Did they get rid of stun threshold? Ayane got a pretty high launcher there without a stun.

Er-looks like typical danger zone off a level gameplay to me. No QTE that people were worried about.

Also do want since it's now multiplatform again. Never put too much time into DOA4 before my X-box died, time to put some work into my Hitomi again.

Wow, that looks fucking amazing.

I saw a lot of stuff there. I'm going to have to rewatch, but I'm pretty sure I saw some punishment off attacks, counters that seemed more like DoA1 or ++ that didn't lead to huge damage, but more setups.

By the end of the video I was just going, "OH MY GOD!"

Holy shit this game looks impressive.

DOA2U is dead. :( No more playing Hitomi in the X-box Japan Boothgirl outfit. :(

Also that Akira video is amazing. But I mean, it's pretty obvious they aren't going to tie into JugglekenTekken since Itagaki pretty much made the series a "rival" so it's cool VirtuaFighter/Sega is being respected and all that.

Just DoA4 or DoAD.

Holy shit that was impressive. It also looked like Akira had different gravity on his moves. His juggles looked like VF, while Kasumi's still looked normal in DoA.

Man. Fuck. Wow.

This game looks amazing.

Agreed. I also like the looks of Kasumi's new model too. She actually looks "cute" now, as opposed to her former porcelain doll look which never did anything for me.

It all looks so very, VERY nice. Can't wait to see more!

And that video just sold me. That Kasumi / Akira fight was sick. Does this mean that DOA is going back to actual parry-repost, instead of parry-throw? If so Dead or Alive is about to become a deep fighter. Like VF deep.

Holy crap you might start seeing DOA tourneys. That's just crazy.

I really wonder who they're trying to appeal to with this cameo. Japanese arcade goers?

The Spartan crossover in DOA4 seemed like a much bigger deal when it came to recognizability.

Possibly. But I also think that part of it is definitely due to what should be no secret at all: DOA owes a lot of its existence to VF.

So, part of me thinks that this maybe more of a "tribute" thing than just blatant fanservice. And if both series mutually benefits from this kind of attention, so much the better. After this game, hopefully a "DOAxVF" wouldn't be something that people would think of as so laughable.

When I was a kid, I remember designing/thinking up a fighting game like this, where you can really use the environment during the fight, and it reacts dynamically to what's going on.

Looks fucking hype, and this will be the first DOA game I ever buy.

The crazy stages exploding and the constant slowdown and camera changing is really distracting. Ayane looks cool, though they still have huge breasts and there is still a faint look of real doll in them.

Really just want to get my hands on it myself to see how the game plays.

Uhh... that looked pretty freaking awesome.

Character models and stages look great, hope the gameplay delivers.

Wasn't planning on picking up any fighter after KOFXIII aside from VF5 but this is definitely on my radar now.

Wonder if there is any chance of getting a DOA character in VF5? Maybe as DLC?

Looks fantastic. I've been waiting for the new entry to the DOA series, and it seems like the wait is definitely worth it. Good thing it's coming out this year. :D

Nice cross-over. I hope there are other characters than Akira though. My mains used to be Lau, Lion and Eileen, and I think they could fit in the DOA universe.
