This complaining is hilarious. The phone is gonna be da gawd, de best phone eva, Stop hatin'But bezels? Personally, I don't get it. I don't get it at all.

Did they lower the price of the original Pixel? I think I might just trade in my shitty Nexus 5x for that tbh.
so... good luck buying one this year?
Yes, and no.
I understand the complaints about the headphone jack. Hell, I used the headphone jack on my original Pixel daily. However, truth of the matter is this probably gonna be a industry trend moving forward, especially among flagship phones, so personally, I'm choosing to adjust to the new rather than hold onto to the past.

lmao that is fukin embarrassing. the xl is way too big for most people, its bordering on phablet, so this monstrosity is the option google offer to the average consumer smh
I'm actually really conflicted now. I wouldn't have gone with the 2XL anyway because of the size, but the 2 is just...disappointing aesthetically. But at the same time, some sadistic part of my wants the 2 just because it's the latest thing out there. I mean, I'd be getting the same software experience, the same camera (which should be excellent by all accounts), the same specs...but those fucking bezels man. Also, I'm kind of really coming around to those earbuds - they actually look fucking awesome, and I'd totally just ask for them as a Christmas gift or something, so I wouldn't need to spend a penny on them.
The 2 is just about within my price bracket, with the 2XL, and even the LG V30 in the UK at least, exceeding it. As much as the LG V30 is probably the phone to get now for a lot of people, it's still too damn expensive. But in terms of price/performance, I'd be a fucking idiot to not get the OnePlus 5: it has literally the same CPU as the 2/2XL and LG V30, more RAM, a headphone jack, and a dual-lens camera which is 'good' at worst.
I don't know what to do. FUCK.
It's crazy that I can buy the S8 for under 600 (closer to 500 if willing to buy from private sellers). If only it was anywhere near stock Android..
Why you gotta send the trade in kit so early Google? I ain't sending you shit until I get my new phone.
Looking at the 2... it is really so damn sleek. I think it's basically the perfect phone if not for the bezels. And honestly... they aren't really that bad. It actually has just about the same sized bezels as the iPhone 8.
Preach brother. A stock Android S8 would be the IDEAL phone.
Can't you just use something like Nova launcher?, I have that on my S8 with it currently set to look like the Pixel 2 launcher - runs and feels just like stock android.Preach brother. A stock Android S8 would be the IDEAL phone.
that sounds great actuallya GS8 with worse popup play, no Samsung Pay, no Iris unlock, no edge features, etc...?
Nova is great, but doesnt solve things like the goddamn bixby button...Can't you just use something like Nova launcher?, I have that on my S8 with it currently set to look like the Pixel 2 launcher - runs and feels just like stock android.
Yeah, and rogue touches are more annoying to me than a few mm of bezel. As for people vomiting because the side bezels is 1 millimeter too big? Eh, it's fine. I'm glad not every company is going for ZERO BEZEL. Personally I like reduced bezels but the smaller they are, the tougher edge gestures with a case on are. Case in point, force touch from edge for multi-tasking on iOS.

I wanted the panda but like someone else said it won't make a difference since my phone will live in a case. Finally managed to place an order yesterday afternoon for the Panda XL 2. Estimated shipping is November 27th.
I could have ordered the all black XL 2, and have it arrive here in a couple weeks...but I feel like the panda combo with the orange power button is just so much better looking and more fun. Hopefully it is worth the wait
so I asked earlier but I do not believe anyone responded...
any chance Pixel 2 is at a Verizon store or Best Buy to try out?
Same here. I ordered the smaller Pixel 2. Im hoping battery life is decent. Im coming from a 6s Plus so Im used to great battery life.Got this preordered but still trying to decide between this or the iPhone X.
Camera and battery are the two I really care about.
I wanted the panda but like someone else said it won't make a difference since my phone will live in a case.
I've also always wanted a black phone but I've never had one, always ended up with a blue variant.
However, with me personally, I always use cases on my phone for the first few months....then I realize phones feel so much better without the case and stop using one.
I also don't want to wait. I really liked the look of it but man... That's a long wait.Good point!

Also, I ALWAYS get black phones, so I wanted to switch it up a bit.
My main beef is because of the wait. I want the phone much sooner, but will patiently wait for the panda. (Not very patent at all. Lol)
you mean the extra button that you can turn off?that sounds great actually
Havent gotten around to rooting mine yet
Nova is great, but doesnt solve things like the goddamn bixby button...
so you agree that PIP Youtube should be paywalled? You're not making the argument you think you are.
I dunno if I can live without Samsung Pay. It's that good.
What the hell is the point of dropping the headphone jacks again?
I don't understand these recent decisions by phone makers.
I don't buy it being a "size" thing. Phones have been incredibly-thin for a while now. Almost too thin, I'd argue (I always need a case to make the phone a little bigger and easier to hold in my hand.
they dropped the jack and introduced their own wireless headphones with matching colors.
you know why they dropped it... trying to force overpriced accessories on you.
they don't even include Type-C earbuds in the box.
All of these things sound like improvements to me.a GS8 with worse popup play, no Samsung Pay, no Iris unlock, no edge features, etc...?

I'm really torn between this and the LG V30. I'd consider a Note 8 but I dont know if I actually want a phone that big. Ive been off the android train for a while now but im eager to get back!
Interesting case for the Pixel 2
