Aldi Nord und Aldi Süd haben ab dem 26. Oktober ein kleines Schmankerl für Fans der Rennspielreihe „Gran Turismo” auf Lager: So wird es von der Sony PlayStation 4 eine „Gran Turismo Sport Limited Edition” geben. Die Konsole kostet im Bundle mit dem neuen Game, „Gran Turismo Sport”, 299 Euro. Zu haben ist diese Sonderedition eben exklusiv beim Discounter. Der Preis haut einen an sich nicht vom Hocker, die PS4 wartet aber in diesem Bundle mit einem speziellen Design auf.

Translation: Aldi Nord und Aldi Süd are going to offer the Gran Turismo PS4 exclusiv starting from 26.10.
The price is not super special, but the console is nice to look at, and it also comes with some additions stuff

I think Aldi already had an exclusive deal in 2009. The retail version of wipEout HD was only available at Aldi for some time.

Aldi felt in other regions much more premium then in germany. But they upgraded their stores recently to look much better and have now also much more brands.

Finally, german ALDI always felt uncomfortable IMO

No idea if Aldi is a German Tesco's or Walmart. Sounds cheap.

In the UK, Aldi is much cheaper than Tesco. It's a much smaller supermarket to boot, as well. But you can get most things you'd need there, and it's absurdly cheap. I find it to be a much better experience than Tesco/Asda - I'm not totally overwhelmed by choice.

They are, but they improved their stores recently and now its great to buy stuff there. Also, you could now buy Steam, PSN and Xbox Keys on their webstore, they want to get a foot into gaming as it seems.

They had great playstation deals in the past, I can remember PS2 slim and PS3 slim bundles on offer there. But a limited edition console must be new.

I really don't like the design of the PS4 slim or my PS4 Pro, but this GT themed PS4 does look pretty great. I like the custom controller as well. I thought grocery stores in Europe, in general, sold games. I guess the head-scratcher here is that this bundle is exclusive to Aldi.

It was interesting to find out that Aldi is the same as Trader Joes, people see Aldi as being the 'lowest' place to shop, but will fall over themselves to shop at a Trader Joes

Aldi (and grocery stores) is not the brand you want to associate your powerful console with. Every time I see something available at a grocery store, it's just garbage.

It has been nearly 2 decades since Aldi had great electronics (like their first PCs) that everyone wanted.

To be fair, Sony can do anything ey want in Germany because they dominate the market.

As far as i know netto(markt)? Has A brands.
Aldi lacks most of those.

Here aldi is the lowest tier of all

About a decade ago or more it certainly was but the produce is now significantly better than both Tesco and Asda which just gets worse year after year and in the UK it is one of the few supermarkets you can get nearly all fresh produce sourced in the UK. Plus they pay their staff real wages. Their presentation is awful though.

For fresh produce in the UK I'd put it as this Natoora > green grocer > Waitrose > Aldi > Sainsburys. The rest I refuse to go to. For pre-made stuff its M&S and Waitrose all day.

They have quite good meat. Aldi is better than Edeka in terms of meat quality where I live and their canned beans / corn / carrots / peas are better than the corresponding Gut & Günstig products as well. Also they are a good choice to buy onions (cheap and good quality).

What's going on with the Aldi shaming in here? It's a standard grocery store here in Germany. Not bottom of the barrel at all.
