Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite |OT| Marvel vs. Capcom: 4 Female Characters

I don't think you should compare skins in a fighting game to those outside of the genre as much as Capcom and other fighting game companies would like you to. MMOs typically haven't different business models, and skins in MMOs are even more absurdly priced because they can get away with the justification of the base game often being f2p.

I wasn't comparing the prices at all in that particular post. Rather I was like, "Hey, I've spent a ton of money on outfits in the past and where did it get me?"

I was just trying Frank West out (he never clicked with me on 3), and he seems fun this time round. Who does he pair up well with, excluding the obvious Dante, and is he a point, assist, or hybrid?
I'm mostly only interested in the Capcom side though.

Agreed. $30 for skins is $30 your could spend on a whole other game.

Yeah, you say that now but last gen people thought $20 for the UMvC3 costume bundle was too much and that game had 50 characters.

People said the $4 costumes in SFV were justified because you could get the characters for free with Fight Money.

Well, I don't see any Fight Money in MvC:I

Keep buying it and they'll keep pushing it. Next gen skins will be $6 each.

I hope people buy it because this seems to be the only way Capcom will turn a profit given sales of the game...unless they’re killing it on digital.

I've been playing him from the start, I'm using him as some kind of zoner, with the smaller screen in MVCI his air paddlesaws cover like half of the screen, and you can mix it with his proyectiles on the ground.
Also his new servbot head attack is good for covering a tag.
Almost any character can work for him, you can pretty much do a hyper at the end of any combo and tag for 2 photos: easy lvl4.
Dante is great with him, he can get him to lvl5 in one combo with no hyper, lol.
Now Im trying Jedah, also works great.

Matches are fairly rare in PC, but you should find matches in Ranked well enough. The netcode's fantastic. Actually, finding matches might still be a bit bugged. Try fight request in arcade or training for more reliable ones.

I think it's always harder in general to find casual matches for some reason on PC at least in my experience. Honestly wish casual in general had more players just playing anti-competitively and picking new characters after each round.

omgitzandre streaming the new dlc characters right now and Black Panther looks insane. Can cancel anything into wall cling and zip around the screen quick af.

I thought the gameplay was accepted as great just everything else is trash about this game.
Hell no wtf?¿!

This game is so bad. It has so mant stupid gameplay design decisions that.make zero sense & there is only one way to play the game. It's so unbalanced too. So many characters are trash cause they don't work with the system & half the stones are garbage too.

Man this game sucks. :(

How do you think they should improve it (assuming it's game play issues)?

I think one idea that came to me today reading that list of projectiles that disappear when hit.

I think when you use a hyper, if it's a hyper that normally is interrupted if the character is hit then if you tag out during the hyper, then that character cancels the hyper (goes into tag recovery animation). This would work like a psuedo DHC in the game. For hypers like Morrigan's Finishing Showers which go on even if Morrigan is hit (or is canceled out of for whatever reason), it should still continue if you tag out but not for stuff like Dante's hyper where Dante has to be active for it to work. This would dramatically cut down on the "lock people down with hypers and dance on their head" in the game but still retain the DHC aspect of hypers from previous games.

Of course this would take out some synergy in the game but I think that's worth it to reduce the degenerate stuff ie. set play. And of course this is not something I want right now but it's probably something they should consider months from now.

Other things they should look at :

*Damage scaling working differently for different types of characters (right now it's universal which doesn't make any sense).

*Movement on the ground.

*Chip damage increased.

*Meter gain on block for the person attacking with specials (ie. you make them block a special arrow with Hawkeye and you get some meter).

*Push/advance guard mechanics and moves with the ability to negate it.

*How the incoming tag works (cooldown, frame data of the tag hit, which side they come from)

*Up back or the lack thereof.

*Projectile dependancy when tags are in play.

*Scaling off of command grabs.

*Mind stone in general.

Half of it’s nostalgia for me. I went back and played MvC3U and man it was an adjustment it even looks abjectly worse to me close up. I got a gaming monitor with 1ms response and stopped playing on the couch...the graphics are a lot bettter but the black outline pops more.

Keep getting matched up with the same guy over and over again in Ranked, and it's been taking longer to find matches. Matches have been laggier since the update, too.

For a game they bill as being very open they homogenized a lot of things. I think that’s my main complaint. I say that as a viewer though since I’m a scrub anyway and it doesn’t matter much for me.

GAF CITY HOTTAKES SO HOT YOU MUST SIGN A WAIVER TO READ.

In all seriousness, give us some more specifics for why you don't like the game. I don't think all stones suck. Mind stone definitely does, though. How would you improve the game? I was joking about the above, no hard feelings lol. Genuinely curious about your ideas.

Edit: Just saw your recent post, I know that feeling. I'll be at work myself soon enough.

I think making tag cost 2 meters from a hyper combo would at least make supers into resets cost more...
If we are going that route then the actual tag should cost 1 meter, not 2 meter. Otherwise that whole sequence would cost 3 meter and it would definitely not be worth it.

I think even 1 meter would be good enough. Would stop random supers into tag. Spending 2 bars for maybe nothing would be a huge deterrent. I like your idea far better than mine. I was thinking of making it to where you can only tag during a super if you super with your tag too.

I finally realized why Black Panther doesn't have an air dash. He would have been absurd with the wall cling from anywhere mechanic. Endless mixups with an air dash

Next Iron Man armor needs to be the Modular Armor TBH.

Superior is kind of whatever as far as Iron Man armors goes.

Have some more high-res images of the costumes (courtesy of Isabel Hsu from Marvel Games).

Her Twitter posts on the costumes even show what each costume is referencing.

Only one of those we didn't have a high quality render.

Seriously most of those renders are in laughable quality. It's almost as if they don't actually want us to see the renders...

Truly they learnt the wrong lesson from the Chun-Li/Dante debacle. The problem wasn't that we had high-quality renders, it was that the models in HQ were horrendous.

At this point, whatever is going on at the studio making MvC:I has to beat out Destiny in pure fuckery. Everything with this game's press is uncoordinated, confusing, and/or mishandled. It can't just have been Matt Dahlgren's fault as he was around with previous titles, no?

I have to wonder if any press they release for the game has to go through marvel first. Which may be the cause of the fuckery

I'm liking Sigma's theme

It's sorta depressing all the bad art for this game. Sure a lot of costumes look great.

But who green lit Capt America costume where he looks like a Roman Gladiator??

I'm sure the majority will be really good however. But there's gonna be a few obviously rushed outfits made by Interns
