While i really liked Mugen from Samurai Champloo i will agree with this.

I really liked Mugen as well, such a great character. Too bad the ending sucked.

On-topic: lol it's so weird seeing them as adults, they look so different and I can't imagine adult Sokka making his usual jokes to be honest lol

will we ever see adult Zuko and adult Katara?

I know Zuko is alive but I don't mean their "old" self

Ahhh, thanks Omikaru and Ace.

Now that I think about it, while brief, they did mention
Aang having to fight in Replublic City (what's his name) years prior to Amon.

Mysterious elusive back story incoming!

Actually Sokka's father was known for his corny jokes as well. I don't see why Sokka would stop telling his.

i hope we see this (aka the not old lady version)

damn.

looks like the war is heating up.

I meant the unknown man in the flashback. If it is a flashback of the situation Tarlock mentioned early in the episode, it's obviously more significant than just a random Aang memory.

Edit: Also, it's been mentioned before, but a lot of this turmoil could be avoided if there was just a non-bender on the council...

No. The council should be made up of equal parts of both.
Two reps from each nation. One bender, one non-bender. Both elected by the people (and both benders and non-benders get to vote for both).
This would make it the most fair.

This, definitely this, but there should be just one water bender, representing all water benders in that world

one must wonder how they even came up with the brilliant idea of having no non-bender representative in the council

Because there wasn't a problem with Benders vs Non-Benders until after the War.
It was simply a problem of nations vs nations.
Peace time, however, has lead to the segregation of benders vs non-benders. And it's most evident in Republic City, as it has people from all the nations together.

No, I think having the North and South separated is a good idea, seeing as they are two very distinct countries with their own rules.
You wouldn't have someone represent Alaska and Texas at the same time, simply because they're both Americans.

The same could be said about the other benders, you want fair? that's the only way. For all we know, two water benders from both nations could plan a way to get up to that position and work together to do bad stuff, and if they could convince just one of the others, they would automatically be the majority.

Earthbenders from the east part are not the same from the west, considering the map for the Earth natio is huge

It's the perfect example that you gave, the "alaska" and "texas" thing

Haven't posted in here yet, but I just watched the first 4 episodes back-to-back on DVR. AMAZING. Great show so far, I was a big fan of Avatar (currently rewatching it on Netflix) and I'm really enjoying the change in setting this series brings.

And, Asami haters be damned!

No, but they all come from the one Earth Kingdom, which is united under the Earth King in Ba Sing Se. The two Water Tribes are entirely separate in terms of leadership. If any fire, air or earthbenders had broken off from their home to found a new nation (just as the Southern Water Tribe did), they too would've been similarly represented on the council.

So where's the new airbending nation? (I think I heard it being mentioned in the show but I forgot)

I hope she dies like Lust did.

I loved Lust.

I was uncomfortable when the task force raid went down. At the end of the day they are actively suppressing fellow citizens who wanted to learn something that evens the playing field.

If the raid had occurred at a training session to incite anarchy or to harm something specific I wouldn't have a problem with it.

This bothered me as well.

Fun episode, though. It was intense!

The fact that Aang's arrow was scarcely visible irritated me :(

Every airbender currently lives in Republic City.

Has that been confirmed? now that I think about it, the only air benders I remember being mentioned are Tenzin and his kids. Three-four people is now considered a nation? why even have Tenzin representing a nation which does not exist?

Man, what a tease. I want that full flashback now!

Nice to see Mako isn't a 100% Zuko clone like he was seeming before. His first interaction with Asami revealed a more light-hearted side to him.

As for Asami myself...meh. I don't hate her like the crazy shippers, but it feels like the creators just threw her in their solely for the purposes of shipping wars. Hopefully she gets more fleshed later.

Oh, and Bolin is the best character on the show.

So where's the new airbending nation? (I think I heard it being mentioned in the show but I forgot)

In TLA the airbenders where split into 4 temples (males only in the north and south, females only in east and west) but they still communicated (Aang went to the eastern one to meet Appa for the first time)

In Korra Aang made a Air Temple in Republic City so to keep the culture of his people alive (plus be a home for Tenzin and his family)

That's true but I think the only benders in the temple is Tenzin and his kids, in fact I think they're the only air benders in the world, right?

Presumably.

The Fire Nation killed all of them besides Aang, so that's the logical thing to think, anyway.

From the looks of it, yes.

But i think its more of rebuilding the culture rather than their actual bending. Plus maybe if they spiritual enough airbending will get big again (since the first "airbenders" learnt from the Sky Bisons).

A few reasons.
-One day, it will.
-The whole point of the show is that the four elements are supposed to be in balance. Hence, air nomads get representation.

- Probably but it seems it's much more difficult than we thought since people are living in air temple island and they know all the teachings , yet they aren't able to be airbenders. Maybe bending has more to do with genes, meaning Tenzin's kids need to have lots of children to get airbenders.
- That's my whole point, to me each council seems to represent that specific element bending. They represent all the benders in the world, meaning water should only have 1 representative of waterbenders. I am aware that there are two water nations but there is NO air nation, so that shows me it has more to do with the bending and not much to do with the nations themselves (since Tenzin shouldn't even be there)

That's my opinion though, I also understand what you guys are saying but if it's truly about nations, in my opinion, Tenzin shouldn't be there.

Really, I think she's around to be another female s well as a non bender in the cast that's around Korras age. Trolling shippers is just a plus.

Aang established the council, so I'm not surprised that his son who would've been past middle-aged by then, simply replaced him on the council and it wasn't as much about nations.
