update from f4wonline

"Vince Russo is out as TNA head writer. This news broke today although it went down several days ago. We'll have more later this afternoon in an audio update.

David Lagana is at the show but officially he is only a producer as this point, not a creative head. "

So they still say Russo is gone, but Lagana isn't official as the head yet.

Probably means that Jeff Hardy is going to win the title. Also, whoever in charge the problem is isn't there like 15 writers for TNA if I remember from that picture posted all the time.

Yup.

Clipped from PWinsider.com's story said:
As of late, the creative team of Russo and Matt Conway had been writing scripts for Impact. The scripts then went to Bruce Prichard for tinkering and then Eric Bischoff would put his own feedback in during production meetings at the Impact Wrestling tapings and PPVs.

Explains why there's so much change in direction there. Has to go through at least three set of hands before making it to TV.

RUSSO BACK TO WWE!!

I would actually like to see Russo go back to the WWE. It would help out the midcard/lower card guys alot. If not in a creative capacity, he would be good for the network or throw him in Legend's House with a bunch of angry wrestlers from the 80s and fun is sure to ensure:)

Somebody post the TNA creative meeting picture.

It's relevant and I need a laugh.

"Multiple TNA sources are now disputing a WrestleZone.com report that Vince Russo has been replaced by Dave Lagana on the TNA creative team. Lagana is at the TNA Against All Odds pay-per-view in Orlando, but sources say he's merely helping out. No announcement of any kind has been made to the crew and talent regarding Russo."

So who is right here?

So, guess who the Anonymous Raw GM will be revealed as?

So who is right here?

No ones right, TNA has the stench of mediocrity combined with the allure for egotistical performers, ineptism of highest order for the CEO/COO etc. and the casual flair for being nepotistical.

Therefore no one should or try to care for TNA.

Meant it as a joke but actually Russo being the anonymous GM could explain how inconsistent the character was. It was just Russo trying to swerve everyone.

"-The latest information is that Eric Bischoff would have been part of the decision to shift Vince Russo out of a position of power within the TNA Creative Structure. Our sources are guessing he's out, but details are being worked out. Nothing is confirmed, but the latest feeling is that he won't be retained in any capacity with TNA and details are being worked out.

-A Russo exit would mean more power and influence from Eric Bischoff, who has had an up and down relationship with Russo over the years, but consistently disagreed with him philosophically on how to approach booking and storytelling.

-Bruce Prichard remains the head of creative, with an official title as Senior V.P. of Programming and Talent Relations. Whereever Dave Lagana lands within the structure, he'd be working under Prichard and answering to Prichard and Bischoff.

-As of now, Lagana's role doesn't appear to be taking over the scope of duties that Russo had, and he is at this point only doing pre-tapes. He may end up helping write the actual Impact scripts, but creative direction would still be decided by Bischoff and Prichard.

-Nothing official is being said regarding Russo. If Russo were in good standing, by now someone in the know would have stepped up to quell rumors.

-Dave Lagana is downplaying his role, indicating he has not been promoted to Russo's old position. Another source says firmly that Lagana is helping with pre-tapes and may be in line for promotions, but along with Matt Conway, he is simply part of the creative structure and not in a position of power like Russo had (although diminished lately compared to recent years). I can't think of any good wrestling ideas that Bischoff had in WCW, except the nWo, which he stole from Japanese wrestling. As long as they don't do bullshit finishes anymore, that would go a long way though.

The whole idea behind the cruiserweights was Bishoff's deal.

Thought that was something he stole from ECW. Although if he puts a strong push on the X division in TNA again that will be cool.

You know, Bishoff likes stealing ideas, and TNA loves factions....I wonder if TNA could steal Dragon Gate's convoluted faction storyline and run with their own.

TNA is having issues with their iPPV system it seems.

Here we go, working now.

JB and Tenay on commentary. Tazz is out due to a death in the family.

Vince Russo was only good because of his outlandish ideas that could be controlled and filtered by Vince and the WWF.

When he came to WCW, he was big shit, and there was nobody like Vince to hold the reigns on Russo and tell him "this is complete shit" once in a while.

That's why you had Ric Flair being put in figure four by his son whilst a giant bucket of blood was poured on top of them. It was the fact that the most absolute batshit crazy ideas that wouldn't get through the WWF, but some of the good ideas that he must have had at one time did.
