It's Contra with 1930's American-style animation and vaudeville music. It's absolutely brilliant and well worth the wait (so far). Hats off to the developers for seeing through their vision to such a polished degree--it's hard enough to make a game that looks like this; it's an equally tough feat to ensure that it plays well.
Dark Souls is actually designed well. Battletoads, well...is anything but.
Volgarr is non-ironically one of the best 2D games in the last 5 years.
Looks great and sounds like it's really good, I just have way too much of a backlog to justify buying it now. Maybe when it gets a discount and/or I knock out a few of these games. Good problem to have I guess?
Co-Op sounds interesting, is it online or local only?

Xbox One is the more reviewed platform. 85 on Meta. I was off by 1 with my prediciton of 84.

Interestingly, the Twinfinite review (which is the lowest review tracked on metacritic for its 3/5) may be one of the more useful reviews for some people. It specifically talks about some frustrating bugs that popped up, and the boss design for some encounters feeling overly random.
I don't know how valid/common those points are, but they're the exact sort of things that could sour me to an otherwise perfect game.
In some cases, people enjoy the game balance even more with the added ability to revive the other player's ghost (almost New Mario "bubble" style).

Stupid... because i wanted a high 90s score game in my Xbox games library that is not Forza.... WTF... And don't tell me that reviews doesnt matter please because we are in a review thread... I am going to buy the game no matter the score because i love the artstyle. But a 90s score game is really important for an exclusive catalog on a platform, dont be hypocrite please... I didn't said that the game is sh*t or something else. A 85 is a good score.

Why does any of this matter? Thread or not, a review is subjective. If you enjoy the game, play it.

finally watching some footage that wasn't a boss battle on a stream I found. I've been asking forever if this game was more than boss fights but never got an answer, and ive never seen a video that wasn't one. looks way more interesting to me now! really stoked to see all the good reviews
You're absolutely right. Reviews are quite influential, and there's a shitton wrong with the whole review/metacritic "industry." But the bottom line is that reviews should exist to help you decide what games will appeal to you. If Cuphead appeals to you and you love it, all the scores should stop mattering to you, because you're already passed them. You're already having fun. Outside of worrying about a game's success because you want a sequel, concern for reviews should begin and end with your consideration of how much fun you might have or how much fun you're having.

I tend to give more established devs more benefit of the doubt.
