Currently sitting pretty at number one on the leaderboard for Caverns of Minos, kicking ass with a good 300k between me and second. The controls for this game on iPad are amazing, and when I learned that I can curve bullets I never looked back. I even had about 7 extra lives at the end of the last level. Awesome fun.

The gauntlet has been laid down, Foob! Chase me, chase me!

Just added a $50 iTunes gift card from Christmas and it's already burning a hole in my pocket. I was debating between Dodonpachi and Bug Princess, and while I like Resurrection more based on the Lite version, I wanted a little creativity/uniqueness to my first Cave game. So I got Bug Princess. Kinda low-res on iPad though. :(

For what it's worth, every Cave release aside from Espgaluda II HD (iPad 2 only) has the same resolution graphics (the original arcade versions only rendered at 240x320). Bug Princess just has the bonus of not having the zoom button ready to screw you over when you accidentally slide your finger on it.

Congratulations, you really deserve it!

Also picked up Smash Cops and I'm not impressed. It seems.. messy. Thought it might get better after 20 minutes of play and it just seemed to get more frustrating.

Contemplating SoulCalibur.

Soul calibur is pretty good i have to say. Dont feel like i wasted money

A really fun endless climber was released over a week ago and I haven't seen any talk of it on here. It's called / ESCAPE \, has pixel graphics and you can read more about it here:

Try out the Flash demo:

Appstore link:

just tried the flash demo but I cannot get into it... but I can see why it might be addictive (I just found it annoying)

Oh I remember that from a lil' while ago, there was a GAF thread for it.

If I could get one flash game ported to iOS it'd be that weird side scrolling Action-RPG one from a couple weeks ago. That was real good, I'd totally drop a buck or two on that if it got ported... and If I could remember the name!

No one shall be brought before our LORD David Bowie without the true and secret knowledge of the Photoshop. For in that time, so shall He appear.
May I ask why? It's about as creative as the last few Mario Karts. Yeah, it's lacking unless you put your hand in your pocket but it's not too bad for free.
Maybe it'd be best if you sat the next few plays out.

Didn't seemed polish. Also doesn't help that I don't like the latest Mario Karts

Some drops going on right now, Gameloft dropped some to a buck, EA dropped some stuff to a buck, King of Fighters dropped to $3 I think, along with The Bard's Tale for $3.

Picked up Bard's Tale, myself

Speaking of which anything worth it from the Gameloft/EA sale?

Is it Slayin' you're thinking of?

I've got my eye on that Rainbow Six game.

My total positive experience with iOS gaming has been Cut the Rope, and a brief flirtation with Angry Birds. Cut the Rope probably remains the finest $1 I've ever spent in my life.

What do I play next!?

iOS gaming is the first time I saw my mom actually play a video game. I started her with a simple game: Where's my Water.
after couple of minutes she was hook. Next thing u know I was going to sleep at 3am and she was still playing.

She didn't like Spy Mouse so I gave her another simple game. Cut the Rope

Just noticed Gameloft has a list on presumably all their games just saw it on N.O.V.A. 2 store page.

The Chinese New Year?

In that case, I would choose

- Rainbow Six
- SpiderMan
- Fast Five

Most of these games you can look on youtube for gameplay, though. GameLoft likes to recycle their engine, so it looks very samey.

Same with my wife. She started out on Angry Birds, and now she has a 150 score on Super Crate Box.

Thanks, I'll look into those.

Ipad2 jailbreak is out. Hero Academy looks great with retina pad. Unfortunately my app store is apparently now broken.

Nah, it was like 16-bit styled, and back and forth across one plane, you tried to rack up a high score by gaining levels. It reminded me a smidgen (a very small smidgen) of a distilled (further!) Half Min Hero in a way.

Oh man Half Min hero would be awesome on iOS. I love that damn game, i wish we could get the sequel.

Yeah, the game you're talking about is Slayin', I'm pretty sure.

That is it, thank you, yeah that one would be fun on iOS too, I think. Box on the flash site is so tiny on my 1080p monitor.

She's better than me

I was ready to throw a party when I broke 40 in that game (I think 52 is my high score now...)

Just to clarify, the "RPG" part of Dungeon Hunter is only for as long as you can keep a single game going, right? The stuff you gain throughout a single run doesn't carry over? Just want to make sure I'm not missing something. So far, it seems more like a high-scores game than a true RPG. Cool concept, but kinda losing interest quick without feeling like I'm working toward something and/or building up a character.

Weird they left out Hector episode 1 for iPhone. But anyone remotely interested in more puzzle/adventure games should get all the Hector games, and Puzzle Agents. Great stuff.

I'm often interested in telltale's games, having bought puzzle agent 1 and back to the future ep 1, but they run like shit.

I also believe that they didn't publish the first hector game, which would explain why it's not a part of this sale.

I have seen some great reviews for Kingdom Rush. The flash version seems quite fun.

Damn these addictive tower defense games!

After buying the game before I left for work, I quickly convinced 2 coworkers to buy the game on the spot while playing during a lunch break.

I then very nearly threw my iPad across the train on my way home in frustration.

This game is compelling.
