Well, I don't think you can argue against the fact that Pokemon spin-offs have been pretty shitty until this point. I'd like to see more like Conquest, and less like Pokemon Typing DS.

I love Pokemon Snap
Pokemon stadium games were fun but limited
And heard good thing about the Mystery Dungeon series.

*Shrugs*

Holy crap! Today's real megaton is that more than two people can have the same first name.
Link should be a Mii in the next Zelda.

I was thinking of the portable spin offs.

Pokemon Snap and Stadium 1 and 2 are amazing and I still play them to this day. If we don't get a new Pokemon Snap for Wii U then... well, we'd be missing out because that controller is fucking tailor made for a sequel.

Who would want to go on a safari/take pictures of any of the new Pokemon though?
I'd still buy it :-|

Just watched the BattleShip Quicklook on Giantbomb.

And it made me think, that if Nintendo retooled Batallion Wars graphically.. not gritty or realistic, but more in line with something like.. Team Fortress

And had you control units on the tablet while doing the whole 3rd person shooter on the screen. Could be a fun addition to their library.

I think I made (or if I didn't I started to and then exited out) a post like this last night. Battleship really made think how cool that would be on a tablet.

Batallion Wars would fit Wii U more than it fit Wii or GameCube.

Using the touchscreen to assign orders to troops or choosing where your airplanes or tanks will strike would be a lot of fun.

I actually like my Mii. It's such a good likeness, I use it as my Twitter avatar for my normal account - where I don't even tweet about gaming.

Watching an entire battle take place and managing your troops on the tablet as you fight individually in skirmishes would be really cool

I like them too! My Mii is the most accurate likeness of me I've made with any digital avatar creation kit. The more detailed you get, the more potential for mistakes there are.

Now that I think of it, isn't there this FPS/RTS hybrid game on PC, where it puts you into the action on the fly.

Now with Wii U these type of hybrids could work really well, and in real time with no transition from FPS/RTS view. Maybe we will see something of the sort.

Stadium 1 & 2 (especially 2) were BITCHIN'! :D

But of course Nintendo had the bright idea of bringing in Genius Sonority, basically fixing what certainly was not broken, even though I liked Colo and XD.

Then after the tragic PBR they went silent.

And so 6 years in we're still waiting for the next battle game.

Snap and Puzzle League were also amazing (what's with N64 getting all of the good ones? :(), and I liked Ranger as that was co-developed by HAL.

HAL needs to work on Pokemon again, get the Kirby's RTDL team on one for Wii U STAT!

What about a 2.5 Pokemon platformer by the team? I like the sound of that!

Both Killer Freaks and Ghost Recon seem to have some FPS/RTS hybrid stuff going on, and it wouldn't surprise me at all if it becomes a common subgenre on the Wii U.

No, i've said earlier that developers are building their games with at least 1GB of memory available to them. But there's a huge other part of the total system memory that they can't access at all, and it's for the system features, etc.

I'm going to go ahead and speculate this. 2.5 GBs of RAM. 1.5 GBs is out of their reach for now. With hopefully the .5 being all they need for the OS and the 2 for games.

Later, axis.

So, as I watch Dateline, per usual, I craved for the ability for the Wii U pad, because as much as I enjoy these murder mystery shows, it's better to multi-task while watching them. Anyway, this brought me to the question: do we know if all Wii U games will have the option to switch to the pad, or is it going to be the developer's choice?

Miis belong in Mario.
After all, doesn't he always say
"It'sa Mii, Mario?!"

And with that, I'm off.

Impressive, I don't remember if I've ever 100% this game, but along Metroid 1 and 2 it's the only metroid I've never replayed.

I just played through Metroid 2 for the first time a couple years back. Definitely could've benefited from having a map but it was still quite good and incredibly atmospheric. I will probably never play through the original Metroid again though.

I love some good asymmetrical multiplayer.

EDIT: Sounds really promising. If he's not just blowing smoke, then I'm super excited about his impressions with the controller, and that the Wii U will be the best version easily.

That was a great interview. I'm not hyped for the game. What are the chances the footage was from the Wii U version? It looked fantastic. Some portions looked a little more complex than what I've seen on 360/PS3.

- Best Shooter Controller
- It IS a next-gen system
- It's natural that it's a very powerful system
- Best looking version will be on Wii U

Well, that's that.

HYYYPE!

For a Nintendo console. Even with that though, he seemed super excited about the feel of it, and how it handles.

I'm assuming you mean the last 15 pages:

Note: I think I'll be re-editing this with the whole list in about half an hour, before I go mostly off the grid for a weekend of corsets, debauchery and goggles. So feel free to link to this post if people ask about news in the last N days.

cant believe you forgot my most important find.... NinjaBreadMan Wii U confirmed :p

He seems genuinely excited about the Wii U. If anyone is lacking confidence that Nintendo can deliver the goods, just watch this interview. The game looks pretty fantastic as well.

Wastes hours checking old Famitsu software data, but that's why we love him.
He also clearly said "more powerful machine" for what its worth.
