Only saw the 1v1 portion of it, but it was refreshing to see some people actually playing the game correctly. Top 8 had quality matches, and the crowd got hype for some of them (even if it was only to support a local favorite).

Why snap in Doom when you are snap in Morrigan? Morrigan isn't very good at escaping incoming mixups, which is why Chris G had to put Doom before her. Then again that would force Chris G to start Morrigan which is barely a better option.

What happens when people play Morrigan/Doom/Strider?
Morrigan without Doom loses the majority of her lockdown ability as per the current metagame. It's really not that hard to understand.
Edit: GB that team sounds evil, but wouldn't Morrigan lose out on some damage with Vajira's hard knockdown attribute? Or are you thinking just to keep them in fireball height? I still think your Morrigan/Doom/Phoenix might be one of the more malicious teams though. :lol

Doom/Strider isn't as good as Doom/Ammy, Doom benefits more from a lockdown assist than from a Vajira that may or may not catch people pressing buttons in the air. Morrigan/Doom/Ammy is a legit team, I hope to see someone play it one day.
Doom is very good at escaping incoming mixup, I think after Sentinel he's probably the best character in the game at doing that. He can footdive and jump cancel, then DHC Morrigan or someone else in if he wants to. That's something which no one before Chris G was abusing, and you saw how Chris G and Unknown both reduced a lot of the randomness in this game by being able to escape incoming mixups. What options on the other hand does Morrigan have against incoming mixups? Her flight is slow, soul fists when someone is directly below you is risky and air shadow blade is ineffective.

That is my configuration. I suck ass with Morrigan(especially on 360 pad now...which is ironic) and Doom though. Every member is backed until the end and Ammy is a good anchor(not the best, but better than Doom). Clockwork's mixups and lockdown in Vanilla using Doom and Ammy made too much sense so I figured they will work fine in Ultimate. Marlinpie still uses them despite his earlier reservations so I guess it's all good.
I play that team, but I don't have the skill to take it that far(obviously) and Doom doesn't make me go nuts with enthusiasm.

If you're talking about the latest video, it won't play until you load the entire video. I clicked on it and nothing happened. I just let it sit there for like 30 minutes and then it finally played. So until it finally works like it should, you just have to be patient.

ChrisG finally didn't mental break himself at the tournament. Even when he lost it didn't seem like he was going to commit seppuku.
Oh and it's going to take at least 2 more majors of this before people start to adapt and use new teams for it. People nowadays don't have the MVC2 mentality of counter pick assists/teams. Interestingly enough the WC has performed better against that combination, let's see what they have in store at Seasons Beating.
For those that hate the Soul fist spam, you will be glad to know there will be none of that at Shadowloo. But there are going to be a shit ton of Vergils... the anti everything.

She will be replaced by a couple of Phoenix + Missiles players though (FChamp and Tokido).
