Game ain't bad you know. My only real complaints were that the candle section was infuriating and the game was possibly 25-30% too long.

Yeah, I do hear that it's pretty good but (a) I have too many games on my backlog, (2) it's too sizeable for my poor 16gig devices that are already chock full to bursting with awesome, and (~) if I am to be GAF's resident Gameloft hater then I really shouldn't be handing money out for their games :p

And if people are going to spend money on a Gameloft game, then I advise they throw a couple of quid over to BenSks for End Night. That game is not only great, but it's made by a single indie dev all by himself, a guy who could probably use the money a lot more than iOS's premier shovelware publishing house (and yeah, I am aware that Tintin is probably an acceptable game).

Don't blame you. It's not bad in a 'oh look, Gameloft are slowly learning' kinda way but it's not something you should jump on immediately. Also, that 850mb becomes a real burden with it being such a long game.

Has anyone played/bought Beat Hazard Ultra?

It's a port from the famous Beat Hazard for PC relased on Steam not so long ago
It uses your music library to create an arcadelike shump level

I downloaded it and it's kind of worse than the PC version for the controls but it's amazing that it uses your songs...!
I'd really want Audiosurf for iOS tho!

NO WHAT IS THIS GAME ABOUT TELL ME MORE

Yeah, I definitely agree. I had that with Steam as well, before upgrading my hard drive. Though it does help add urgency to finish it to free the space back up.

Grabbing Tintin though.

Just came to say you guys are great with the early updates and first impressions. Also Mirrors Edge ios is better than on 360.

Keep it up. Yes YOU

Was listening to the GiantBomb podcast this week and they had a discussion about Nintendo having Patent over the "D-Pad" design, hence why other manufacturers have circular pads rather then the usual + shape design. This has the exact shape of a Nintendo D-Pad. Hope they don't get any legal bother with it, as I'd love to buy one! :)

If it's round shape under the plastic (like the playstation d-pad) there are good to go.

Basically this. I find the game unplayable in its current state, and I'm not even epileptic.

Even without the music visualizer component, Infinity Field is better in every way.

I felt the game was mostly a very cool gimmick and nowhere near Infinity Field at first... But eh... No way man, this game is the shit. Especially once you've unlocked a bunch of perks including Insane and Suicidal modes. Loving it more and more... Infinity Field is amazing though, but I can see myself loving Beat Hazard even more pretty soon if it stays interesting.

Wimp. If you ain't twitching, you ain't playing it right.

200% all the way.

My man.

Beat Hazard is one of my fav games on the PC of the last couple years. When I saw the iOS version I jumped on it without thinking twice. While the controls arent perfect theyre good enough to make the experience one of my favorites on the iPhone. 200% its the only way to fly.

200% + Insane is wicked awesome. Look forward to unlocking Suicide.

Hell yeah. I miss my booming hi-fi and huge display, but I'm adapting nicely to the controls!

Now we need an Audiosurf port.

I skipped Insane and went straight for Suicide. There's little difference in the difficulty at that level and every point counts!

I really want to crack #1 on the 3-4 minute scoreboard but I just can't find that last million points. Being stuck at work, unable to play is killing me :(

Actually no. What matters is the visible plus. Playstation is OK because they have that plastic that comes up to make the plus look like 4 buttons.

Waht about the Dreamcast one then? It's exatcly like the on on a NES, just slightly more raised.

The handling of that game for mobiles is really bizarre. Zune HD gets a port, but not iOS or even the successor to Zune HD's design DNA.

Apparently there's this app called "Audi A1 Beat Drive" that's supposed to be a pretty good clone, but it's UK only.

Not to fond on that fake wooden finish around the sides of the 8-bitty, i'd go with pure black with a white face or something, if it's stickers they are coming straight off :)

I too will bold this sentence, but in a shock twist, I wholeheartedly agree with you. Having said that, I hated Mirrors Edge so much that the iOS version would have to kneecap me for me to hate it more. Didn't stop me buying it on 360, PS3 and PC though. God only knows why.

I'll keep my fingers crossed. I'm in the UK so I'll check the A1 app out. I remember seeing it before but I figured it was probably just a re-skinned Real Racing.

Played Beat Hazard. Don't really under how exactly it utilizes my songs. It seems the song is just playing in the background and doesn't have much to do with the game itself.

Nintendo's patent is from 1985 and patents are valid for 20 years so it expired in 2005.

And then the LORD David Bowie saith to his Son, Jonny Depp: 'Go, and spread my image amongst the cosmos. For every living thing is in anguish and only the LIGHT shall give them reprieve.'
If they don't do it, I bet someone will come up with a light little clip that bolts the controller to the iPhone too, like a slim metal band that clips both together from the back. That thing would be perfect then.

The last page of the instructions give you a brief overview. In essence, everything is affected by your music. I'm surprised you didn't notice anything, have you played many tracks?

just beat the high score on 'Tales of the Arabian Knights®' playing The Pinball Arcade on iOS! See if you've got the flipper skills to do better.

That's odd, this is the game that by far has done the best job of any game I've ever played of making everything actually react to the music that you can choose, it's exceptionally well done in that regard imo. Perhaps if you play something like fast metal tracks with no contrast (no slow parts etc) it might not be distinguishable but mostly Beat Hazard is amazing at visualizing and having the levels constructed based on the music.

works for Gamestop (lol)
I don't really understand how people are having problems navigating the menu in Beat Hazard Ultra. Seemed pretty easy to figure out. I mean, unless you've been living under a rock and decided to use iOS for the first time ever, then I can see it being a problem.

Not sure if it has been posted but my AppShopper just notified me that The Adventures of Tintin is on sale, remember some GAFers talking positive about it.

The price is great but I don't like that it doesn't hold my phone. I know there is one they showed at CES that does that but if I remember correctly that one is going to be significantly more expensive.

Yeah, that's the only thing I don't like about it. I've still got my eye on that other iCade device for phones/touches coming out. The one that fits the device in the middle and is ugly as sin.

Got a code from a friend for Box Cat yesterday - meh. Been playing Bean's Quest and Taiko Drum Master mostly.
