This Saturday, 2012 NAB Show starts and Nintendo of America is attending. NAB Show is a premiere event for next generation technologies regarding content creation (imaging, software management etc.). Next generation technologies are shown and many deals are made. 90000+ media and entertainment professionals from over 150 countries attend the event which features 1500+ (exhibiting) companies spread over 745,000 net square feet.
I'm not expecting any major news from this, but I doubt Nintendo of America goes there to just stroll around. They are there to probably find a business partner regarding either Wii U or Nintendo 3DS, and it's a bountiful smörgåsbord they have to choose from. Already existing partner IBM will be exhibiting, and other notable exhibitors Nintendo could have interest in include DTS (audio technologies), Dolby Laboratories (audio technologies) Fujitsu Frontech North America (RFID solutions), THX Ltd. (audio technologies) and Western Digital (perhaps to make a deal to create Wii U branded hard drives), to name a few. As I said, I'm not expecting any major news from this, but perhaps Nintendo will announce a partnership with some company, similar to that of Autodesk and Havok.
Next week brings IBM's and AMD's earnings releases on the 17th (Tuesday) respectively 19th (Thursday) of April. I'm gonna listen to it, but I'm not expecting much. But it's a nice build up to the IR event on the 26th of April.
