bish gets all the credit :)
I've really wanted a Steam Link, but just spent $30 in credit on Hellblade and I'm poor. I have a long HDMI cable I use to play on my TV, so it's really not necessary for me to have, yet I really want it. Blarghhh.

If this was the Steam Controller though, I would have cried.

Don't bother with it if you already have an HDMI cable run.

I want one, but Valve won´t sell Steam Links to Brazil :(

I game on a notebook, so I can easily hook it to my TV. However, I'll buy a desktop next year. I'm curious: so you use a long HDMI cable, but how do you control the games?

Just buy and start playing! I think the first game hasn’t aged well so just start with 3.

Also I don’t think it’ll get cheaper this holiday season, it’ll probably be 60% for the Nov, Dec sales.

Yeah, no way I'll do this, not my style. At least I'd play the second one, I've heard it's pretty good.

the previous games are not necessary but they're very good and there's good payoff for playing them all

if i were you i'd buy witcha 1 and start there

Well, good news since I already have the first one.

Anyway, I ended up deciding to buy it and that way I'll be motivated to read the books even faster, so thanks all.

Free game from humble ending at 4th of November.

I played and beat Cave Story+ in a single sesion today and man... that game is really good. It's a masterclass in using what you have to full effect. I played the freeware version ages ago and got stuck on the final boss--I'm glad to have finally seen it through fully. It's so charming.

I do wish the + version was a little closer to the freeware one, though. Original music and visuals are not enough--I missed the original translation, if only for Balrog's "HUZZAH!" Also, there was some weird, glitchy visual bug for the entire game, where certain tiles of the world would blink out of existence for a split second; it didn't affect gameplay or performance at all but it was annoying. And I dunno that I exited out of the end credits properly? Oh well.

But still, everyone should play Cave Story+. No excuses. Some real GOAT game design on display. It's incredibly fun.

Civ 6's reception on Steam is bad. Is it really that bad?

I love it. It's getting better with each update.

Only things Civ V has over Civ VI is William Morgan Sheppard, and the same issue as the Civ IV to V shuffle - it's hard to move to a new system that doesn't behave the same as the old one, so it can feel comfortable to just go back to the old one you know.

Is there something wrong with Steam releases lately? Every time a game is supposed to release at xx:00, it always takes a while now instead of directly releasing at that time.

Good to know updates make it better. I'm considering buying it (gotta ask my wife - she might say no); I have a coupon (50% off) on Steam for Civ 6 that brings the base price down to $40 CAD.

There's also Ikachan, from the same dev. It's way smaller in scope, but man, it's such an enjoyable game. I bought it on the 3DS because it was really cheap and I beat it in less than an hour, but it's so delightful that I probably finished it five or six times.

JaseC

gave away the keys to the kingdom.
It's missing some songs of the soundtrack which apparently was the reason it got removed back then.

The licensed tracks were just replaced with 6KB files of nothingness rather than removed from the game entirely, so that's easily fixed:

Reinserting the licensed tracks may just be a simple matter of replacing the modified ab.dta with the original version. I've uploaded it here if someone wants to give that a go.

Edit: Try overwriting the files in SOUNDS\MUSIC with these versions.

was thinking the same, its 39.99€ base price now.

Mafia I still holds up, had to download a couple mods to get it looking and running right for me but it's still an impressive looking game for how old it is and it plays really nice too. With this and SWAT 4, I gotta give GOG props for helping to bring back some real classics lost to time and licensing issues.

Gonna finish South Park first, but very much looking forward to it. Based on the first episode alone i liked BtS more than the original, hope they can keep that quality to the end.

Oh shit, I just unlocked the record ability in Talos Principle. This is going to get crazy. Already did one puzzle where I had to use a phantom node to redirect a beam, which is basically the tutorial for way more complicated stuff later on I guess

Did you do the true ending? I don't want to spoil, but the process of obtaining it made it become from a great game to one of my favorite games of all time.

If you liked CS, give Kero blaster a try, made by the same guy and plays beautifully.

Wasn't good enough for the true ending, but I'm looking forward to it in a replay sometime.

And, Kero Blaster... I don't remember what disinterested me in it anymore. I think it was something to do with the controls. But right now it's hard not to add it to my wishlist, so I will.
