Nioh coming to Steam on November 7, Nioh Complete for PS4 same day

Yakuza not coming to PC is entirely on Sega. It took them 8 years to port Bayonetta.

doesn't yakuza franchise get a lot of sponsors and uses a lot of licence stuffs? I would imagine the deal would have to be sign at the beginning if they have planned for PC version, similar to what sega said about Shen Mue if they are going to remaster it.

Wow, so exactly 9 months from launch until the Complete Edition hits? That's even quicker from launch than Battlefield 1's Complete Edition, which seemed really quick (albeit was also more expensive for the DLC).

Not sure these two are comparable considering Nioh is getting a complete edition with all DLCs released and ready to play, while BF1 offers a "Complete*" edition with a code that let's you download the DLC when it's ready.

Honestly, I don't regret the 85 hours I put into it between february and april this year, but I got the gold? version that came with the season pass, which I still haven't even started. I don't think the pc version will interest me though, but who knows in the long run.

"The PC version will include two visual presentation modes: Action Mode, which aims for a stable 60 fps frame rate, and Movie Mode, a “cinematic” option with a 4K display resolution. Koei Tecmo's note to press suggests you can't deviate from either of these two modes, no matter how powerful your PC."

So it seems it's a direct console port with no extra graphical options. You have to choose between 4k and 60 but not both? Uh.....well um....I will be skipping this.

What kind of dumb shit is this.

That wording is all kinds of ambiguous so let's wait for the release before freaking out.

Sounds like another Tecmo PC port. Any hype I had is gone...

WTF!!! Oh Well. I'm still buying it. I don't play in 4K, but still, I have a freaking GTX 1080!! I should be able to run it how I want to.

Seems like a distinction without much of a difference. The main point is that publishers are providing less and less incentives for consumers to purchase on day 1 when they release superior versions not long after.

I own a PS4- how much will this version be?

Also "complete" is the DLC like bloodborne as in certain areas are expanded through portals or doors?

Or is the DLC content separated from the main campaign.

Apparently my PC isn't powerful enough to run this, so I won't be getting it unless the minimum specs end up being highly inflated, but I think this is good news and people should be willing to wait and see how the port actually runs (though, for the record, I would still be willing to play with lower speeds/resolutions than most, in practice, given the limits of my configuration).

Oh man. Now I dunno if I want this on PC or the Pro.

I can't tell from that announcement if there are also further graphical improvements coming to PS4/Pro.

Even if you have a 1080, that doesnt mean much with K-T ports. Having a 980Ti and an i5-7600k, while mostly EVERY anime game runs without even using my GPU and CPU to the fullest, a lot of K-T Musou games are a mess in 4k sadly.

A cinematic mode that probably runs at 30fps. Yup it's a Tecmo Koei pc port.

I'll just play it in 60fps mode.

980ti and i7 7700k both very stoutly overclocked and Berserk still ran like shit for me. Enjoyed the game though, lol >.>

Hmmm, that's a good point actually. Honestly though I mostly figured they weren't expecting 0 and Kiwami's localizations to be as sleeper hits as they were. Until then the series was mainly Japan-focused so obviously it was easier to work with PS4 versions that already existed. Maybe they'll revisit it at some point. But yeah, like has been said before it's a totally different situation than here and I don't think Sony is involved in it.

It's KT, so there is an equal chance of this being true or just miscommunication.
Honestly not really much point in trying to figure out port quality before release.

1080p 60fps action mode for me then. Hopefully, I can use Reshade on it.

This has to be a joke right? I was hyped about getting this for PC but screw it. Koei's PC porting jobs makes it impossible for me to support them on the PC front.

All this means for me is I will hold off on purchasing at launch, and wait to see if this is either fixed by KT or modders.

This is actually fairly good news for me as it suggests the dynamic resolution switching is still in the game since chances are my PC will need it to keep up with the framerate. Sometimes there is the assumption all PC gamers can brute force past issues like that.

Cant be worse than Dark souls 1 port right?

Otherwise great news! Now if only PC parts in Europe would go back to acceptable levels. (500 € for 1070 is retarded)

Can't say I expected much better from a Tecmo Koei PC port.

Well, Dark Souls 1 got fixes by people in the community.

Tecmo Koei ports tend not to get fixed by modders out of principle.

I would wait before drawing conclusions, just take a look at the misinformation about their previous port they themselves created.

Enjoy, It's a great game so support the dev (and break a few controllers) it seems like they have been having a few problems.
personal message from our director Yasuda-san
“When the scene after William’s final battle was completed, there was a huge sense of loss and I was very sentimental. That’s because for years, William was always there on our monitors traversing Sengoku Japan, fighting Yokai after another… and I felt I would no longer see that again.

Nioh’s development happened during difficult times for Team Ninja. So while it was a tremendous challenge, it also came with unimaginable joy and sorrow. This may sound dramatic but as I see William, who dies again and again, only to come back stronger and continue to take on tougher foes. In this vision, I see the new embodiment of Team NINJA as well.

While I am starting to think about the future, at this very moment I only wish for our players to take delight in the final chapter of William’s tale.”

A little bit of both. The DLC content is seperate but adds weapons, equipment, guardians, and enemies that are fed back into the main game.

Ahaha. Service as usual for KT then.

This was the one game I was going to buy again on PS4. I had sold it to GameStop during the b2g1 madness a few months back and meant to pick it up again because I loved the demo.

Getting it on Steam is the fucking dream. No more having to be prepared to cope with 30fps and better graphics vs 60fps and poorer graphics or less than 21:9 on my 21:9 screen.

oh. Never mind. That's exactly how the PS4 version is set up.

Wow, out o' nowhere megaton. Was NOT expecting that.

I might double dip someday... >_>

Edit: ok it looks like a bad port but why is there so much concern trolling about 30fps? The game is already 60fps on PS4...

But it works for every mission?
Not 100%, but most (and all the story missions... except maybe the epilogue one? not sure about this one).
A few side-missions are 1v1 samurai duels and have no coop. And they really shouldn't. :p

well some modders are already trying to fix Blue Reflection's crash issues and quite successfully so far ... and with the love Souls is getting on PC i dont see why they wouldnt try to fix this one aswell

Game announced as PS4 console exclusive, which implies inevitable PC release.

Came a little later than usual.

It's 60fps on PS4 Pro, I doubt it'll have a 30fps lock on PC.

Even 60 is becoming unacceptable on PC at this point.

You can also force the same checkerboard resolution scaling the consoles do on PC.

that's great. Haven't really played it myself but I plan to. As the long as the port is good, I'll be playing there.
