Is anyone else feeling like Dall-e's censor has gotten much worse already? It feels like it's blocking everything. I just was trying a photo with "women waiting in line at a kiosk" with a joke about what game they're buying in the background, and it didn't really matter what my prompt contained or the rest of the image, it basically ended up with a "content blocked" image every damn time until I removed the word "women."

It's like even a random photo of women on a street gets blocked now because it chooses instagram-styled influencer women by default given the nature of internet images it trained on, but then rejects its own output immediately if it's even remotely attractive. Either it's much worse today or I'm just running into bugs.

Experimented with this simple prompt:
manga as drawn by [artist name], drawn with ink and ink wash, raster tone work

Tried it a few times with the names of different artists just to see if the system picked up on their styles. It did not have a clue about lesser known artists like Kazurou Inoue and dreamed up inaccurate interpretations. The more famous artists? No problem and this is one of the results when I tried Masamune Shirow. Except for being waaaay too AGGRESSIVELY MASCULINE for Shirow. God damn! It does look like something he could draw for Appleseed Volume 5.

Give it a few years and fan fiction/doujinshi will reach a new level when they create comics with AI specifically feed an artists entire body of work. The barrier to entry will be lowered.
Artists will use it too of course, train the AI with style sheets and examples of their own art. Give the AI a rough sketch with page layout, text and it spits out an inked, lettered and/or coloured page in a few seconds.

Sci-fi based (where magitek is a key element of the gameplay)
tZbRK0k.jpg

In the kingdom of Aetheria, a land where magitek and magic coalesce, a massive capital city is under siege by an enigmatic and immensely powerful force. Within the besieged city walls, four unlikely heroes find themselves imprisoned together, each with a unique set of skills that make them formidable even in the direst of situations.

Aria, the fiery assassin, Gaius, the kind-hearted magitech commando, Syphus, the cunning hacker and black mage, and Eleven, the skilled swordsman with a forgotten past, are given a chance at freedom. The kingdom's leaders, aware of their individual talents, offer them a top-secret mission critical to the survival of Aetheria.

The siege is not just a physical onslaught; the enemy is using advanced magitech and dark magic, threatening to tear down the protective wards that keep the kingdom safe. The fate of Aetheria hangs in balance, and the four heroes are entrusted with a mission to infiltrate the enemy's stronghold and dismantle their devastating magitek weapon.

United by necessity, the four embark on a journey filled with danger, discovery, and camaraderie. Along the way, they unravel a deep-rooted conspiracy that not only threatens Aetheria but the entire world. Each encounter tests their abilities and forges a powerful bond between them. Aria's agility and stealth, Gaius's mastery over magitek weaponry, Syphus's aether manipulation, and Eleven's swordsmanship become their greatest assets as they navigate through treacherous terrains, decode intricate security systems, and face formidable foes.

As the heroes delve deeper into the enemy's plans, they uncover shocking truths about their own pasts and the origin of magitekitself. The journey challenges their beliefs, strengthens their resolve, and forces them to confront their inner demons.

Amidst epic battles, ingenious heists, and heart-wrenching sacrifices, the heroes learn that the true power lies not just in their individual skills, but in their ability to trust and support each other. Together, they must face the ultimate showdown, battling not only the enemy forces but also the darkness within, to save Aetheria from destruction.

The heroes will discover that the key to victory lies not just in their magitek abilities but in the strength of their unity, as they become the last line of defense for their kingdom and the beacon of hope in a world on the brink of chaos.

In the mystical realm of Eldoria, where steampunk technology and magic intertwine, a young prodigy named Odessa dreams of becoming a renowned engineer, following in the footsteps of her legendary grandfather, Cid. Eldoria is a kingdom known for its innovative engineering marvels, including the magnificent airships that grace its skies.
The tale unfolds on the maiden voyage of Eldoria's latest masterpiece, the Skylark, piloted by none other than the esteemed Cid himself. On a day that was supposed to be a celebration of ingenuity and progress, the skies turn ominous. Mid-flight, the Skylark is viciously attacked by Doomgaze, a fearsome creature of ancient legend believed to be extinct. Despite Cid's valiant efforts, the airship crashes into a forbidden region outside the kingdom, leaving its crew, including Odessa, in dire straits.
Captive in a mysterious land, the crew soon finds themselves rescued by a local hero, Aric, who recognizes the potential within Odessa. Aric reveals a grim truth: Doomgaze's return is an omen, foretelling a catastrophe that could consume the entire world. Eldoria, it seems, is merely the first target in a grand scheme to plunge the world into chaos.
Odessa, now driven by a newfound purpose, teams up with Aric and a band of diverse allies, each possessing unique skills and abilities. Together, they embark on a perilous quest to uncover ancient relics, hidden secrets, and lost civilizations, all while navigating treacherous terrains and battling formidable foes. The fate of the world hangs in the balance, and Odessa's ingenuity and determination become their greatest assets.
Players will experience a captivating narrative filled with twists and turns, exploring a beautifully crafted world teeming with both magic and machine. As Odessa, players will solve intricate puzzles, upgrade and customize airships, and engage in strategic turn-based battles against powerful adversaries. Along the way, they will forge deep connections with their companions, each with their own compelling stories and backgrounds.
With stunning visuals, a mesmerizing soundtrack, and a rich, immersive gameplay experience, the game invites players to embark on an epic journey where the strength of friendship, the power of innovation, and the pursuit of hope will determine the fate of Eldoria and the world beyond.

