Sometimes happens

Sometimes your dad's jecht and your tidus

Sometimes it happens

makes sense though

must have felt bad after training guy and taking a look at the landscape like "literally every ninja in this universe is so fucking wack including me"

only a man burdened by the weight of that realization could go on create a clan of ninjas as cool as striders

Guy's cooler than Zeku.

Guy is one of my favorite Street Fighter characters.

Top 5, easy.

I was not expecting Zeku to be doper than Guy, because what’s doper than a ninja in some Nike Dunks?

Pimped out Ra’s al Ghul OG Striders, that’s what.

Why does he look like an Overwatch character?

Probably because Overwatch has a Westernized anime aesthetic, which is an aesthetic that Street Fighter helped pioneer.

With the exception of Menat, all the S2 characters were classic and legacy characters, but only Akuma was ever playable.

Akuma: ST - playable
Kolin: NG - story
Ed: SF4 - story
Abigail: Final Fight - boss
Menat: SFV - new character
Zeku: SFA2 - story

Ibuki's pretty cool, but he probably a baby or some shit when he finished training guy. Wait wait, Is maki a ninja? Maki is cool. So that's like two. I hate vega so its still two, if you like vega feel free to add him to the list, but yeah the other sf ninjas are wack

In video games at least
Yep yep, and you will only see more of it considering that both east and west are getting hella liberal with their influences over the past... almost decade to the degree in which they are just strait up animating for eachother. They were before, but now much more liberally. The sharing of art and culture is a fantastic thing

Cliffy B dissagree's though

According to Rashid story , Guy has been in Training too so will be interesting to see what the man who bodied Zeku can do.

There's nothing westernized about Street Fighter, and all the SF designs were just lifted from other Japanese properties, most notably Hokuto no Ken and JoJo's Bizarre Adventure.

The closest is Deejay because he was designed by James Goddard.

More like why do Overwatch characters look like Capcom characters, and the answer is Arnold Tsang.

And this is your answer right here. For people who don't know, prior to working on Overwatch, Arnold Tsang was an illustrator at Udon. Udon makes comics for Capcom USA and they've contributed art to Capcom games since Capcom Fighting Evolution.

His face does not suit his fighting style or outfit or anything. It makes him look like an Overwatch character or something.
You're right. Honestly, this is a terrible character design, Capcom's design team gets worse with each 3d iteration of the series.

Danny Dudekisser

I paid good money for this Dynex!

Well, that actually does make a lot of sense, then.

.

I legit forgot about arnold.

But ehhhhhh, I have no idea about that there's actually a lot of western inspired shit in Street fighter. In each iteration. From being inspired by actual practitioners of martial arts, to being inspired by western comic book heroes. While jojo and Fist of the north star are inspirations, to say there is nothing western about street fighter is to ignore large portions of the cast.

Like yeah. Its not call of duty or some shit, but like tekken its inspiration and where it draws from comes from all across the globe.

Ken and Ryu fight with a Philly Shell boxing stance. Balrog is Mike fucking Tyson. SF1 and the beat’em ups of the time (Renegade, Double Dragon) were basically Japanese riffs on The Warriors and Western street culture:

But ain’t nothing westernized about Street Fighter.

CA in his old form is basically the same. Also his V-trigger is 2 gauge

Also is this first time seeing AE's new interface in motion? The KO font got flashier I guess lol

edit: nvm, was a repost of a JP site vid.

Zeku can use a special or a V-Skill to transform- which is another indication that multiple V-Skills are coming.

Zeku transforms with down down punch. His vskill is different in each form. Technically I guess with Zeku the game already has multiple vskills. It'd be funny if this is what Xkira "saw."

I'm assuming "old habits" means mutton chops.

Also can you transform back to old from young?

Yes. Just input dd + 2p or v-skill again.

Bushin Gram has crazy startup based on the video. Wonder if you can combo into it in the lighter versions?

Furthest ranging one seems to have the most startup. There are shorter horizontal versions of it & the knock-up those shorter ones provide can be combo'd afterwards.

God, I'm waiting for the Day 1 Desk combos to drop for this guy. Hopefully its possible to do crazy Old>Young>Old>Young shit in a combo

For those looking to set Zeku to Japanese, his Japanese VA is Nobuo Tobita, who you may recognize as Straizo from JoJo's Bizarre Adventure & Meleoron from Hunter x Hunter.

Why doesn’t his younger form have sideburns in his story costume like in the story mode artwork??

Also I need some shirtless Zeku ASAP.

He can do either - https://game.capcom.com/cfn/sfv/promotion/zku
Using his V-Skill, and the special move Shukumyo,
Zeku can change between his old and young versions.
Having redundancy here is unusual unless he's able to remove that V-Skill.

The v-skill version also states "(CHANGE PROPERTIES WITH THE DIRECTIONAL BUTTONS ON HIT)" whatever that means
Probably multiple versions like Menat/Abigail/etc.

One thing I hope they steal from Marvel- pausing the timer during cinematic CAs so you can't timer scam w/ them.

What I love the most about Zeku, is his character theme is very reminiscent of the music the Capcom Sound Team had composed for most of Capcom's major arcade fighters (SFA, Darkstalkers, Super Puzzle Fighter, etc.)

I guess these are two different ones with directional input?

Ah so he's like Gen with two separate movesets. I've never fared well with such characters, but it probably can't be worse than using Menat with a pad. Well, not unless he can switch stances mid-combo to optimize damage (doesn't appear that's possible).

It'd be cool if someone makes a PC mod where he keeps the same look between stances (assuming the idle stance is unique so you know which is which). I really like his default look, but could see myself using that Hiryu-ish battle costume on occasion.
