So, any more PSP games not downloadable on Vita? I've seen Phantasy Star Portable 2 and some R-Type game mentioned on this thread. I own PSP2 and I was looking forward to playing it on the Vita; not confirmed that it won't ever be possible, but still...

This is from the closed Japanese launch thread.
It's kind of hard to look for those games, since the backward compatibility list doesn't include games which aren't on it (which is kind of obvious).
This is everything I could find. :(

I finally got a chance to mess around with one of these things yesterday in Gamestop. Overall I was very impressed.

One thing I'm really looking forward to is trying a shooter with the dual analogs on the Vita. The sticks are pretty small and they seem to be quite sensitive so I'm a little worried that aiming won't be as smooth as it is when using a DS3 or 360 controller but hopefully I'm wrong. The buttons were also very small but I didn't really mind. The D-pad felt great to me.

Both seems great. Just a matter of preference. I'll go for Hori with the ease of putting it on. It seems like Hori recognize what a pain in the ass it is putting on a screen protector on perfectly and found a good solution towards that. I salute Hori for that and my Hori screen protector is still on my PSP for over 5 years now.

Now imagine the same game mixed with some decent online stuff from GT5 (seasonal events etc), and a campaign mode. Surely Sony could knock one of those out based on either GTPSP assets or GT4 assets pretty quickly?

For those asking or wondering about GTPSP, it's really fun. It doesn't have all the meat that the console version has but is just right for on the go. I remember playing some online matches via the ad hoc party. It's really fun and if you can do ad hoc party on Vita, hang on to you butts!

I keep getting that message every time I try to change the delivery options on my £5 ubisoft Vita games.

I took it as the Amazon version of 'I can't let you do that, Dave'.

I also have a Vita order with them that I intend to cancel...haven't tried yet.

For once Europe getting the best deal on launch hardware! Feels good man.

Feels weird just waiting for this to ship now. Last hardware I bought at launch was the DS, and the GBA before that. I chose... poorly. Hopefully my launch adoption here won't suffer a similar fate (can't see how, two sticks from the start, gorgeous bright screen, sexy sleek design)

So if I buy a US 3G/Wifi version, can I use any 3G SIM with it, or am I limited to At&t only? I am looking to import it from the US, since I use the US PSN anyway and games are region-free (right?). Just curious if I should bother with 3G (the location features carrier cells would enable would be cool over a long run, I hope) or put that money into a card...

Pretty nice launch line up, didn't even know. Still not sure if I'm day one, maybe waits for more games. PSone classics playable on it or is that still something to come in the future updates?

Those hori screen protectors are horribly ugly. I hate cases and screen protectors though. The vita is such a sexy device, i hate when that crap ruins it.


So because im vain I shall scratch my vita.






Also, weren't people saying Tactics Ogre didn't work on the vita? Has that been deemed to be not true? I really want to play that.

If sony is to be believed a future update will have ps1 emulation, ps2 emulation and the expansion (to what extent we don't know) of remote play.


They did say they didn't expect these things by launch... and they didn't lie about that - heh.

Curious why it wouldn't be compatible. Isn't the entire point of ad-hoc party that the PS3 simulates an ad-hoc connection - the PSP doesn't know anything special. So any game that works ad-hoc on vita locally, should work ad-hoc on vita over ad-hoc party?

(have I filled my quota of the phrase 'ad-hoc' do you think?)

Ah, wait, wait. I've messed this up >again<. Every time I see this question, a Lord of Apocalypse Q&A pops in my head. There was a question about online multiplayer and the answer was that while PSP version supports Ad-hoc party, there's no way to play online with the Vita version. No word on actual Vita ad-hoc party compatibility. As I don't have my PS3 with me here in Japan, I can't check if ad-hoc party works. :(

Sorry for the confusion.

The reports of people with japanese Vitas is that adhoc party works for PSP games on the Vita, but not for Vita games on the Vita. Common sense tells me the same thing it tells you, but for whatever reason that's not how it panned out.

Good enough for me. For now, that will do. Would any gaffer be willing to test? Maybe AHP had an update recently. I would tweet that to Yoshida as it would be nice to have for at least PSP games. Not holding my breath for Vita game support though.

Thanks. I don't want the earphones and I can wait for Frobisher Says so unless it's FAR cheaper I'll stick with the UK for safety's sake.
