NeoGAF Charter said:

Key word for this situation is there is "civil". By all means air out grievances with Bungie and the game, vent as needed, but keep it civil. "fuck off bungie" because you don't like a feature fails that test. (Not aimed at you per se, just adding some context to my prior post.)

If anyone has questions about this, PM me, but otherwise please end the meta-discussion about the thread.

Wait, so only the special weapon of the winner of the faction war will be available to everyone?

That sucks. I don't want that DO scout at all but you know it'll win. What a bummer.

Yes. I mentioned it when it happened. Was surprised but not going to raise drama. Nobody owes me anything. It happened the first weekend after release when we lost power, and I came back to no clan. People said no pruning took place so I joined a different team and carried on.

Ditto. I'm mainly wanting to see the few content pieces remaining in the trials and raid. I'm not reading flawless outside of some massive carries. I have no illusions about being a great Destiny player. ;)

I've had luck asking for help in this thread. Great collaborative players. It's more expectations management on my end. I thought all that would fit more into the clan model, but that's not been the case for me.

That's what's actually wrong, no more clutch moments killed the fun in the whole raid.

No more clutch moments, no more sense of mastery of things, all you have now is a solved puzzle you do as routine cause you already did it once.

Take my group friends for example, when WOTM launched most of them hated it cause it relies less on mechanics but more on skill to master, it was way different for them than King's fall, a raid they dominate due the rigid structure and barely freedom to do something else.

After they saw me do stuff with another friend, (2 man the entire raid with both challenges on both dificulties among other stuff) they were more motivated to see how to improve and master each fight. 2 Weeks after that they 4 manned the raid flawlessly.
And i have to make emphasis on the fact that they are casuals, they are the player Bungie wants to enjoy D2.

This whole thing has been lost, Bungie does not want anything of that in the game.

I'll take a look. I'm up for whatever, but I'm not convinced starting yet another clan fixes what I'm seeing. The existing clans mostly sit at 95-100 players, but if they're anything like mine I've never seen more than a tenth of that playing during prime US hours.

Purely anecdotal, so I'm assuming the other clans are bustling with activity.

I think the winning faction can buy their weapon for cheaper, (1000glimmer) the other factions weapons should still be available but for a higher cost of 5,000 glimmer.

We have 100 solid and I've never seen less than 25 on at a time. We are also spread out across the globe with eastern crews, EU crews and NA crew (east and west, lol)

True enough I joined a raid party through the thread here yesterday and everyone was great unfortunately I had to leave early once the wife got home.
Sadly that put me in the position of going lfg and getting berated for not doing as much damage as a throne room guy when I was in shadow realm so that means no more lfg for me unless there's some reason I should be doing more than killing scions projections and doing call outs in shadow or there's invisible enemies I'm somehow missing damage on. (Sry ranting)
In any case hopefully I'll find some people to run a bunch of stuff tonight as the wife is away for the evening
That said if any one wants to do the following on ps4 lemme know please

Rat king
Nightfall
Raid

Ideally trials and prestige nf this weekend if I can hit 300

Yup it did. You can get to the boss, without doing the other stuff by going underneath the ship. It's a maze tho, so a map is necessary.

Sweet. Thanks. Assuming that meant my progress and challenge percentage are saved

Side note: this was my first real raid experience! So damn fun and challenging. Boosted me from 293 to 298

Im hoping to finish the raid before work in about 5 hours.

Anyone running the Calus fight PS4?

I don't know man, we had a spectacularly clutch moment on the last boss with two members dying at the last moment and barely pulling through. Same thing happened at one other event with being able to save a run even though someone died at the *worst* time. That alone felt like we had mastered the fight by the end instead of just being carried along by one or two players.

And there's room for fun challenge stuff. I swear I just saw some story of two people 2-manning one event in there, and I bet you could 4-man another with the right damage output / team setup.

I never did WotM unfortunately. I need to get my copy of Destiny 1 back and give that a shot at some point.

Why are people asking for more grind, Jesus.

Here’s a novel idea: you can play the game without chasing anything. If you have fun in the Crucible or Raid or whatever, it shouldn’t be any less fun just because there’s no “reward” - I mean the whole point of these “rewards” is to use them anyways. So once you have it all: use it :)

Your progress wasn't saved, but you can get to Calus by going underneath the ship to bypass the whole raid. Sorry if I wasn't clear.

That's how I understood it too but on other forums people are claiming Bungie clarified and explained it that the winning faction's weapon would be the only one available for purchase at the end of the event. The members of the winning faction can buy it for cheap and members of other factions will have to pay the full 50k.

I was stoked to get Vigilance Wing exotic pulse, as I haven’t found a kinetic pulse I like yet. Unfortunately it seems to have too many downsides. That or Nameless Midnight is the best weapon in the game.

Only the winning faction weapon is being made available, it's just less (1,000 vs 50,000) if the faction you pledge to wins the rally. So you're guaranteed the weapon for cheap if you're pledged to all factions, but it won't help you get the weapon if that faction doesn't win.

where did the Raid milestone go ??
Seems to disappear the first reset after you get it in your milestones.

Because some people enjoyed the grind to get a perfect roll for their weapon? Or getting enough armor to get optimal stats?

Its not a novel concept that hardcore players enjoy grinding for better and optimal loot.
