Ah, these are the episodes I want to see. Less focus on Keiichi and Belldandy and more on the goddesses. So, we talk about their angels with Skuld trying to cheat to get her own and Urd coming to terms with hers. A really nice shift of focus that I hope keeps going.

Unfortunately, Belldandy and Keiichi are the protagonists. I suppose they deserve each other, but the audience doesn't.

Man, this show is so good. SOOOOOOOOOOOO good. They're using heavy elements of audio theming, like the violins when Tsubaki tries to do more "couple things" with Urabe, or the drum solo stuff when the scissors come out. The framing and imagery is offsetting and sometimes uncomfortable, but it's so very intentional and clear in its intended affect. Beautiful in communication, the show's also beautiful visually. Their vistas and simple, but effective animation techniques really fill in and allow for that uncomfortable framing by letting it ring dissonant next to it. The way they get the chaos of adolescence in there is also subtle and equally compelling, which is why I enjoyed the Manga so much for a time. On one surface it seems like your standard innocent and pure romance anime, but below that surface is a confluence of emotion, uncertainty, and hormones. This is shown in some very almost disturbing imagery, particularly the one with
the beetle being broken down and carried off by the ants while Urabe has stripped for Tsubaki's drool in a broken down and dirty abandoned building.
It's that kind of combination that creates discomfort and yet a certain amount of excitement. It's "unallowed", but they're doing it anyway. It makes for a really great balance.

I blame outdated school policy that continually refuses to teach safe drool exchange in favor of drool abstinence.

The problem is that schools refuse to acknowledge the existence of alternate beliefs regarding drool, nor do they point out all the flaws in currently taught drool theory.

The Light of El Cantare
Well, thankfully, the second episode shot down the notion that droll swapping is a gateway to hand holding, so I think we might start to see some progress in this field in the near future. It's a brave new world we live in.

As if anime didn't make me depressed enough that my high school days are just getting farther behind me.

Give the people what they want. :p

bububu Hayate only got a second series based on the success of the first to begin with! If it ain't broke...

I'm really sad at the lack of SynergySP series in the past few years. Am I the only one here who's watched all of Zettai Karen Children? I might start pimping it out more here.

The end of S1 is pretty strong and
with a more "real" end
.

This show should clearly be about the big sisters
and Sig
.

But the episode was actually fun, haha. Stepping away from the middle schoolers are sexy thing is always a good move in my book.

On reflection, the fact that I am arguing against this position makes me sound like some kind of monster.

Upotte is like the Bad News Bears, or Police Academy. The main characters are supposed to be terrible and incompetent.

Lovely Complex 24 [FINAL]

I was planning on completing this show yesterday but some things came up that prevented me from doing so. The concept behind the story is solid. I never thought there would be a romance anime dealing with a height complex, especially one where the female lead is taller than the male lead. It's something I can appreciate though, as I always wanted a pairing where a girl was obviously bigger than her boyfriend. And major props for giving the cast different outfits for every episode, it made them look like real people.

Koizumi was great. I love her energy and the ridiculous faces she'd make when dealing with Otani's blow ups, not to mention she could give reality checks when people needed them.

The supporting cast was kind of weak. Nobu for the most part stole the spotlight from everyone else besides the leads (considering she was the mastermind for most of the love schemes in the series). Beyond that, we don't even get a real good look at Koizumi and Otani's friends until the last few episodes of the series.

Near the end though things felt a bit rushed and forced, like
resolving the issues revolving around Chiharu and Suzuki that only took 10 mins before everything was fine again. It's like they wanted to show that even the supporting characters had their share of problems, yet imo only managed to do that with Nobu and Nakao. Chiharu and Suzuki's "arc" if you even want to call it that just felt weird.

That aside it truly was a fun show and would recommend it for those who haven't seen it yet.

Boys over Flowers is the only right answer!

Not much to say other than the band has gotten together. I was surprised and happy when they started
playing the old "let's play!" theme song from the original Saki though
. It was a nice touch to connect the two shows together (well, beyond having Nodoka take on the role of Arata of course).

Good question. I already have Maria sama ga Miteru ready to go but I know that's going to be some serious time investment since its 3 seasons +1 OVA.

The other suggestions I got from everyone earlier were:

Kemonozume
Kaiba
Kare Kano
Nodame Cantabile
ef - a tale of memories and tale of melodies

Already have Nodame Cantabile ready to go as well.

I know you've watched Toradora, but what about Maid-Sama?

Nodame live action is better than anime.

Watch it!

You know, I watched that one awhile back and I only had 6 episodes left...I have no clue what prevented me from finishing it. Exams? Maybe?

Now that you brought it up, if I do go back I may just start where I left off.

Kemonozume, Kaiba and ef are not romantic comedies, in case you're wondering.

KareKano and Nodame are very much in the vein of what you've already been watching.

Sorry I was just listing all the romance titles that were suggested, should have clarified that earlier.

MariMite is great, but I'm not sure I would classify it as a RomCom. lol

Also, Boys Over Flowers is good!
Same with Cheeky Angel!
