Yes, because rather than creating a thread about it, people decided to discuss it in the Indie Bundle megathread. Which is exactly why we were skeptical of the idea of an indie bundle megathread to begin with. :/

And I've gotten so use to seeing the dedicated threads that I've missed out on all of the recent bundles, haha.

It was supposed to be more of an index to new prospective threads that would still be created? I haven't been paying to attention to the whole thing.

Indie multiplayer games tend to struggle with community size, even if they're good and find a niche. I've purchased five or six indie multiplayer games and most are simply ghost towns or only have a few active servers with decent pings.

In this case, there literally is just a problem with the matchmaking, the game's still in beta.

Found some people a while ago, but the game couldn't make up its mind on whether to start the match or not and would restart the timer whenever someone left or joined.

This kid just added me on Steam, and he pretended he was a Steam Admin. He was trying to Remote Desktop into my computer so I messed with him for a bit. Eventually I let him remote desktop into a Ubuntu box I had lying around. I put up a very nasty wallpaper, which freaked him out, so he decided to "ban" me.

Reported him moments later.

The first time he used the word "dude" I lost it. No way an admin would be that casual, why would he think he would say that?

DUDE I KNOW WHAT YOU ARE AFRAID OF.

Sounds like a terrible tagline to an equally terrible slasher flick.

When he first added me, I knew I needed to act fast to get some help trolling him. Was going to post it to reddit, but I needed to post a URL. Ended up putting it on 4chan which was probably a terrible idea. Eventually everyone started adding him, and messing with him on steam. I feel kinda bad now.

I accidentally accepted a friend request from a TF2 trader yesterday, but thankfully he just wished me a good day and deleted me when I declined his trade request. The last time I had a trader add me, I couldn't get rid of him:

Him: "Why don't you want to trade your items?"
Me: "Because I earned them! They're like trophies. Trophies I'll never look at."
Him: "But why?"
Me: "I just told you why."
Him: "Okay, how about you just give me <something>?"
Me: "I don't want to."
Him: "Why not?"

This circular back-and-forth went on for a good half an hour or so. Needless to say, these days I only add people with which I have at least one friend or non-random group in common.

I get a lot of TF2-related friend requests. I think they want my severed Max head hat. What's funny is most of them use photos of girls as their avatars. I assume to try and get a better deal out of random internet dudes.

Playing Witcher 1 at the moment, bought it after the Mac release announcement. It's pretty hard on normal. I like the combat but my alchemy comprehension is not what it needs to be and I guess that is why I get my ass handed to me several times during "easy" quests like for instance the ghoul contract. Also the Blizzard potion is annoying as hell, the slowdown makes fighting impossible. Anyone have a good page with tips for the best potions and oils.

It's like he didn't give a fuck anymore and stopped using /me after 3 times.

That actually describes a lot of threads. And pretty much all the mega sale threads. The unfortunate fact is, unless an OP has the ability to constantly mod the title to reflect the current promotions, those threads are pretty much worthless. And because of the way posting privileges work, it basically means that unless a mod is running the thread, it's not going to be effective.

Those threads aren't worthless to people who check their subscriptions more often than they can check the front page, which I imagine is a lot of people. Personally I'm far more likely to miss a new thread about a bundle than I am if it's in a central thread I'm subscribed too. Both types of threads work and serve purpose.

The internet equivalent of deploying nuclear weapons.

I was more specifically talking about the sale threads. And lots of posts are the same thought I had "Oh, I didn't know that was on sale. I would have bit had I known. Too late."

Maybe the issue is a lot better with subscriptions, but it doesn't change the fact they'd be a 100 times more effective if the titles could be edited to reflect what was currently happening.

Finally got out of my Blackberry contract after two years. One of the first thing I do with my S2?

Download the Steam app. Damn you, Gabe.

It's really cool though. I like it a lot.
