Next possible news event is the Fiscal Year ending Business meeting at the start of April. I kinda expect Nintendo to tease some more stuff but nothing too substantial then say See Ya at E3!

He did.
He talked about the RAM dedicated to the OS and that the amount seemed rather large and that it was allowing for a lot of things to be done at once within the console.

I brought it up in the last thread but I can't imagine what would take up such a substantial amount of the ram. What OS level functions that are that resource intensive would be required to be running in the background?

Well, cross game voice chat and the ability to stream multiple programs would take up room.
It still shouldn't need more than 100MB though.

What's happened there in the past? Anything exciting?

Well the purpose of the meeting is to address the prior fiscal year and then address the next one on how they will do better. The Wii U is the big gun for the new Fiscal year so they will have to say something. Last business meeting we got the details on NFC and online details

A sentence worth painting on my wall.
Maybe because Reggie really farted in an elevator or something..

Great.. new anti-Nintendo memes, born right here in the Nintendo thread:
"because.. it's Nintendo"
"because Reggie farted that one time"

I wonder what'll come next..

The browser perhaps?

I would like to be able to browse for tips and walkthroughs on the fly while playing if needs be, speaking of which my Firefox sessions take me quite a bunch of RAM actually, especially while running videos.

Oooh, yeah! Plus porn.

I think they also dropped Last Story and Pandoras Tower at certain investor meetings. But most of them also didn't bring anything special.

The card battle idea is prettty cool. It would be neat if Nintendo included different collectible cards with each game it publishes cause I'm not buying card packs seperately. Did that years ago with Pokemon and only did it to sell them to other kids back in middle school. Never again.

I wonder if this thread will go crazy with the investor's meeting like we did with Reggie Gras in February..

Of course. We're all running on that new thread high right now, but we're pretty starved for info for the most part. We smell blood in the water, we'll go into a fenzy even it's just reggie trolling us with the chum bucket.

Holy hell. Idea of the forever. It could be like one giant hero clix meta game. Beating games could even let you level up your cards. It would be the best achievement system ever. AAAAAAAAAAAAEIUHOIENF:AIENGA

I'd love for there to be a Nintendo Festival once a year. Kinda like PAX, but with a Nintendo focus. I'd travel every year for this kind of thing.

Who here actual used the Wiimote's ability to store and transfer Miis to other peoples systems?

Who here will use the Wii U controller ability to store, display, and transfer Miis, game stats, Pokemon cards, hats, Street/Spot Pass, etc?

VMU anyone?

There was one last year in Japan, actually.

But here in North America.. I definitely think there's a market for such a yearly event. Nintendo could give presentations, reveal games, drop a few bombs along the way to attract media attention. Frankly, I'm a bit shocked that they haven't gone this way yet.

Well, they use to do Spaceworld.
And they do do events for game releases and stuff at the Nintendo World Store in New York.
Plus, they have their fall conference where they reveal new games, but that's for Media only to attend. Though they stream it online.

On. Board.

For all those pessimistic nonsense people still doubting the Wii U's power, its clear, Nintendo is going after 3rd parties and more "hardcore" titles, in order to do that, they need to convince 3rd party devs to jump on board right? Well to do that, they need to prove the power of the Wii U and its ability to hold up. NO 3rd party dev wants to make a completely different version of a game for the Wii U system vs. whats on the PS4/720....and Nintendo knows this. It WILL compete in terms of power with the other next gen consoles, the Wii U is a next gen console, everything recently has been pointing towards this. Get the pessimistic tendencies OUT of this thread! THIS IS THE HYPE TRAIN.

Honestly, I think every game series needs something like SF command. A bastard child that's kind of under the radar where the craziest shit happens. It wasn't a big game in the franchise so no one really cares, but it's fun to point back at it and say "what the hell were they thinking??"

Unfortunately... Star Fox has too many of those already :(

There's rumors of some sort of Nintendo show in March but

1) Don't know if it's Japan, Europe, or U.S.
2) It's just chatter, nothing particularly substantial yet.
