Yeah. You'd think Capcom and Sony would be on pretty good terms, but something must have happened. Because the platform decisions for a game like this would have been made before Vita even launched.

No, that would have been Vita. 3DS/PS3 is a limited theatrical release in select cities.
I am shocked no Vita, however. Considering Sony pitching all the cross-platform stuff for it, seems like this game would be a natural fit.

Yeah there's a pretty interesting scan out, which doesn't show anything other than the character design for a female character - TeeKee. It's very anime in design, and she's supposed to be some sort of shrine maiden of sorts for snow pirates. There are definitely terms and stuff which draw from Lost Planet.
There's some text that's cut off at the top talking about the game, sounds like it is a mission based/episodic kinda game, so imo it was probably built for portables and on the 3DS to begin with, especially considering the producer, and it's being ported to the PS3 so console gamers can also play it.

It makes more sense now that I've thought about it. Most viable portable, up-ported to Japan's most viable console.
trademarks =/= being localized, just that they are protecting their IP.
It also means they can make a 3DS game and still offer the game to the Lost Planet fanbase in Japan.
Eh, not really a huge fan of LP, but was going to check it out. Probably won't with this though.

Artwork looks hot, not sure what the hell to take out of "sci-fi version of Rival Schools", but I guess my interest is at least piqued.
The characters and setting. This is an action shooter, not a fighting game.

The PS3 and 3DS are the two strongest platforms in Japan right now, so this seems like the best combination.
PSP still has some life left in Japan though.
But if they're starting anew, it makes more sense to build the portable audience on the platform with a future.

Sure, but the 3DS is stronger at the moment. Plus the 3DS can run a version of their MT Framework engine.

Graphics don't look that great. Should have just licensed the CANVAS engine from Sega, since they are not putting it to use. ;_; The girl's outfit looks stupid.
Well...it's currently selling the best but the Wii is still the overall best-selling of the current gen.
