I have an 8+ and I'm on the Freedom network in Vancouver

When the phone is on LTE it's lightning quick. Their LTE network is great. However, when you go into a building or call someone, it'll drop to 3G and take a while to go back to LTE (like five minutes in some cases)

Their 3G network is borderline unusable. To give a real world example, I get off the skytrain at Broadway Cambie and I often just pick up LTE again by the time I've almost walked all the way home (ten minutes) For those ten minutes my phone is pretty much unusable. I wasn't able to load a podcast because the 3G network is so slow

I kind of hate Shaw as a company, and Freedom just won't work for me because I value the ability to use my phone when I'm out of the city as well as in it... but I really do hope they're able to make some massive strides in the next couple of years in terms of expanding and bolstering their network. The competition is really important.

My brother's a Freedom customer (with an iPhone) and seems generally satisfied with them.

Or a link to a good Xbox gold deal would be better as I’ve been looking but haven’t seen anything recently.

Anyone know if overcooked on switch has its frame rate issues fixed? I want to get this for me and the gf (she loves cooking so I think she will find this game silly and fun) but am worried it's a broken mess.

They sell a plan with Canadian roaming included. Also there are phones that support wifi calling. It's on sale right now for $50 and comes with 8gb home data.


Even if you didn't take that plan, you probably wouldn't roam enough to get your bill higher then it was with robelus unless you stupidly used an obscene amount of data roaming.

Also keep in mind everyone thinking of going with freedom with an iPhone or other phone freedom doesn't sell themselves. There could be issues connecting properly to the LTE. It's unfortunately not as simple as "you're phone has the band, you're good to go".

FYI, if you've been to any of the recent mall PSVR demos that have been connected with EB Games, they might have given you a $100 off coupon. That coupon stacks with EB's sale this weekend -- I was able to get a Core headset for $200, which is absolutely the right price for me.

I got one earlier in the summer when they were $400 and wound up returning it because i just didn't feel like I could justify it. Still feels like it might be an expensive toy/curiosity even at $200, but I think I'm much less likely to feel much in the way of buyer's remorse.

That's cool... is it new? I don't recall seeing it before, but that might be because it's regularly $60 and I've never really been plan-shopping in that price range. My old plan was $45/month and until recently covered my data needs nicely. But I could easily see a Wind bill hitting $55-60 with their normal roaming rates ($5/100MB)

Either way, I'm quite happy with my current plan: $50 with 4GB of data.

I just phoned Freedom and told them I wanted the triple data plan (40 for 6gb) despite being a current and not new customer. They did it with out a hassle. Now I just need to get an LTE ready phone. Need to think about how to get the biggest discount from them.

Be careful with co-op Overcooked if you are playing with your SO. It's called a" break-up simulation" for a reason.

The V20 and G6 are great phones at a sizable discount currently.


Edit: V20 isn't on the site anymore but your local store might have it.

None that I know of but have you checked Kijiji? Uncharted 4 is a dime a dozen here in Montreal. There's no manual or "day one edition" or anything so don't worry about an incomplete copy.

For Nioh I would wait for the upcoming Complete Edition, chances are the regular edition will be heavily discounted then if you still really want that one.

Let me tell you from my personal experience.

I was with Rogers and decided to make thr jump once the LG G5 was out, I quickly found out I barely got service and data would be hit and miss if would want to work. I then got them to upgrade me to the LTE network with the V20 and again I would drop calls, never get reliable data and would even just miss calls.

This was all part of the house, at work and out in public.

I've since switched back to Rogers because of the spotty service.

I have heard it is better out west. I would not recommend it here in southern ontario though.

It meant to be a joke haha but I personally lost my shit once during the play thru (specifically in one of the the space stages.... Have also witness my best friend broke a huge fight with his fiancée too.

But definitely play it! We all loved and enjoyed the game. Just keep your head cool I guess.

Kinda want an XB2 pro controller. Only saw a page for it on EB Games, so hopefully that means there are still plenty of chances left at other retailers.

also, anyone see any of those mario odyssey demos yet in best buy or toys r us? so far I've only heard from people in the states that have played it, not even sure if it's anywhere in canada.

I looked at the cineplex app and there was nothing but luckily I was here and saw people getting tickets so I rushed over to the normal website, seems presales still don't work on the app?

Could I get a TV recommendation? My parents are looking for something that's $700 pre-tax, there aren't going to be any gaming devices or anything hooked up to it so refresh rate isn't really a big deal. I think 40" is probably the max they can fit on their stand.

Black Friday in 6 weeks.

Seriously. The TV discounts on BF and Boxing Week are insane.

Can't in good conscience recommend something right at this moment that's going to be 30% less in 6 weeks.

If they can't wait, $700 buys you a NICE 40 incher. Just go to Costco and get whatever's there.

Hmm...yeah, that's true. I think they're looking now cause my dads birthday is coming up next week and they wanted it for then. I guess I'll have to see what the extent of the savings would be.

Cineplex just not doing advanced tickets for regular showings this time? We got regular tix pretty easy for force awakens opening night but I can't see any this time.

That’s annoying. Just noticed that the cineplex summer escape tickets can only be used until sept 30. Thankfully they carry over to next summer but annoying that I missed that bit of fine print. Was looking forward to finally using them up now that I am temporarily living in a city with a theatre that is closer than 45 minutes away. Ah well next year.
