Gundam Versus |OT| The World, Western release out now!

Online's real spotty for me at the moment. Even ignoring the disconnection issues at the moment there didn't seem to be many people playing. Kept getting matched up with the same few people and the lag was often so bad that matches ended prematurely.

Couple of questions - As a Strike Gundam user, I'm interested in the Perfect Strike. If anyone's bought it, how is it in comparison? I'm thinking of dropping the money on it just so I never have to hear Kira's whining ever again but I'd like to know if it holds up as a versatile suit.

Speaking of Kira's whining, is there any way to shut characters up during the 'waiting for players' training lobby. Seems if I'm not touching anything they'll just incessantly talk and I don't really feel like muting my TV whenever I'm waiting for an online battle.

So Japan already has the Nightingale and Ghost Gundam - and it shows up in the game, but the DLC hasn't been released for other regions? Huh.. hopefully things sync up after this.

Manual trigger would be OD. Even that alone would help him so much in terms of making his attack actually useful.

Well, you wanted a buff. Might as well make it a fun buff. They could give him nuke funnels and I'd be all over it.

Sad but kinda true lol. I'm waiting for a price drop so I can spend the money on the DLC units. Until then I'll just keep playing my Japanese copy.

At least HS isn't busted anymore. Progress.

I don't know man. The lack of good OST in the peasant version kinda kills it for me. Would still buy on a good sale though. Even though I won't be able to play the game outside of 1v1, due to technical difficulties.

Did you spend money to unlock all the champs in LoL too?

I mean, this is 2017. 90 suits out of the box is extremely generous, my only real complaint is there's no way to test drive suits in practice mode before you buy them.

Nobody spends money on champs in LoL, only costumes.

90+ suits seems generous, but when you notice the lack of major units from prior games and the addition of grunts to add some padding, one might not see it as generous.
It's actually kinda hilarious. In MvCI we got like everything rehashed, while Gundam Versus removes a lot from the previous roster.

There is no practice mode, but I think you can test them randomly in the Ultimate Battle mode in bonus rounds. Or at least it was like that back then. Not sure whether they have changed it or not.

So what's a good cheap fight stick to eventually order for this?

The Hori Real Arcade Pro 4 or the Qanba Crystal are great sticks that run around $150. Qanba also makes a cheaper stick called the Drone for $79.99. I've heard it's pretty good for the price but it doesn't have Sanwa parts. You can always swap out the joystick and buttons later if you want.

Went to go pick this up at GameStop and someone had already brought it back. I don't think I've ever seen that happen day one. Excited to finally crack this open

I guess I can get one of these, but the Qanba is a pain in the ass to find. The Hori looks cool. Didn't want to pay no more than like 80 though. I guess I'll get the Hori if I actually enjoy the game and also use this thing for MvsC2 so I can stop blistering the shit out of my thumb.

I have two Hori RAPs and really enjoy them. You won't be disappointed. Arcade Shock has some of their custom RAP4 Kai sticks on sale at the moment too. Also Focus Attack appears to have the Qanba Drone and Crystal in stock.

Just ordered the G Wing collector's edition (haven't even booted up this game yet) but I'm not a big enough fan to appreciate anything beyond the discs and artbook. I may back out.

But I'm also trying to convince myself to offer the other stuff in that buy, trade, sell thread but I'll let you folks know first if I do?

I'll most likely get the Hori, Amazon has it and I get free 2 day. Might be after I pay my rent though. Since this is my first Gundam vs game and if I enjoy it enough I'll get the sticks or fight the pad to be that much of a hindrance.

RISE GUNDAM!!!

Got my copy earlier, now just waiting on that huge ass patch. Can't wait to play, been awhile since I got down on Vs on PS3 and arcades.

Edit: Also, if anyone wants to team up, my PSN is AsakuraZ

The game does somewhat support custom music, you just need to use the built-in Media Player on the PS4 to do it.

Launch it first, play your music and then start up the game.

You can use the quick menu (Hold the home button on the DS4) and press L1/R1 to switch between songs.

For folks that want to practice without AI, you can make the vs AI mode into one by removing your partner, 1 enemy, and setting the AI of the remaining enemy to stop. Also set the enemy's team gauge and time to infinite. You'll be able to practice movement and attacks as much as you want without anything happening.

Man, this game would be amazing if it wasn't a single digit slideshow.

Played 1v1 with a friend; garbage connection. Moved to horde mode, got a couple games with the same player and perfect connection, then I became Big Zam and the framerate and connection went to shit again.

I want to love this game, Gaf.

So far having a blast in 3v3 as Nu Gundsm. There is so much to unlock I feel like I'll be rotating out favorite suits for awhile. My only gripe is I wish we had more BGMs to choose from

You can upgrade the drone with a sanwa lever & buttons for $20 or so and it's amazing. Not to plug focusattack too much, but they're 1) having a sale and 2) carry the wire harness you need to do a solderless lever upgrade.

edit: it also looks like they pulled Hot Scramble off of PSN, hope you guys got it while you could

Can anyone else comment on performance? I'd love to buy this but not if performance is really bad.

Its all the luck of the draw, If the people you are connecting to make no effort to create a stable connections it will suck.
Such as wifi or just bad Ip in general. Other than that just play player matches and get in rooms with good connections.
Even if its yellow if they are wired most of the time it will be slight delay BUT it will not go into snapshot mode.
ALSO make sure you are wired, this is essential for these kinds of games

Earlier I had the matchmaking set to worldwide and it was taking several minutes to find a match. I was really worried about the player count at that point, but once I switched to my country/region I was finding matches in seconds. Also, the competition has really improved since the open beta, i haven’t run into any obvious noobs yet.

Hey, did they ever patch out that glitch where people could abuse a suit's bird mode and fly away out of range for the rest of the match?

Starting to have a lot of fun with the game now. Turns out unlimiting my matchmaking gets me lots of good matches without lag.

I'm really enjoying how variable each game is at the moment, with lots of pros playing with 200 cost suits and holding their own as well as lots of newbies jumping in with 500 cost suits and ruining it for their teammates.

I've discovered a couple of unexpectedly fun units in the Delta Plus and Union Flag Custom who I barely looked at in the beta.

Has anyone else end up playing a lot of a suit they weren't all that interested in before release?
