This was my first time installing a screen protector, and it came out great. Save for one damn tiny speck of dust at the very bottom of the screen. Like 1/64 of an inch up. I'm going to live with it for a bit.

I can't copy Ys 1&2 Chronicles over on my US Vita. Don't know if anyone else has had issues.

It's been sort of hit or miss on the copying. I would advise new users to have the PS3 on, plug the Vita USB cable in, and then turn on the manager in the Vita when it starts to bounce. As soon as the cable is plugged in your PS3 will auto detect it and tell the Vita to connect. You will know how this works when you see it.

Legend of Heroes and Ys Seven copied just fine though.

Alcohol swabs are great for both prepping a screen for a protective covering as well as cleaning it after application. My $0.02.

Went on PSN last night to pick some random PSP game to see how it works on the Vita. Bought Warriors. Anyone have any thoughts on this? I don't have mine until the 22nd.

Woo-hoo! Screen protector applied with no disasters. Love how they used the Vita's analog stick and buttons as a guide to help angle the film.

This is the sexiest handheld evah.

The dpad is AWESOME! Doing strider stuff in UMvC3 without issue.

Please port 4 button fighters to this thing ASAP.

Damn, like on the PS3? I was hoping it'd be different this time around.

If your PS3 download speeds are slow, then you're doing it wrong. I average speeds greater than 1MB/s whether I'm wired or wireless, and I live in a populated residential area. Your slow speeds aren't the PSN's fault.

YS I & II is known to have problems. Seems to work on some and not work on others.

Vita has something in common with the portables in this pic.

I've went through all the tips and recommendations to fix it and nothing has ever changed. I don't get that problem anywhere else. I've just learned to except it since I rarely download anything on there.

I thought that too but I still fucked up the first one. The second one is a little messed up in the corner but I'll live with it. I can never put these on perfect :(

Sony says it's acceptable that it has one to three dead pixels. So looks like I'm going to have to get used to it. I'm sure I won't notice it over time.

I always buy two packs.

Honestly, here's my method.

1. Go into the bathroom and run the shower at full blast (hot water).
2. Steam up the room.
3. Wipe down the device with micro-fiber.
4. Ready the protective film and put it on fast and decisively. Hemming and hawing is what screws things up.
5. Rub out air bubbles with cotton swab or micro-fiber cloth.

I've gotten so good at this because I've fouled numerous devices up in the past.

Found this:

http://www.geek.com/articles/games/...em-freezes-unresponsive-touchscreen-20111220/

Held power for ~20 seconds. Worked, but lost my progress. This better be a software and not a hardware problem...

E: Thanks for the pro-tips. Warning to everyone - do a quicksave over sleep mode whenever possible.

If you see the blue light where the home button is, press the home button instead of the power button. The home button if illuminated will wake it from sleep. I found it to be much more responsive than the power button.

Not sure if helps, but I opened these ports on my airport, and I normally max my 24Mbps connection, TCP: 80, 443, 5223 and UDP: 3478, 3479.

Edit: I've also read that some cable providers throttle PSN (especially on lower tiers) so maybe look it up.

Also manually enter DNS servers (ie. 4.2.2.1 / 4.2.2.2)... /2cents

"The Warriors" is actually a decent PSP game, but it's incredibly dark, so don't plan to play it outdoors or in a room with any windows...

I've played around with the ports on my router in the past to hopefully fix it and nothing has changed. But I'll try your recommendation out, thanks.

I'm sorry, but, when you pay this much for a product, you should have the right to return it if you're not satisfied within a limited return period. That's BS. It might be acceptable to them, not to me.

It is weird that gamestop did not text me to pick up my Vita, I pre ordered the FEB. Hope I can still pick it up today, or I will be one angry person.

GameStop didn't text me too. I walked over this morning and have my FEB plus other goodies now. Unit came almost fully charged for me.

Looks like I'm going to have to return it anyway, touchscreen is all out of whack, trying to type on it and it keeps messing up and inputing the wrong letter/number. looks like alignment is off. anyone else notice anything like this?

EDIT: Nevermind, reset and it fixed it. Going to contact amazon and have it replaced.

Picked up my FEB+ HSG this morning, as I conveniently had the day off from work. I am thoroughly impressed with the system so far. I just wish more of the psp games were transferrable without going through a ps3, as mine's still yellow-lighted. I still have my Go for those and ps1 games, at least though.

What's the recommendation on screen protectors though? Are the Sony brand ones decent? Or should I just grab some Hori?

I order from Amazon because they'll exchange it, no questions asked. When you pay 200+ bucks for a device, there are no acceptable number of dead pixels. I used to worry about getting them because EB/Gamestop were shitheads about returns, but with Amazon it's never a concern anymore.

of course you won't, you don't want a vita, but you think is worthy of your time to enter the PSVita thread and bitch a people that do.

That's a completely logical way to operate.
I've had a Vita pre-ordered for weeks and I've been interested in it from the minute I heard NGP... what exactly are you going on about?

I also picked up a DS, 3DS, and PSP at launch. You can insult me about a lot of things, but try to avoid the topic of handheld gaming. I love it.

Im very happy with the Sony protective film. Barely notice its on there and the application process is very easy.

You can also use the second film to cover the rear touch pad should you choose.

All I got for the Vernal Equinox was this stupid tag
Uh...My Vita won't wake up. Anyone have issues with theirs yet? This is highly disturbing...

Plug it in (don't use USB) and hold down the power button for around 30 seconds.

This has only happened to me twice, and both times it occurred when I had the Vita plugged into my PC and it went to sleep.

Don't need to do all that. First, try to wipe the screen as best as you can with microfiber cloth. If you get dust / dirt underneath protector, use scotch tape. Put 1 on corner near the dust / dirt, lift the protector and slide another scotch tape to stick the dust / dirt away from the protector. Repeat if you need to remove more.

Go in using the default account first. Update and then sign in using your real PSN account.

EDIT: Firmware 1.60 45% updated !

my screen has no problems whatsoever

besides these damn air bubbles from my screen protector... seriously thinking of giving up and paying someone to install it (I assume there are people who do that?)

Just booted up Ultimate Marvel for the first time, asides from the slight slowdown during hypers it's really fucking impressive! The screen is fucking gorgeous.
