Good to see they're removing the ExTrEmE stuff from some of the runs. I'm pretty sure the O2 one in particular has kept me away from a number of tracks.

The 02 and rockies were the only extreme conditions I ever had a problem with. Rockies because its just, that one fucking map, is so god damn hard/pain in the ass to deal with. 02 is more annoying than hard.
I'm definitely not sad to see O2 go. The controller wrangling was a bit too much for me.
I love the shade ones because they're essentially free-ride with a twist for me, personally. A slow and calculated route is what works best -- a little bit of track memorization is required so that you can plan (and adjust on the fly!) your route properly. They're the most zen of all the survive it events, if you ask me. Those tracks just feel great to ride too, in my opinion: lots of awesome sun! I wish I could visit and ride a few of those runs in real life...
I'm really liking the new feature GE/GE of the day. It really crowds that one track with people, which really gives it the feeling of "you're on a ski hill with other riders -- but going down at 100+ KPH." Good to see the devs make these changes.

Yup, actually wingsuit tracks are mostly cool. I'm gonna have to start this up to check out those tricky tracks without O2!!!
Also, FML for bailing so much today on Mt Eddy's longest track, I mean fuck I had like 20 mil or something with like a little more than half to go... I just bailed and bailed. Sometimes on fucking railings, trees all that shit.
When I stream music from my PC it seems like certain songs come up way more frequently and others much less. Is this a problem with the way the game (xbox 360) or Windows Media Player or am I imagining things?
I checked the songs in the dashboard music player and they all play without issue.
While I'm asking noobish questions... Is it worth buying boards before getting to level 10? I have a race character and trick character leveled up to ten if I'm going for medals or high scores, seems like a waste to spend money on low level boards.

I think when you use custom music the in-game player is actually random every single time and doesn't note down that it just played that song one or 2 songs previously, so at anytime it could be any song from your playlist.

Seriously. I can't even make a legit attempt at your score. I was on par to hit at least 90+...which is still way below your top of the pops, but I bailed with like 350 meters left. Ugh...
Makes sense and I get that there is an equal chance of every song to be played every race but it seems like certain songs are weighted. I'm tempted to keep track of it to see if I'm really just imagining this.

I can use the remix setting when streaming from the PC. I think the echo and reverse effects kill a good song so I turn it off. Am I missing anything else by not ripping songs to my HD?

No I stopped bothering doing the burn CD thing a whole back and just popped my iPod into my Xbox. So much easier and I think after the novelty of the effects wears off it makes for a better experience. Especially when I'm geotag hunting, all those rewinds really kill the flow of the music.
Hmm, these 15-30 minutes events are a good idea, but I with they were alternating on the same peak, rather than repeat on the same exact run.
So that when the time runs out on a 15 minute event, you move onto another run for 15 minutes, then another then another.
I did make 10 million in half an hour though. The race ones are not bad at all. Easy golds without much effort.

Goddamn these new global events system, TWICE NOW I should have been awarded credits for placing in platinum and, nothing. Drop costs gone.
EA Servers would continously disconnect me after I'm done placing in Platinum with my runs and then I would sign back in to get no rewards.... and now the game just froze after paying the 2MILL entry fee for a GE, fucking great.

Now when you load up the Global Events there's a banner telling you the biggest one going on now, click on it and it'll take you there.

WOW! Siberia at dusk...just wow. It's like a whole new map to me (it was one of my favorites). Setting it at night time was not doing it ANY favors. Most of the maps are pretty lackluster at night but this is a massive improvement. I know they couldn't just set every map at dusk but just...wow.
Side note, I just noticed left trigger exists haha, moves are less spectacular when I tweak with left trigger, any reason behind this?

I am very tempted to get the Mt Eddie DLC, but as for the classic characters im not sure im so interested, do they have new moves or audio? Or are they just a reskin?

The best is the 30 minute survival ones where I start as the event starts and just do one run the whole time, diving off the edge at like the fifteen seconds left mark...feels so cheap but rakes in that dough

Just a reskin, but they count as new characters meaning they start at level 1. Kind of lame if you ask me, I wish I hadn't bought them. The mountains cool though.

Ah, do they have any advantage to stats over the base characters or not? I doubt I will bother with the character pack if they are just pure reskins.

Can you even level smoothly in GE? I got 120k for a diamond position with Mac but that's nothing spectacular even with double exp? :S Am I doing it wrong? Doesn't seem much faster than Explore mode to me. I usually get 10k or 20k now per run if I get Gold I think. Makes GE completely pointless from a leveling stand point.

Do a run in the double xp event, then keep hitting restart. If it's trick, you can basically just race to the bottom and sitll get 120k each time. It doesn't feel faster but its faster, trust me. First run is like 20k, but for whatever reason if you keep restarting, you'll get like 120-160k each time.

Level has a bit to do with it and gear as well, but, knowing the best line (route) to take is most important. So if you're struggling, follow the gold ghost to see which way it goes. Might even know some parts faster than it already too!

Yeah, with some dumb luck I got a Platinum in the Bulldog Trick Event. I've now leveled every single character up to 9 including the retro people. Eddie is 11 and Tane is 10. I may bring a few others to 10 or 11 before the weekend is over by continually doing that track.

I got Zoe and Mac to 11. About a quarter of the way to 11 from 10 wtih Elise right now. It's kinda mind numbing but haha, I'll probably stop after elise. Maybe get Alexis to 10, and Kaori or Tane to 10.

You're doing a run where you hit trees, or get stuck in some stupid rail line you didn't want to, or just feel like you suck in general, but you finish the run because "Ehh, what the hell?" Then you find out that SOMEHOW you've managed to jump like 5 people on the leaderboard with that garbage run, and can't even get close to that score again despite retrying numerous times and having way better looking runs....

I once got a 1st place among 30 or so in explore on my first try, and it was half-assed and I never could do it again, I LOLED.

The problem with Explore is there were so many drops and so many bad drops I put down a half assed time on almost all of them lol. A more refined Explore mode would be sweet, even just making a certain drop double exp and changing it daily would make things more focused.
