Played Titan Attacks for a little bit, lots of fun! Maybe I'll play Revenge of the Titans soon as well finally since I've had that for a while now.\

edit: slight annoyance is that the mouse isn't locked to the window, so I kept clicking outside the game window.

So I got a 50 dollar gift card to newegg from my mother. Issue is she doesn't realize that since moving to Taiwan, I can't use newegg anymore. I don't blame her for using newegg, I built her a comp from there once.

So I figured I could buy a game that can be redeemed at steam. Now I am waiting for a GOTY Skyrim - there will be one BELIEVE!

I though Saints row third required steam but at the product page at newegg it doesn't mention it like it does for Skyrim.

Saints Row Third

Skyrim

So I don't know.....if not what other steam redeemable game is available @ newegg?

Correct, Saints Row: The Third is a Steamworks title, it even requires you to run Steam when bought on Origin. There are no exceptions on PC because the co-op uses Steam services, releasing a non Steam version would mean people can't play together if on different editions.

You can safely buy it retail and activate the key.

re: puppygames promo

It looks like they ran out of Revenge of the Titans steam keys, so they're contacting Valve to get some more. And the Steam key for Titan Attacks they sent me was already taken. >_>

Looks like they bit off more than they could chew with that promo.

Same thing happened to me a few minutes ago, says it's a duplicate.

So, where's CS:GO at at this point? Is it more of a full game or are the weapon/map choices still pretty limited? Is it fun if you don't care about high level play?
I started playing CS in December, I'm finding it fun to play overall. Dota 2 still kind of sucks up all my attention, the last few weeks. I poop socked it a bit too much the first few weeks.

It's a better game than Source, never played 1.6. Better to just read the OT though.

That may explain why I got one of those Steam emails sending me my account username. Glad I got my key when I did :D

Interesting, the only email I got from puppygames that got sent to my junk mail was the one with the actual steam key. Nice promo from them regardless, can't complain about free.

How do I retrieve steam codes? I've gotten mail confirmation, but when I tried inputting my email in the steam retrieval, I got an error.

Sure, but I'd rather not run the risk of getting charged since I still have to put credit card info in. Plus maybe other aspects of checkout are disabled as well.

I tried it out a minute ago, after you entered the promo code the page changes (I had to go back, forward and reload to avoid getting the error page again) and removes the credit card fields.

Ah, you're right. Thanks trinest and Iron Badger! I tried earlier with Chrome but got frustrated when the page refreshed after I put in the code and gave up. Then after trinest's post I tried it on FireFox, where the credit card fields stayed after entering the promo code (maybe due to something with noscript). Just now I tried again with Chrome and it worked. :p

edit: oh, but Steam codes are gone now.

You are a wizard! It worked!

I had to remove the brower cache several times to be able to stop the redirection. First, input the discount code, then redo the trick to remove the second game which was added, then redo the trick to input your details, and submit!

Either way, their DRM is busted in some way. I guess I didn't read the email carefully enough, so I registered via their java app thing instead of by typing my email in when the demo launches. This SHOULD mean that any post-registration installs of the demo should detect that my machine has a registration and unlock the full version. It did not. So then when the game asks and I put my email in, it says it is already registered on my computer, so it can't, and yet it doesn't unlock the full game.

This busted shit is precisely why I try to only get Steam or completely DRM-free games anymore. Revenge of the Titans was alright for a tower defense (not into the genre) and I guess since Titan Attacks is Steam I'll try it out, but really I've been wanting to play Ultratron. Instead, their shitty DRM (which they seen quite proud of on their website) is preventing that. I'm glad I found out this way rather than after dropping $10. Kind of funny since this is exactly why I didn't despite being interested for months.

My mini review of Trine 2.

Excellent game. Longer (3 hours longer!), better paced, and even more stunning than it's predecessor. In the running for the most beautiful game of all time.

Great puzzles and banter too.

Revenge of the Titans code up this bitch.

I'll also post an Titan Attacks code in 5 minutes. EDIT: In the free stuff thread, as no one claimed the earlier one here.

Never played a Gothic in my life, but I don't feel like spending 12€ since I have the hugest backlog and I'm not so into games right now. I just want to take a few chapters, which should I pick? Nothing too obsolete or clunky, please.

There's also the option of the Gothic Universe Edition. It's Gothic 1, II: Gold Edition, and 3 for $4.99.

I haven't played them so I can't recommend any of them.

Gothic 4 gets a lot of hate but if you treat it like a disposable, linear ARPG it isn't bad at all. It's just not a Gothic game, really. I certainly enjoyed it more than Divinity 2.

Iron Brigade (formerly known as Trenched) just got updated in the steam registry, so I'm guessing it'll be out very soon.
Just had its registry entry updated in prep for release or just got added to the registry? I might pick it up unless they cap the framerate at 30fps or something horrible like that.
