My Vita is on the way from Amazon, should have it tomorrow. I decided to get the Wifi with a 8GB card. Didn't order any games yet though not totally sure what to get hopefully demos will make my mind up :)

My only gripe thus far, let me navigate with the damn buttons, I don't want my fingers all over the screen, otherwise so far it's a hell of a device, can't wait to try more out on it.

And what exactly is that? You know what you want, but how much are you willing to pay for what is currently available? Serious question because I feel more than enough info is available now that the system is out. Not to mention that demo stations are pretty much everywhere games are sold.

Have you played anything yet?

Let's just leave it shall we? I feel it serves no purpose to discuss my buying habits in detail.

I haven't seen a vita in the flesh outside a cursory glance at the eurogamer expo last year. I work long nights shifts and I don't live close enough to any gaming retail outlets to take a look and have a play.

Couple pages back I was convinced enough to buy one, it's just this card issue that gives me pause. Like I said, enjoy your system, hopefully I may buy one soon.

You should also consider hitting up Gamestop, Walmart, or Best Buy as they have demos that aren't on the US store yet.

Alright, thanks. Do you know if I can format my old card and tie it to another psn account?
Yup, you can definitely do that. But just a fair bit if warning, if you try to use that memory card that is tied to another PSN account in your Vita, it will not work. You will need to factory reset your Vita to link it to the memory card with the different PSN account.

There are plenty of demos. I recommend Rayman and Unit 13 (if you're into shooters).

Duude, Rayman. Amazing game regardless of platform, but it just feels sooo damn good on Vita. Then there's Lumines, without a doubt the best one Q has produced yet in my opinion. :)

Nothing wrong with the card. Even if the card was faster, the issue is loading huge amounts of textures into the memory. That's only Wipeout.

Every other game has no issues.

Apologies if this has been answered already, but how does the vita do in an offline situation. Most of my gaming will be done on my subway commute with no connection and I really don't want a million notifications telling me that the vita has failed to connect to PSN. Before Apple fixed it, the popup you got every time Gamecenter failed to connect bugged the crap out of me. Thanks ahead of time for any responses.

There's almost no difference. Every now and then you may need to cancel an attempted sign in that games sometimes automatically do but that is 2 seconds max.

Edit: Has anybody tried switching between memory cards with the same account on both? Do you have to do the reset stuff? I'm thinking about picking up another memory card soon since I think I now want to go mostly digital.

I just played the 'Swimming with Stars' level. Definately the high point of my Vita experience so far.

I want to buy Daxter. Does the game still hold up? I never beat it when I got it with the PSP 2000 bundle years ago. I remember really liking it, though.

I haven't played the game in a few years, but I remember it being a really good platformer, but I think it was a little short. If it's cheap, I say buy it.

I have not tried it, but I do not believe you have to reset anything. You can have multiple cards attached to a single PSN account, so you should be able to just switch out cards and play.

Is there anything that they can do about playback for HD videos downloaded off PSN? Seems really strange that they're not able to be copied over. I've never purchased any digital movies, but right now you're essentially fucked on Vita if you paid for anything but SD content.

Man, online in UMvC3 is some amazing stuff. I rarely have a match that isn't 5 bars, and have only had one or two that haven't been playable. I'm loving chilling in bed before sleep and getting a few rounds in. :)

You can't remove a memory card without the system resetting. It's pretty lame.

Oh, do you mean factory reset?

Is 5 pages of bubbles the max you can have for the Vita? I can't seem to add anymore..

I had six at one point, but the sixth page was created by the system when I download a new demo. Having tried it just now, I don't think you can make more than five pages manually, but you can have more if the system creates them.

Thanks, it was driving me crazy because it would add it, but remove it once I exited out of edit mode.

Just figured out how to make more than 5 pages of bubbles. After adding the page, drag one of the bubble icons onto the page. Once a bubble is on the page, the new page will stay.

Got super stardust and mutant blobs today. I've only played stardust and it's pretty enjoyable. Can't you drop gifts as challenges?

If I was just looking for a reason not to buy, I wouldn't have spent the last hour discussing it here. I actually have better things to do with my time, which is why I find some of the responses here so ridiculous.

Ancedotal recommendations don't come into it. I know what I want and how much I'm willing to pay for it. Whether you or anyone else feels different is meaningless to me. I only ask questions because like all my gadget purchases, I do my research first.

The only people shitting on the Vita in this thread are the usual know it alls that don't actually have one.

If you read posts from people who own them, they are happy, not exactly anecdotal is it? There's no point sitting in the middle of a happy thread of owners crying like a bitch about something you don't have, just make a decision, stick to it and stop fucking banging on about it.

Just wanted to thank GAF for the feedback regarding Rayman. You guys were not BSing about how great it looks This game is very beautiful. Never played a Rayman game before, but I am glad I got it.

I'm not far into it, but do the characters you can play as make a difference?

Not really...some of them have different moves but thats it. You can play every level with any of the characters, its not like you NEED certain characters for certain levels.

What the hell. So after backing up my memory card and restoring the data to the new one it seems that my entire friendlist is gone.

Isnt your friend list tied to your account, not your memory card?

Did you sign into PSN?

Yea, I was signed in, it kept telling me to add friends. So I checked old messages and clicked on my friends profile and it has a big block saying: add friend. The list is fine on my ps3, by the way.

Glad I did some research!
I was just about to buy the 3rd birthday, when I thought to myself, its actually quite expensive for a PSP game, I will just do a bit more research.....
There is NO option to invert aiming controls! They even include an option to invert camera controls, but apprently it has no effect on actual aiming! What sort of backwards dev doesnt bother to include a completely legitimate control scheme?
Lost out on a sale there morons!
I am going to have to be VERY selective of which PSP games I buy if this turns out to be a standard sort of thing.

Let me preface this by saying that I don't know much of anything about data speeds, but why does my Vita load up Flying Hamster ever so slightly faster than the PSP Go does if it's 3-4x slower?
To clarify - I meant PSP Go USB transfers are 3-4x slower then PSP Go Actual flash speed.
Vita USB speed seems to be roughly the same as PSP Go USB (possibly a bit slower), so to me that says nothing about internal memory speed. What people on Gamefaqs are BSing about is using DOWNLOAD speeds to "measure" mem-card performance, which is even less relevant.

As for loading-times on PSP games - yes they load faster on Vita, but most of that benefit comes from more CPU power (emulator runs faster then real PSP did), so it still doesn't really tell us anything about Vita flash speeds.

The best chance of getting some estimation of real Vita Flash-speeds is when/if that PSP Emulation hack is released that should allow running homebrew.

Should be clear that there are no known "issues" with cards (other then price for some people). Everything I've seen so far on speeds has been baseless speculation.

Just tried the Katamari demo and I really enjoyed it. I played katamri on psp once at friend's place, and it feels similar, but fun. I loved the music on the demo.

But the only worry is that I heard it is quite short. Is it worth the price?

Has anyone else played Eye of Judgement Legends on Vita? I think that's an unsung hero of PSP games.

Also, have any Canadian Gaffers seen the PDP Pull and Go Folio anywhere? I can't find it anywhere.

I have not played it but I heard it was light on content.
