Xbox to address multi platform games in spring, says former employee

A ryzen 3600 it's probably miles better than the ones in Consoles they are very nerfed versions of the ones encountered in Desktop.
It's not that a huge difference. The PS5 CPU does have cutbacks and runs at lower clocks but it's also 16 threads while the 3600 is 12 threads. If they bump the clocks up to around 4.1ghz in the pro as rumoured I believe it should perform as good if not better than the 3600 and I don't see why 60fps Starfield on it wouldn't be possible. If it comes to the platform and if they bother to put the effort in to get it there is another matter.

If you think Starfield is going to get praised now that it comes on PS, you had another thing coming. Bethesda was sold for a reason, they were getting worse as a developer. Starfield was their chance at redemption and they blew it. It is genuinely a worse game than what they used to make before. If it was launched day and date on PS then there would have been more people sucked into buying it sight unseen. But now that its flaws are known there will only be some people who actually like the game warts and all, who would pay for it now.
?? Did you misquote? I did not say anything about Starfield. I do have over 100 hours in Starfield but have been critical of it. I stopped playing when it deleted some of my saves and set me back an entire run. I will probably not play it again other than to check out the DLC that I have already paid for.

Ah, sorry. I was not sure what kind of posts you were saying should be scrubbed. Fair enough.

No. Just receipts from all of the Sony/XBox games bashing. IMO, it goes both ways and hardcore fanatics from both sides are going to eat some crow. Probably myself included. :messenger_tears_of_joy:

Everything reaks of phil not onboard with this stuff, greenberg and booty probably punching air right now.

Sara doesn't have the history of fighting sony, so alot easier for her to be the one to lead on this strategy.

100% this!

The hilarious part of it is that Sony can solve their profitability issues now by increasing the prices for PS5 to 600-700 as they won't have competition anyway :messenger_tears_of_joy:
That's not how hardware sales work. You just keep redesigning the hardware to be cheaper to make but keep selling it at the same price. Get with the program.

(PS2 final re-design at the end of its life was a flimsy piece of easily damaged garbage, but at least it was cheap and people know what they paid for)

Why do you think Nvidia'a consumer GPU are that expensive? Why do you think Apple's devices are that expensive?

It is not the job of a company to keep their competition on life support. Xbox is dying because it killled itself. Someone else will rise to fill that space. That is competition. Sony had NOT been caring about Xbox for a long time. That is why PS4 is still so very expensive even now; they didn't bother to sell it at cost because Xbox wasn't a threat anymore.

Basically Xbox stopped being competition YEARS ago. Too late to complain now. This is just them finally quitting so someone else, Amazon perhaps, can fill that space.

How do they leak all this shit and not just message it properly.

What a mental company lmao. Yup, looks like it's all coming now.

So they literally just launch the game on playstaion 6 months later. How long until its day one? A year or two.

They've officially given up completely and are just after software sales. How long does gamepass survive now?

It's over Jim.

What are you talking about? I was saying that now Sony can just increase their hardware prices and you started to post some stuff about "life support" or whatever. You have agreed with me literally in this very post BTW :messenger_tears_of_joy:

Sony doesn't make much money from hardware, it is not the focus. Increasing hardware price doesn't make sense because it is the razor blade model. You want better penetration to sell software. Sony tried expensive hardware with PS3 and they are not trying that again. Expensive GAMES though? That is on the cards.

Difference I would imagine is that Nvidia's main focus is margins/profit from hardware, where as PlayStation is profit from games/software.

I would have thought GP carries on as before and is still their hook for trying to keep some customer loyalty/incentive. But they squandered and lost mine a long time ago. Mismanagement in action, as it has been for some considerable time now unfortunately.

Another thing I hadn't considered is - if MS are third party, it gives them greater opportunity to acquire more developers and publishers seen as "monopolistic practices" will no longer hold much leverage against them.

I guess they could just turn into Tencent and start vacuuming up Ubisoft and EA.

So the same should apply to Starfield then. Drop your prediction. When is it showing up? Here is mine. They're never bringing that shit to Playstation since it's an evergreen title and entices customers to consider their console.
Everyone in their life has bad takes from time to time, but this is one of the funniest to me. Not even like 24 hours after this prediction and... Oops.

I'm surprised nothing has been said. There are more and more details coming out seemingly by the hour, with nothing from Microsoft themselves.

I figured they'd try to say something. The meltdowns are insane on the internet right now, honestly.

I knew they'd go all-in on Game Pass, but I don't think it's gonna move the needle.

Someone said Starfield was their "test" on exclusivity bolstering their numbers and whatever their metrics were, it failed miserably.

They can't buy Ubisoft.

They are #2 on X right now.

I mean, this could potentially be the most shocking news since Segas exit from the console making space. I feel like Microsoft should respond, as a lot of folks are considering this the death of Xbox and I'd think they'd want to get ahead of that..

Hahahah spring?! If they don’t respond it would be insane but also think theyll
Backtracks massively , recon some of these will go back to being exclusives cos of the meltdowns.

A big shout out to all the Xbox players. Thank you for your service as beta testers for Halo Infinite, Starfield and all the other games coming to Playstation.
Still doesn’t make any sense.
So, Microsoft has been coming up with some pretty interesting slogans for XBONE lately:

And after being inspired by this quote from Wario:

I thought hey, maybe we can have some fun with this!

So, here are the rules:

1. Make it funny!

2. Cut the smug/snark to a minimum, a little goes a long way

3. Have fun!

It is ok, trust in Phil, you all owed him one. Remember he turned around Xbox One ship, he giveth you GPU, he made Xbox a very strong suite of first party devs.

He is not afraid to make changes.

This is the time you put forward your faith. At worst, you are saving $499 for a separate box. But the Xbox brand, the Xbox Identity will go on, lives on strongly. 💚

I agree, but Phil Spencer has made a point to address things like this in the past, even on twitter. Wasn't that long ago he addressed the data leak saying a lot of things have changed since then. Someone asked him directly if there would be another Xbox on twitter and he said there would. Spencer has made himself available for many interviews in the past which have included a lot of speculation like the things we see here and he is known for being far more candid than other executives. So folks have become accustomed to Phil Spencer speaking about things and as far as all this multiplatform rumblings that have been going on weeks now, he hasn't said a word outside of addressing a statement by Tim Stuart talking about first party "experiences" and Game Pass on other platforms. Spencer shot down the Game Pass reference, but said nothing on first party games.
That is indeed true, but I don't think people should expect them to comment this way for every topic.

They'll have a plan on how they want to communicate this and they won't rush that just because someone on Twitter asks them about a rumour.

As much fun this can be for some, it's a shame how Microsoft fumbled the entire market after and during the 360ERA. They ignored Europe, didn't market it properly, took ages for Xbox Live to be released in a functional state in most of Europe, while PSN was already working with local currencies (eastern europe etc).

The TV TV TV bit killed it, but I think what really killed it for me, is how they kept moving the goalpost. It's like that sketch in South Park where GRRM is saying the new book is coming soon. My big issue is that if Microsoft does go away in a major capacity, Sony will be the only major player. That's... not good, you'll end up with a situation like the current Nvidia and AMD market where Nvidia doesn't even have to try anymore.
