Mood-killer in atmospheric games. I wish the PS3 had the same option for the Team ICO collection. Heavy Rain moved the trophy notifications to the load screens.
I don't mind on the consoles since the notification takes up so little of the screen. On Vita though, because of the constant signing in and out, I get notifications from the same people over and over again and trophy notifications can sometimes take up like what seems to be 20% of the screen.

Plenty of reasons:
1. You don't like the concept of them at all and just want to wash your hands of them.
2. A game is really annoying about them for one reason or another, whether it's handing them out like candy for stupid shit that ends up feeling condescending (Mass Effect 3, Prince of Persia '08 and possibly other EA/Ubisoft games), or because they actively get in the way at key times.
3. The game is about the EXPERIENCE, the last thing you want is one of those stupid things dinging up. It's just WRONG to see them in a game like Flower or Heavy Rain, and I suspect I'd feel similarly about Virtue's Last Reward, essentially a Visual Novel with some puzzles (assuming it's similar enough to 999).
Plus why not have the option? Everyone's got different preferences or capabilities, and it's one of the least important parts of actually playing a game versus controls and whatnot.

Yeah I was also getting the "An error occurred" for about a week, but straight after the update Near is working perfectly again!

Well I picked up Ys Chronicles I&II but it is not compatible right now though it was for a while.

Are you asking how much is Resistance Retribution is? I don't think it's even available in digital form. At least it's not in the PS3 store (which I thought had every PSP game).

Turning off system sound turns off Near and Store music as well. Just tried it.
yeah that also, after doing some searching i found out its not on the store anymore... weird... i was hoping it would be 15
