Nintendo of America register Fireemblemawakening.com domain

Spirit Camera was probably cheap as hell to localize. Still I wonder if it really was worth the cost since Nintendo had to also print AR booklets.

I'd have thought the potential lack of sales along with the aforementioned booklets would override the cheapness of publishing it. But suffice to say i still think it's indicative of not Nintendo not being too keen on rejecting things for localization at the moment in the 3ds's life.

Why you got be such a devil's advocate Poyunch!? I miss PounchEnvy he knew how to be less of a killjoy :p.

Oh there's no doubt that this game is coming to NA but Nintendo's domain registrations don't usually mean anything. :p

I killed PounchEnvy and stole his identity.

Or maybe I'm a Cadmus clone...

Still not going to get excited until I see actual English footage released from NoA. I'm still hurting over the fact we never got New Heroes of Light and Darkness :(

axisofweevils

Holy crap! Today's real megaton is that more than two people can have the same first name.
NA will get it, but if Pikmin 2 is anything to go by, you'll get it in 2015. :D

A domain means absolutely nothing. Even if Nintendo doesn't plan to bring the game over, they won't want that someone else registers the domain of their game.

Nevertheless, I'm certain that Awakening will also be released in the US.

Fire Emblem would be cheap as hell to localize too -- after all it's already confirmed for Europe, so NoE is going to translate it regardless.

For those saying that registering the domain means nothing, what percentage of registered domains for first-party games end up not being used due to a decision to drop the localization? My guess is not very many.

I realize that such an action by Nintendo doesn't confirm any intent to localize, but it's definitely a good sign.

There might be some licensing issues but I really doubt anything conflicting would be present. If NoA were to just use EU's English localization I hope there's not too much British English slang.

I'm looking at you, "Square-tache".

My letter worked!

Your name deserves to be on the "Special Thanks" of the end credits.

The flavoured dialogue in Xenoblade is great though.

Like what's the problem with square tache? Dude has a square mustache.

Well in the States it's usually abbreviated as "stache". I just wanted to make a localization joke more than anything. It doesn't bother me that much
...anymore. :p

Now I can stop pretending not to care about the game.

This is almost certainly an NCL-mandated title, especially considering how well it is apparently doing.

I doubt the decision is in NOA's hands at all, except for when to release it.

The 3DS in the west can't really afford to turn down retail games. M3DL and MK7 helped it sell really well over the last few months, but most of that Japanese support won't be coming to America until summer.

I'm sorry, did Heroes of Light and Shadow get localized while I wasn't looking?

I'm sorry, I wasn't aware this was a remake to a game that was never released outside of japan and for the ds in the year said system was being replace with its successor.

While Mother 3 initially not coming here is something that probably could have been worked around, the fan translation has basically ensured it is never a possibility in the future.

I don't want that to deter people from making fan translations (I'm anxiously awaiting one for AAI2, if it ever comes), but the possibility of an english re-release somewhere down the line went from slim to none.

This is a good sign. I always had a stronger feeling that this will be localized compared to the feeling I had with XenoBlade only because Nintendo doesn't dominate the casual market anymore.

So what Nintendo said about re-focusing on its core fans is coming true. We need something like this.

As in "Heathcliff"
Stuff having to do with the music. Imagine if they replaced the music that was causing issues. That would be terrible.

Erm, I have heard of that but that was for Earthbound(Mother 2) itself. I never heard of anything that would associate to Mother 3 unless I overlook the articles.
