So excited about Peace Walker VITA.

Does the inclusion of ad-hoc party basically mean that the VITA version will have anywhere-online without the need of a PS3?

Why would anyone buy both version for transfarring? I still dont get that concept, unless Kojima is building an rpg or multiplayer game.

You wouldn't unless you're a hardcore fan or something.

I feel like the Vita version would serve me better but the PS3 version comes out first so.....

this Transfarring is worthless if you have to buy both versions. If Sony were smart they would be encouraging publishers to allow one version to be playable over both PS3 and Vita, especially with ports and remakes like MGS and FFX.

Does this confirm that the standard Transfarring model will be two full-priced SKUs sold separately? The feature is DOA, in that case.

The 3DS was not mocked for having ports, it was mocked for having next to no games.
SSF4 3D and OOT are considered the two best games on the system after all.

I remember a lot of people harping on the fact that SF64, MGS3, and OoT were three of Nintendo's biggest game on the system.

And here we are at TGS where the big news are MGS ports, a FFX port, and a UMvC3 port for Vita. Yay?

But Sony's biggest games on the system are not ports they are new games using existing IPs (Uncharted, Resistance, LBP and all the smaller/PSN type stuff)

multiplatform games like UMvsCP3 are not exactly the same as remakes of old games. Even MGS HD collection is a multiplatform remake, 360 PS3 Vita. And as said just above, VIta has a good collection of new games, some brand new, some sequels to existing IPs.

I don't understand. Is the Vita becoming a portable PS3? Are these cross games (FFX, UMvC3, this) a buy one copy deal or are they going to be separate at retail? EXPLAIN SOMEONE.

I'm in the boat with people pointing out that no one will use transfarring on games that you have to buy 2 separate copies of. I'm totally buying the MGS collection for PS3 though.

If only they did things in Steam-like fashion, and gave you a "cd key" with your copy of the collection. Then you could download a virtual copy to your Vita using that cd key that only works once and activates to a single Vita.

We need to ban this shit. Im serious, its rampant as hell in Vita and 3DS threads. New systems, especially handhelds generally get a lot of fucking ports early in their lifetimes. It happens. Its always happened. Get over it.

Correct. And it's what I've been saying since PS3/PSP2 ports have been announced: They need to BUNDLE them together to even get an install base on the PSP2 going.

What was that one Vita/PS3 game where you buy one and get both? It looked like Diablo and has saving to the cloud, which is Transfarring, but not actually called Transfarring.

it's not up to Sony, Sony didn't even come up with the term 'transfaring'. and good luck for Sony if they try forcing publishers to give away 2 game for 1 price.

They need to just cancel MGS3D at this point, it's the worst joke in gaming right now.

Ruin, which is on a whole other level of cross platform save compatibility that current psone game or mini have between ps3/psp. you can save state in Ruin ps3/vita to cloud storage, then load state in other device in seconds.

Yea that is cool as fuck, all games should do this, kind of like a Blu-Ray combo pack where you get the DVD and the Blu Ray for like 5 extra bucks.

Why? It's a nice feature if you want it. With MGS3DS you will have no "Transferring"-feature or with other mobile ports.

I have the same question. And if so, will the camera have analog stick control? I hated the controls on the PW demo and never bothered purchasing the full game.

They should! Even if the port is of poor quality, it's still one of the finest games ever made and should be played. If 3DS is their only way to enjoy it, they should still play it!
