Resident Evil 6: Bro-Splosion Announced, Nov 20 PS3/360, PC Later, PR/Trailer In OP

You guys are forgetting the other reason it has to be Ashley: the zombie President of the United States is the first thing you see in the trailer.

Unfortunately, Leon apparently wasn't a bad enough dude.

The old zombies are back!

Finally Capcom!

TAJ

Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.
Regular zombies? I don't remember zombies running and jumping at me in the older RE games.

28 Days Later wasn't out yet. What do you expect them to do, come up with an idea on their own?
On a related note, I'd never seen Dr Hauzer before. (I'd played Alone in the Dark and Sweet Home, though) Hoooooooooly shit.

I'm just saying, it seems REALLY odd that people are praising the return of zombies when they're pretty much behaving like reskinned Ganados/Majini. Seems very superficial.

Okay i don't mean to be a hater but does anybody else also notice how much the polygon counts have gone down compared to RE5? It seriously looks much more low res.

Yes and the lighting model is "less expensive". There are also more obscure areas.
MT framework already had a Level of Detail system but the zombie models from RE6 at a fair distance contain less polygons than the lowest LOD model of the ganados in RE5. They reduced the overal quality of individual entities.

What this means -----> There will be a lot more enemies and people on screen. Going to be chaotic.

RE5 wasn't shit because of it being actiony

RE5 was shit because of:
- Tank controls in a game that has turned from survival horror to 3rd person action game.
- Shit real time limited menu
- Force coop
- Horrible encounter design
- Retard Partner AI
- Global Saturation

I watched the trailer again and the music got really good near the end.

I'm hyped. But, seriously, Capcom, DON'T SCREW PC OWNERS OVER WITH THIS ONE.

I'd be in the dick
I'm really surprised by the reactions in here. RE4 proved that the franchise can excel as an action series and the games have always been on the ridiculous side of things, even when they were horror oriented. This trailer really made it look like they're really trying to expand the gameplay dynamics compared to 5, which just tried to be 4 and didn't quite live up (despite being better than most give it credit for). At least this looks like an actual new installment and probably isn't going to be terrible like Operation Raccoon City.

Haman Discharged... she smells nice
Saw the trailer, thought it looked good. Gonna be there day 1 for the console release and then double-dip on PC to co-op with a PC buddy.

Put me in the Rebecca Refugee Camp, I don't think that's Ashley following Alex Wesker around; would make more sense if Rebecca joined up with BSAA or is helping out her ex-STARS pals and tracked down/is assisting this Alex dude.

EDIT: Plus the situation seems to mirror the Rebecca/Billy relationship dynamics in RE0.

I wish you could play as a regular person/ civilian. That would bring the horror back.

this is not the direction I wished it would go in. Oh well/

Now see, this is really cool, enemies that punish players for being too stationary and defensive.

I hope they end up doing this a lot. TPS players will probably bitch about it, but it would be cool if the Chris sections don't resort to him hiding behind a chest-high wall and blind-firing at every enemy.

While it would make sense if it... well was anyone other than Ashley, that voice sounded exactly like Ashley. That, and I doubt even Capcom would try to pull the "blonde woman but she's REALLY [x]" a second time. But it could just be a VA who sounds remarkably like Ashley's VA.

You forgot stupid Tomb Raider style puzzles (Ancient ruins is easily the most disgusting and boring location)

I'm personally glad they didn't go back to the old formula(why does anyone even have a glimmer of hope of that after RE5?). I don't like the old games much at all. But I love RE4 and 5.
This looks awesome.

And from what I remember REmake (for the Gamecube) did have regular zombies run. But it was after you kill a (certain?) zombie and they will come back as crimson head zombies.

Forgot to contribute on my take on the trailer: It's about fucking time.

edit: watching youtube vids of it now....and they didn't really run but walk faster. :\ And looking back at it. This game has aged VERY well.

Resident Evil 5 was one of my top 5 games this gen and the only game released in the last five years that I've replayed multiple times. Am I seriously this disconnected from the world that I could enjoy the game so much while almost everyone else says it is complete shit? How much of that reaction is just hyperbole because it wasn't RE4 all over again?

I mean I really liked the game. I liked it more than RE4, which I found to be too long and tedious. I'd still prefer a new game be made in the style of REmake, but damn. I seriously don't understand the hatred.

I'm a huge Gears of War 3 fan, but fighting the AI mostly comes down to hiding behind cover and taking shots when you can. I like it to be more dynamic, like Vanquish, which actively encourages you to NOT stay in cover for a very long time and passing challenging encounters is more about mastering the controls and powers the suit gives you.

I found it to be really fun.

I liked mercs far more than the campaign though, way better than RE4 mercs IMO.

I'm glad they are finally pairing up Chris & Leon. The sexual tension will be palpable.

I hope they become the bestest of BFFs. (And just a reminder, Leon is the dude bro, not Chris.)

Maybe it's just my crazy head. But that kinda looked like a western game trying to act eastern.

Could be just the improved voice acting.

But it's all good because Capcom choose the best way to start things off: By making the president a zombie.

I liked RE 4 more than 5 but i also loved 5 and replayed it as well. I am a diehard RE fan back to day 1 but i realized that as much as people may want that style to return it was clear that style was played out after CV.

I mean the tone of the RE games is always going to be dark apocalyptic type shit no matter if the gameplay is action based or not and thats really what i want out of it.

Finally watched the trailer. I'm always okay with more Troy Baker and Laura Bailey. Too many quick cuts, but the gameplay looks interesting. I like that slide turn move that Leon uses.

I don't see anything that would make you feel that way. It must be in your head. If anything, the converse is true.

Im also excited as fuck they are proclaiming this the most ambitious and feature rich title in the series. Capcom delivers production value out the ass on these games and i loves them for it.

Umm.

Potential? Yes.

This does not look like a resident evil game though! It is clear that Capcom has given up the series' history in favor of the Call of Duty model or something? I mean, it will make them money, so I can't blame them.

But I miss Resident Evil 4. Oh so dearly. :0(
