They are developing games for iOS, though.
However, it's not their giant budget games, because the return on investment simply isn't there.
How do idevices do in Japan?
For a launch to be "pretty damn good," I expect quality games hitting up numerous major genres with at least 2 or 3 must have killer-apps. If he just means that we'll get yet another CoD (yawn) then his sensebilities are way off.
The thing I think a lot of folks are overlooking about Wii U this fall is that games that would have been ignored on Wii in the past due to them being on weaker hardware now won't be.

So the Wii versions of things like Madden, Call of Duty, WWE games etc. will now actually be in the running with their HD twins counterparts for a purchase. I think it's probably a pretty safe bet that a majority of these annual release big titles will make day and date or close to it this fall. I wouldn't count on it for the non-annualized stuff like Bioshock, Tomb Raider, RE6 and whatever else but you get the picture.
So yeah, the Wii U could theoretically have a lineup this fall that comes within striking distance of the competition depending on what exclusives it launches with and how much effort third parties put behind their ports.
I think it was confirmed for both Bioshock and Tomb Raider that they will not come to Wii U.
Same shit was said for Bioshock 1 and the ps3. Nintendo needs to be a go-getter like Sony was with the ps2. I'd love for my WiiU to be a one stop shop.
This is what I'm hoping. They need to go up to third parties and convince them to bring their titles to the Wii U. I think they've probably done that so E3 will be interesting. I would love to just own one console this generation if possible.Fallout 4 for Wii U please
Exactly. It's so crazy how some ninty fans can say things along the lines of "we don't need those titles". So we've come from no third party support to being able to pick which ones we need and don't need? In my eyes everything should be on this thing for it to be the most competitive. Tell you what though: if bioshock was available on WiiU i'd wait and get it for the WiiU launch.
Same here. The screen tearing issue would be resolved if it was on WiiU.

"Just to be clear, there are no plans. I'm not saying it can't happen, but we have no plans to do any games for that platform," he told IGN.
Even if he appeared on the devs reel saying how awesome the Wii U was going to be, here's what Ken Levine (Irrational devs) said:
He doesn't just say Bioshock won't be on Wii U, they don't plan to make any games for it at all.

It should at the very least be a competent launch:
Assassins Creed III
Batman Arkham City
Call of Duty : Black Ops 2
Darksiders 2
Madden 2013
Ninja Gaiden III : Razor's Edge
Pikmin
Super Mario Bros.
Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Online
Those are all very possible IMO and that's just of the top of my head. There will be announced title that miss launch, and new stuff shown that will make launch.

Even if it's just these, there's several I want. My PS3 died so i haven't played ANY of those (The ones in existence of course).

Don't forget Killer Freaks, a third party exclusive.
I can't see how people would say something like that. It's always good to have these titles because they're different from what they would normally play. I bought a 360 due to lack of third party titles on the Wii, so I'm hoping I don't have to do the same again this generation.
Here's hoping for a Bioshock Wii U announcement at E3.

Sure, it'll get the best versions (probably) of PS3 and 360 games, and of course wonderful Nintendo exclusives in HD -- But even if it gets an aggressive head start, what happens in 2014? Will third parties pass the U up because it can't run the engines made for the other two platforms?
I think that's going to miss launch.
Rumors point to it being capable of running them. We'll see if that's true or not.
Really? Any particular reason why or just speculating?
It was pretty rough at E3 last year.
Nothing I want from that list to be honest. Not even Pikmin.
Hope they have something from Retro.
Hopefully nintendo does not share this mentality. WiiU needs these games and gamers like myself are very much prepared to buy them.

Also, I have no idea what the hell Black Ops 2 will do with that controller.
Hey quick question about controls. Are we to assume that we're to play these games with Classic Controllers? I love all four of my CCs, but it certainly isn't my first choice when playing AAA titles like Assassin's Creed III or Darksiders 2. No rumble and no L3/R3 buttons are a bit of a deal-breaker to me.
Because fuck if I'm playing on the tablet unless I absolutely have to.
For the campaign, I wouldn't expect anymore than moving the HUD to it (which, given how ridiculous the HUD has gotten, may end up being a blessing in disguise). I imagine they could do more with it in multiplayer, where you can just drag and drop your loadout, edit your custom emblems, and have a couple of the killstreak rewards work with it (like how the UAV operates in Ghost Recon Online).
Simple stuff, but in theory a bit more user-friendly than the normal setup.
How about trying the tablet first before making a decision? You can't take CC support for granted, most games will be customized to make use of the tablet and if the Wii is any indication not too many developers will bother to add a classic mode.
Jason Schreier said:Though it isnt too heavy, theres something a little uncomfortable about its width. The Wiimote and Nunchuck feel like natural extensions of your hand; in contrast, the Wii Us tablet is more like an especially wide version of the Wiis Classic Controller.
In 25 years of gaming, I don't think I have ever heard anyone say a console's launch wasn't "looking pretty damn good." Things are only ever considered bad in hindsight.
I'm hoping there's a better mold of the tablet to be debuted at E3. John Davison calling it "cheap", "a piece of shit" and a "giant DS screen" does little to encourage me.
It's also worth nothing that my purchase of the Wii U is solely contingent upon Nintendo letting me transfer ALL of my Virtual Console content to the new console.
The vast majority of hands-on impressions have been pretty positive so far, so I don't put too much weight into the few who state the contrary.Oh I will, but I think holding a controller that wide presents some ergonomic problems, which has been brought up by people who have actually used the thing:
