You will never see BbS for the digital release. Ever.
You missed it. It's all on this page I think.
Crimson Gem Saga= Garnet Chronicle right? I quite liked the demo but hesitated when the reviews looked dire.
So I started TiTS today. It's inoffensive so far. Really slow start though. The battle system seems solid.
Still tempted to pick up an Ys game despite what I posted earlier in this thread. Might go with Oath in Felghana since people are saying it's a shorter game.
For those who have played both, what are Ys Seven's strengths, and conversely what are Oath in Felghana's strengths?
Yeah, TiTs takes a long while to get going, but once it does it really does...for the most part. Also, to offer my experience as an example, I went into Ys Seven right after TiTs, saying myself to be on a Falcom kick, and while I enjoyed the mechanics, a lot, I couldn't get over just how little the world/characters were developed in comparison. If I could do it all over, I'd give them some breathing room. Somebody better acquainted with the series can give you the pros/cons of the individual Ys entries.
At what point would you say Trails picks up?
At what point would you say Trails picks up?
The first Trails game is like a lengthy prologue for an amazing saga that covers many games. Sadly, the first game doesn't REALLY pick up until chapter 3 or so. But even before that, I think it's pretty enjoyable, if you're into globetrotting RPGs like Grandia at least. Just about everyone I know who thought the game started slow ended up falling in love with the game by the end, though.
The slow start in Trails is really getting to me. I'm going to trudge along, but this is why I dislike so many jrpgs. I want it to be fun now, not 4 hours from now.
This better be worth it. -_-

Seven's battle system is more modern, with upgrade-able special moves like in the Tales series.
Felghana is old school Ys. You've got a jump button, platforming elements and special abilities that are actually useful in the field. It's a bit like playing Castlevania, especially in the dungeons.
I prefer Felghana myself.
I'll back that up. While I certainly enjoyed the first half of the game, it really picked up after that and has left me thoroughly hungry for more.Just about everyone I know who thought the game started slow ended up falling in love with the game by the end, though.

Yeah, screen's so much nicer that it's not really desirable to go back, a dramatic reversal of the DS/3DS where playing on a 3DS is a last resort and only done because I wanted my DSiware on the newer system to consolidate the DD stuff. If the 3000 at least didn't look washed out compared to the Vita or if the Vita's scaling were worse then there'd definitely be cause to keep with the PSP.I should've gone digital sooner, lol. I figured I'd still play my PSP once I got my Vita, but that isn't something I look forward to doing.
Dammit...I'm going to buy another PSP game.

I loved Trails in the Sky from its opening all the way to the end. Its pacing may be slow, but that is a strength as it makes the characters and world believable and the climax that much more gripping.
I've only played the demo of the original one, but am I right in thinking the Dissidia games are just arena battles, with some RPG progression? I know 012 added a little world map thing, but there are no towns or anything of that nature, correct?
There's some story progression, and progressing along a grid in the original. The meat is just in arena battles though, yes.I've only played the demo of the original one, but am I right in thinking the Dissidia games are just arena battles, with some RPG progression? Cool thanks, and 012 has the original in it complete right? There's some story progression, and progressing along a grid in the original. The meat is just in arena battles though, yes.

That's what I've been hearing, yes. I have no hands on experience with the prequel except with the prologue demo though.Cool thanks, and 012 has the original in it complete right?

Similar enough, probably. You never know if something can be different just enough to turn hate/apathy into love, but if you didn't care for FFT it's a safe bet Tactics Ogre won't be your thing either.I felt like picking tactics ogre up but is it similar to FFT? Wasn't a big fan of FFT.
R-Type Command $14.99 (Unavailable in EU)

Avoid. It's really terrible compared to WKC on PS3 and it's not developed by Level-5.is WKC:Origins any good? always wanted to play the PS3 versions but for some reason or other skipped it. how does the psp version stack up?
Also If you had to recommend one game on the list of games available, which would you choose.
On the whole list?
Ys: The Oath in Felghana
holy shit, either I suck really bad, or 3rd Birthday is really hard. died a lot in mission 1, got D rating, decided to replay that mission again, 0 death, and still only got C rating.
Legend of Heroes picks up nicely into Ch1 in my opinion. So I started TiTS today. It's inoffensive so far. Really slow start though. The battle system seems solid.

I just hit Ch3 last night. I put the game down for a little and then ended up selling my PSP so I haven't had a chance to get back to it. It's already been interesting but it's definitely ramping up.The first Trails game is like a lengthy prologue for an amazing saga that covers many games. I would definitely recommend that and Oath in Felghana for a good Ys experience. You can tackle the series in the best chronological order as well and get Ys 1&2 and even get hardcore and get the awesome Origins on PC as that's technically the one to start with and plays like Oath. Thanks guys, I bought Ys Seven. Will be my first Ys game, looking forward to it and I hope I made the right choice
