I don't think Jubeat/Jukebeat stuff has ever gone on sale. :( Which means I've spent a LOT of money on Jubeat packs, ha.

Actually, music packs 1-25 in jubeat plus were 85 yen each for 1-2 days in November or so last year to celebrate being the #1 game in Japan or something.

Those 25 packs were seriously a gateway drug.

Can't recall jukebeat packs ever being on sale though, and it's not something I count on happening anytime soon.

Whaaaaa?! D: I spent ¥450 on all 30 packs I've purchased, haha.

Wow, Crow price dropped already. That must be a record :-\

This type of price drop on a higher priced game so quickly does not foster good will to the developer by the people that supported them buying their game. Now I know it's only a couple of $'s drop and it's not a great amount of money but it will make some people wait for the inevitable price drops rather than supporting day one.

I noticed the same thing with kariosoft, all of their games would be discounted within 2 weeks (although they don't seem to be doing that as much now) So I'd just wait.

I want to support my favorite developers but at least have confidence in the product and respect for the people that paid full price.

I'm so spoiled by .99 and free games that I'm considering not getting Total War Battles because it's $6.99. Dangit.

Played Crow for 15 minutes. Recommend it wholeheartedly. Absolutely beautiful and gameplay/art/design-wise the most polished and intuitive 3D game on the platform I've come across thus far. Impressed with the great framerate on iPhone 4, from the videos I assumed it was going to be more solely optimized for the A5.

I'd tread carefully with that one.
Make sure you know what you're getting into....

Lane defense, campaign or 1vs1 local on same iPad only, no other mp currently, and going by posts on TA, IAP is required if you want access to all unit upgrades.

Would suggest all at least try the FREE lite version of MacGuffins Curse to see if it's your cup o tea:

Played just over an hour of Illusia 2 just now and got my Rogue to level 17. It's very Maplestory feeling (sort of like the first was). My big complaint is that like a lot of these KRPG's on the app store, it feels like it's going in fast-forward. I'll play it for a while simply because I don't mind the game, but I don't know what it will be like later.

Wario64

works for Gamestop (lol)
Bejeweled got Game Center support (it didnt have GC, right? If it did, it now has added achievements)

Should have been Blitz imo

Ugh I hate how those games run in fast-forward. (with, if it even provides the option, giving you as only alternative to lower the framerate)

I was looking for games that may have added iCade support and discovered a platformer that was recently updated with it called Super Lemonade Party. I don't recall ever seeing it discussed on here. It's got nice pixel art.

Well, the appstore only has one IAP and it's for 5000 EXP? not sure if that's really "necessary" or just a speed-up?

Ah right fair enough. Still sounds like crap with very few options and no online mp.

I wish there weren't so many apps based on IAPs. I make an effort to steer clear from them.

Yeah I definitely won't be buying it for full price until there's online multiplayer, without it it's just not worth it.

I approve of this PvZ HD update. I do not, however, appreciate the "BUY MORE COINS" buttons that appear everywhere now. Make the game look so cheap. :(

I asked about this too, also in the boardgame thread, with no success :( Toucharcade said it's pretty good though, from some users on their board... but not much feedback.

It's alright. Needs a few passes with translation, but it's a good Risk-like boardgame.

Desperately needs asynchronous multiplayer, though. It'd be godlike if that was the case.

As it stands, it's got a great UI, looks terrific and outside of being a little on the easy side, does the job.

Hmph, just wait until you get stuck on hard mode by accident and then have to fight the fucking boss a dozen times. Absolutely shite game design right there, not fun in the slightest. The rest of the game was ok, but I'd barely rate it as good let alone great.

I haven't played Crow, but... it's terrible because it's hard? What the hell? Shit, if we go by this logic, then the NES must have had the worst games EVER

Metroid 1? Fuck that shit

Zelda? I can't find a dungeon

Absolutely loving Tilt to Live right now - tried it when it first came out and didn't really enjoy it much, but the new game modes are a lot of fun and add an insane amount of variety for a game with no buttons...

I would like to share some love for Hero Mages, an incredibly polished and deep one man effort.

WEEoLKmzwcORo5z8ESVjOw-temp-upload.kdkrfxoz.640x960-75.jpg

http://appshopper.com/games/hero-mages

Bought it yesterday after trying it for free on the official website and loving it.

You can try it here for free:

http://www.heromages.com/

Async is coming next month, both versus and CO OP it seems (according to dev response in the TA thread)...can't wait.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=aHgzajQcTnU#!

Personally I think that with Async and story bits ad hoc scenarios this game could be huge.

You know I love games like this and this looks like a brilliant effort BUT gee I wonder how long he spent on it if its just the one guy? I was reading about a two man effort for Catch the Monkey and it took them two years. I don't think its worth the risk to build a niche product if you're a one man team because its just not possible to get the sales. Unfortunately you're way better off building an endless runner or angry birds clone with a twist.

But seriously good luck to the guy, I hope he does well enough out of it.

From what I can tell the game was originally concepted as a board game ~6 years ago, has been available as a free online game since March 2009, available on Android since November 2011, and just released on iOS last week .

So it seems he's been at this fairly singularly for a while, and listening to him converse he seems beyond committed to the product and is very interested in the player experience and input.

This is from the app description.

I am serious about my commitment to evolving this game and I take all player feedback to heart. If you have any issues with the game, please contact me using the support website before writing a negative review (I typically respond within the hour- seriously). Your positive reviews and encouragement are what keeps me motivated to continue producing quality content. Let me hear what you have to say!

D20Studios is a one-man team: it's just me, Ross! I am a passionate indie developer seeking to bring together the best elements of collectible card games (CCGs) like Magic the Gathering, tabletop war games like Warhammer and Warhammer 40k, and role playing games (RPGs) like Hero Quest, Dungeons and Dragons, and Final Fantasy Tactics.

Hero Mages is the culmination of a vision I began nearly six years ago as a physical board game incarnation with hand-painted miniatures, custom-made cards, and a bag full of D20's. With the support and encouragement of my friends and family, I took my passion to the digital realm to bring the characters of Papillion to life and deliver a unique game that can be instantly enjoyed on your favorite mobile device.

Thanks for checking out my game! See you on the battlefield!

But where's the fun in that? Personally I'm leaning towards my next game being a 3D action adventure/zelda clone

No, it's bad because it drops Hard Mode on you without warning and has a boss with at least three forms that can kill you in a single hit. So I play for ten minutes, die, repeat the same ten minutes, die, rinse, repeat, get sick of this shit and never go back to it.

I am far from a pussy, my favourite games are masocore platformers, but they are designed with generous checkpoints that don't make you sit through cinematics and early stages time and time again. Hard games are fun, punishing games are not so fun.