This is the future but will also put tons a people out of job. Crazy.
Given how blizzard is already considering using AI for some of their assets, (and we know how that company can be) you might be right.
The one positive is that anyone who wants to make a game with few resources, can do so on the cheap.

It might mean that the next generation of indie devs will be able to compete against the big dudes on quality, which would be cool to see.

Awesome that it worked out for you, I'm still looking for something to help.me with 3D assets lol

Wait whichever generator did you use and can it do concept art in T-poses?

I'm hoping for a less corporate version once it hits normal ChatGPT.
Unlikely, that's the same overlords.

It's a sad state of affairs, but the industry leader in AI funding (OpenAI) behind these models and ChatGPT is deeply, unflinchingly committed to censorship at every level. They've been controlling "safety" of responses for a long time on chat models, and on image models have been injecting hidden diversity tags since day 1. You'll notice that if you type a random job like "construction worker" you'll randomly get black female construction worker, east asian, etc -- because they have automatic tag injections to modify prompts and diversify all humans represented. Maybe that sounds mild, but it's pretty annoying when asking for eg. a medieval knight ends up giving you a historical impossibility.

The best avenue for non-censored models is the true open source community of Stable Diffusion models, trained LoRAs, etc (eg. https://civitai.com/models). Those models aren't as powerful in a general sense yet as Dall-e 3 but get better all the time, and can be just as powerful for specific interests or concepts that have been fine-tuned by the community.

I just used Dall.e 3. Not working on any game right now, just wanted to check how easy it is to generate simple assets with it.
I'm sure that more complex 3D stuff for game development using AI is just around the corner, these things are getting better and better so fast.

For 3D modeling, I would expect Neural Radiance Fields to be the source of innovation, and they'll likely be mindblowing in just a few more years.

This is great (except for the artists i guess) and here's the thing i keep asking myself: this thing is based on art made by humans. What happens if there is no more art made by humans because we cannibalized all art with this thing? How will this thing make new stuff without new human made art because no new human artists are being born/made? At some point the cup will be empty. Has anyone else wondered this? Sorry if this is not the right place to ask such a question...

Given how much art humanity has created in the last century alone and how much has been digitized, these algorithms should be good to go for quite a while. The only limitations are the complexity of the algorithm itself and the art available, and this calculation is already quite large.
A push for the eradication of digitalized human made art to prevent artificial creations seems very unlikely.

And if these algorithms really are developed into a more intelligent form I'm sure they can "draw" their own artistic conclusion without the need for new input.

While it will certainly harm many artists in short term, I can see human art rising in value should artificially created things outweigh the available human made art. The exact outcome is hard to predict and things won't go smooth and nice.

I guess becoming an artist should be considered a dumb career choice by now even if you have talent, even if you have a ton of talent. A computer will do your job exactly as well as you but a gajillion times faster. I guess animated movies might come back if the development continues, but with detail equal to 3D animations and ILM special effects.

You don't "become" an artist (you either are an artist or not) and artistry as a "career choice" has always been a stupid move, even prior to the rise of Dall-E and Co. There is never a guarantee you will be able to pay the bills as an artist and success in the arts and crafts is more happenstance than anything else (connections help too of course). 10% talent, 90% luck and connections. Make art on the side, be an artist after your dayjob but heck, don't waste your student loans studiying art. "Artistry" is an extremely privileged occupation - for every artist that can pay the bills with his art, there is a thousand starving artists trying to get by doing soul crushing commissions for other people or some corporate id or advertisement stuff...

Prey 2 (Arkane), two fairly pedestrian covers:

1. I like the three main characters (multiplayer component?). The red mahogany desk and the coffee cup hiding in the shadows behind the cover are a nice touch, I didn't prompt them.
OIG.jzOWdyxB56xSDh8OzfwO

2. In the second one I like the vehicles/alien ships in the background, but it's a bit too Halo.
