I'm not sure if I'm looking at the same thing you're talking about, but this isn't as bad as people are making it out to be.

Seeing this, I don't think the ESRB would be AO-ing it as suggested by another poster earlier. It's not too far from some of the things in Neptunia, and that's M.

I don't know. I'll never understand the mindset of people who cry "pedophilia" on this stuff I guess.

It really comes down to the law, and as far as I'm aware any sexualized depiction of minors (and this is pretty blatant), is considered child porn. Of course there's a certain degree of wiggle room when concerning drawings, because, you know, they aren't real people so the ages are arbitrary.

But I reckon as far as the ESRB is concerned, this won't be tolerable to any extent.

At the same time, I think NISA could get away with relatively subtle censorship and turn it into a completely releasable product.

Even if the ESRB only slaps it with an M that'd be pointless to accept if the rest of the game is a T and stuff serves no serious purpose like, say, the blood in Xenosaga 3 did. Plus it's an issue a lot of people here aren't really comfortable with, so even in some insane situation where it flies with a T it'd risk alienating the people who'd actually care to play otherwise.

I thought it was just looking at the one with the steam...but well...this is probably a bit much:

http://andriasang.com/con02z/mugen_souls_bath/ NFSW and all that. Not really the usual "Thats it?" stuff you'd see in Yggdra or Rivera/TV shows where someone is running out of the shower.

Okay. I was looking at something different. What I saw had black all over to cover stuff.

My own opinions on censorship aside - I can definitely understand why people are uncomfortable with that.

I'm pretty sure SCOTUS ruled that loli stuff isn't child porn. I read that in that GAF thread about that pedo on Facebook so they could have been wrong. Don't remember if they linked to anything or not.

Hmm, well I guess that would be different. I was really only referring to my understanding of Canadian law, and just assuming it would be the same in the US.

Local levels can still bully people on it, as the one case of the manga collector shows. Of course, given this is domestically released rather than imported someone like that would probably be able to defend themselves easier, but it's not worth "artistic integrity" over something many potential consumers don't want. Especially if a few black bars is enough (despite in a way being MORE suggestive).

bad gameplay lol
Man, I am ALL OVER Legasista. Anything with random dungeons and loot is day one for me.

And what the fuck @ Mugen Souls. No surprise that it's by Idea Factory. Definitely know to stay the hell away from that one.

Legasista is DAY ONE though, for sure.

Exists in a perpetual state of Quantum Crotch Uncertainty.
I greatly enjoy knowing that the world's largest ocean separates me from most Idea Factory games, and I do not much appreciate NISA's continued efforts to erode the feeling of security that that knowledge imparts.

I'll probably buy all of these except for Legslatia .. maybe.

I'm not sure about that one... it looked like it was like a rogue-like, but it didn't look turn-based.

Hail, peons, for I have come as ambassador from the great and bountiful Blueberry Butt Explosion
Legasista definitely looks interesting, but I'm mostly interested in seeing how Witch is.

Great moves by NISA, Legacista will do much better as a PSN release and I really liked the look of Mugen Souls until I saw the loli washing bits, was definitely too far, looked pretty fun and disgaea-y otherwise. Will buy all 3 now

Having never heard of or played any games in this or other similar franchises, can someone explain in a few word what genre these fall most closely under, or another similar game / franchise that is more well known?

It looks kinda like...well whatever style of RPG Diablo/Titan Quest count as, except NIS style and focused on one dungeon. The design your own party members from importing images sounds nice. but i'm not sure how that will work.

The character you play have floating limbs like rayman, sobasically you import image to be used as head and body in muktiple view(front, side and back) this is just my guess

I don't understand why NISA is even bringing a game like this over. If a supporting mechanic in the game involves something which can be viewed as interactive child porn, just leave the game in Japan. Releasing it edited seems to say "We really want to bring this game which probably appeals to pedophiles and strategy RPG fans who have terrible taste, but we don't want to go to jail so we're cutting some of the more offensive stuff out". Not a very good message. :p

I'm pretty excited for Legasista and The Witch and the Hundred Knights... I hope the release between the US and EU Playstation store for Legasista isn't going to be too far apart.
It will be

It would be cool if Legasista had cross play with the Vita but sadly there's no sign of that happening any time soon.

I wouldn't of cared if they didn't cut it out of the game since I'm quite immune to underaged moe anime girls taking baths (and I kind of wanted to play those parts too) but I don't mind if they did either. I can see a lot of people understandably being turned off by it and I do want to play Mugen Souls in English so its a necessary evil imo. But since the bath scenes were actually a mechanic I wonder if they cut it out completely or just censored the images.

Mugen Souls and Witch and the Hundred Knights will be bought no doubt. Don't care about Legasista at all though.

I was sure The Witch would come but I was not 100% sure about Legasista, really glad to hear it´s coming (god bless digital, if that's the way to get Japanese games that wouldn't come otherwise, I'm all for it).

Not reaaaaally sure about Mugen Souls... (lol at that video).

well, lets just say ESRB is way smarter than lifetime (the TV network) was. the shit they pulled. the motherfucking shit they pulled.

Witch and the Hundred Knights is easily my most wanted on that list, the other two are less certain purchases.

I think NISA could get away without completely eliminate that bathing part, just make them wear something (eg: school swimsuit), neptunia mk2 could be released so i think swimsuit will probably enough to pass censorship.

oh and people who like 2d fictional loli ain't going to be a pedo, because they ain't interested in 3DPD ,they just a mere 2D lolicon :p

Legasista looks great. Mugen Souls looked interesting in NISA's trailer, that bath scene trailer on Andriasang is.....a bit much. Let's see how they handle it, it's probably something you can ignore ingame anyway. That witch game on the other hand looks pretty boring, will have to read some more about it.

Let me be the first to say that I don't have a problem with the bath scenes. I guess I'm just so used to moe that I've seen much worse and somehow found a way to forgive Japan that this stuff only seems mildly offensive to me. It's not my cup of tea, but neither is thick necked space marines stroking their phallus guns shouting about "Cole trains" and I still play that shit. What I'm saying is that somehow, I've developed the ability to look past moe bathing scenes - this isn't the first game that has had it (by a long, long shot)

And the IF auto-hate has to stop. It makes you all look like a bunch of children. IF is a publisher with a lot of different games that it makes - most of which are not fan service filled grind fests. Compile Heart is but one part of IF (though the most prominent in the US), but there are other really good games that IF makes. I would hate if we stopped getting the good IF games because you people were too shallow to actually play games before you hated them unconditionally.

I mean, there's a reason why we get stuff like Mugen Souls and not Spectral Force Legacy, and it's because, despite all the complaining to the contrary, you guys are buying the fan service grindy stuff over the decent-to-excellent grand strategy and adventure titles.
