LEGO |OT6| We Only Build in Black. And Sometimes Very Dark Grey.

I was just watching Netflix documentary “Abstract - The Art of Design” the episode about architecture, featuring Bjarke Ingels, incredible work, and then they briefly show the Lego House as one of his creations. Amazing architect, amazing series of documentaries, worth watching.

A good run for Palace Cinema. Grab one if you like the look or if you ever want to build something in dark tan. At least when it came out, it was the only source for some of the longer bricks.

Can't figure out how to get actual image link with mobile imgur app. Anyway, I hope they overproduced Ninjago CMF so we get some sales on them. Saw 14! on the shelves at a Target. Some on other side not visible in photo.

Edit: figured out the convoluted way

Kind of off-topic, but ...
Did we thought that UCS MF launch was botched ? And people are crazy to go camping for a plastic toy ?
Oh no worries, there are others too

:D
And industry rumors say Apple is behind in making enough iPhone X for the launch...

In LEGO news ... mine UCS MF box is still barricaded by lots of still packed baby stuff and the coffee table was taken by unpacked stuff for sorting

I hope so. I like the series, but this is the first set I didn't rush out to complete. I've only bought 4.

I'm not super into them either. I'm biased towards the original Ninjago designs. I'm mostly interested in the fishhead ones.

im mostly interested in the multicolor girl, the bowls and selfie guy. and maybe sushi guy, that's it. May wait and hope the bowls show up in the build a figure section at the stores. I will probably buy one of each figure though just in case but I will not be getting the complete set.

Yes, the accessories in the series are quite awesome. I also want the sushi and n-pop girl. I want the new hair moulds as well, but I figure most if them will be reused (maybe in different colors). If they are ever in sale, I will complete the series.

there was one take on the movie that i really like

The LEGO Ninjago movie was LEGO Power Rangers. without the proper license, they used the power rangers formula and even lifted a fair bit from the 90's Power Rangers movie.

6 teenagers with attitude, with their colors, on a journey to regain power after their mighty machines are destroyed by a legendary evil

and i really like that. the world needed a good power rangers movie, but as a ninjago movie it was lacking i think

I have no history with the Ninjago lore so when I saw the trailer for the first time just a week ago, I figured "oh I get it it's Lego power rangers!"

I assume the movie is slightly different for my he previous media then?

But yeah I liked the movie for being a sort of mashup and send-up of martial arts films, and power rangers shows. It even has Master Wu perform some signature Jackie Chan style moves with his head rub and flicking bricks with his staff.

I thought it was great!

So first apologies because it looks like I may not be able to get to a TRU this week to try and get that Lego Batman fig set. If I do I will try to snag one or two extras but it doesn’t really look like I will get that chance. And for once you know I’m not really fretting over it. I’ve just had a shitload of perspective over the last month and my ocd with Lego collecting has really chilled out. That or the upped dosage on my sertraline, or both whatever.

I’m down with my sis again helping them out and going to be bringing her back home with me late next weekend or early next week. To pass some time at night and to also work on my Halloween scene I brought the OFS with me to build. My brother in-law is a fishing guy and he’s been getting a real kick out of helping me build it. It’s been nice to see them getting their minds off things just for a little bit. He started cracking up when it got to the TNT box and little dynamite pieces.

Now to figure out how to get it home :/ I didn’t realize it had so many loose builds and pieces.

PhoncipleBone, Ninjago City - YES/NO? How fun is it to build?

Yes. Fantastic build throughout, and lots of cool play features to boot. There are a lot of stickers though, but it looks off without them.

Having said all that, Destiny's Bounty is the real MVP of the theme.

Thanks. I got Destiny's Bounty already and bought it without doubt.

Given the parts and power functions components, what would be a fair price for the 42070 All Terrain Tow Truck? I know it's original retail price has received a lot of criticism
The cheapest I can find it for now is €188. Would you think that 's fair or still too expensive?

Is it possible to (easily) pose the dragon on top of Ninjago City? I was thinking curled around the top tower.

Sadly, no. The majority of the body does not curve at all. The midsection is rigid. The lower neck only moves up and down. The head only twists. The tail you can wrap a bit but that is it.

Aww, yeah, really want one myself, but thinking I may end up missing it. Think I'm going to have to go with just buying them directly one way or another, as I'm not sure I could justify spending enough on small sets to trigger the actual Bricktober promo (plus, you know, space).

Also, ya know, grabbing an order on Double VIP which already strains the wallet/space as is. Should that go live at midnight, btw? Or will I have to wait till later.

received old fishing store as an anniversary present. my girlfriend said she was worried I'd have gotten it for her. My response was pretty much that I'd have felt like I was using it as an excuse to buy myself toys, to which she said, "oh shit am I a bad person?" I cracked up so hard.

her total apathy to my lego batman binge this year had almost made me forget she's how our plastic problem started in the first place, haha. I suppose medieval market village and vampire castle ARE technically hers so I'm basically a hostage.

Just put in an order myself

- VW Beetle
- Winter Village Train station

+ the promos

I am hyped for the VIP set obviously, but I didn't know they were still doing Lloyd and Cavepeople so that's a sweet bonus.

Plus with the 359 double points, I just crossed 1000 accumulated VIP points yassss. Probably going to use that to carve out a giant chunk of the Assembly Square price during the black friday event.

Ordered Ninjago City. Maybe order something else towards the end of double VIP too, depending on how my finances stand (I expect some overdue payments this month for work I did months ago)

Oh sweet, weird that they wouldn't advertise the promos. Still got The Old Fishing Store, Halloween Set and Thanksgiving set with the double VIP and VIP promo! Fingers crossed it arrives Friday like the last couple of Tuesday orders did!

Shit. 2x VIP is here, Saturn V is still out of stock and I'm only halfway towards Ninjago City financially, which I had settled upon getting. Might get OFS instead I guess. Hmm.

Darn. Apparently Bricks & Pieces and/or Pick-a-Brick don't count towards the VIP promo. Oh well. I was going to buy other stuff to get me up to the $120, but not anymore.

Just finished the Old Fishing Shop, lots of great printed wood parts that'll be good to use in MOCs, not sure the price is justified though.

Did anyone else find their side door didn't line up with the walls next to it correctly when it came time to build over the top? I looked back and forth through the instructions but couldn't figure out why I was one plate short.

Gave my wife 3 choices :

Caroussel (which i think it´s her favourite)
Ferris Wheel
Ninjago City

Lets see what she picks for 2x VIP points...

out of these 3 whats the best one?

Aren’t there a few tiles that extend past the edge of the wall to cover he edge of the back wall? I’m not at home and can’t look.
