I am pretty sure nintendo.com will be streaming it. They did a good job last year.

And right after the conference ends, you will probably be redirected to their e3 site with exclusive videos with Miyamoto, and other developers, and awesome games!

The beginning was sloppy. We lost a good 30 seconds of the amazing Zelda Orchestra.

Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about Rayman Legends Wii U.
You'd be blown away by how many resources Nintendo wasted to achieve that completely useless feature, leading to Wii U games looking worse than Wii games in Dolphin, yes. ;)
Well, it would be useful for me and my roommates. D:

It is funny that you mentioned that, because I am watching the e3 presentation on their 2011 website haha

Hopefully there won't be any issues. Direct TV doesn't carry G4 anymore. :(

That Aliens CM interview has multiplied my hype by approximately 3.67.

The Wii U is almost definitely coming out before this holiday season, right?

But does Nintendo.com's stream work on iOS? I don't wanna have to try to stream it on my very poor notebook.

Make Neogaf News ep 4 with better audio, please. :p
Hehe. Still don't know how I can make audio better. I guess I may try to just be right in the camera the whole time. Are you one of the few people that watched episode 4? Episode 4 was a bomba when it comes to views after the first three episodes. Episode 5 is tomorrow and a new episode will come every two Saturdays so subscribe so that you'll be updated. I guess I'll post the new episode in the OT that I made but it seems that no one cares anymore...

Also, the new saga of Wii Master starts July 3rd and thats 26 chapters long, 10 chapters longer than my longest saga. You heard it here first Cabbie.

Also, a new show called "E3 News" will happen during the week of E3 where I'll post "YouTube News" like episodes every day of E3 week with news from E3.

And everyone, can you please have Thread VI start on the 26th? If you don't you will mess up my schedule for posting my Thread VI video where all we do is laugh for nine minutes straight. :p (Seriously when I post the video when Thread VI goes up watch it, it is epic!)

Nice to see a developer putting forth any effort to make the Wii U version look better than the other consoles.

Will this be a trend even if the graphical difference is minimal or is this an exception to what the rule will be???

A lot of early multiplats likely won't take advantage of the Wii U's boost in power.

Simultaneously developed versions by the same dev will probably take advantage.

If it's something like an outsourced port that needs to be done in a few months I doubt it.

I think it will come down to what is going on with the PC version of said game.

Biggest surprise for me from the interview was "best shooter controller". I wonder how that happened? I would have though it would be the worst given no real triggers, sliders and questionable ergonomics. This makes me a bit more optimistic.

Everything else was who da thunk it.

well we now know that the sticks do indeed click. So if nintendo made that adjustment it's reasonable to assume they made the triggers analog (BG also mentioned that rumour that it has been changed already), so now it just seems like a regular controller + a screen. Easy to see why it would be best.

Unless they had a cheap ARM CPU or something dedicated to minor tasks!
(no I don't expect that at all)
Was it though? I've heard complaints; usually in regard to the problem of turning.
I think the only problem is going off the sensor bar and losing tracking, but that can be worked around using the gyro/Motion+ to fill in any gaps.
Alright, that kind of worries me a bit. Hopefully that becomes a usual thing, because that was one of the coolest things I thought when it was announced.
Ironically I think it's most likely out of lazy ports that barely make use of the screen.

Yeah, I have no doubt they made the sliders click, that seemed like a non issue. And I presume they could have made the triggers a bit like the GC, just a lot more shallow, which would be perfect. But my shock was mainly due to the sliders as it relates to shooters, it doesn't seem like they'd be a "advantage" or even equal to a stick. So maybe hopefully they changed that too.

Since we're on the topic of controllers, I'd like to see Nintendo adopt Scuf's idea of paddles on the back of the controller, and maybe even mappable. Obviously they wouldn't be "paddles" due to patent, but Nintendo could adopt the premise with large shallow buttons on the back. To be honest I really love the paddle idea and it would be great in a standard controller, especially if mappable (within reason).

Well I was joking but found this from Lu Mu Bai over on B3D in March:

However some ARM components will be there that allow you to use social networking/browse the internet without turning the main CPU/GPU on, or perhaps impacting a paused gaming session. Similar to what is seen in the 3DS, a standby network processor functionality.
Hey maybe Wii Connect 24 won't burn up consoles if true.

Death Prophet
I hope there are more silly moments at Nintendo's conference. I would love another "BIG DAMN TRUCK" or "My body is ready". Something like the 3DS video where Miyamoto and Iwata went into the 3DS would be nice too.

Well he was still comparing it to just Nintendo controllers. But it's been a long time since the pad was shown and if there's one thing Nintendo would want to get absolutely right, it'd be the feel of an FPS game on the new controller, considering the predominance of that genre these days.

Plus all the rumblings about the Wii U, and other stuff Nintendo is doing, shows that Iwata is finally getting Nintendo to be a lot more collaborative with their hardware design, listening to third parties. Same goes for their OS design.

I was watching this old E3 1996 video of the revealing of N64.

It's cool to see how amazed people were by everything back then.

And it was cool to see Howard Lincoln there.

This N64 1996 promo was neat too. Has Ken Lobb in it.

This reminds me. Someone posted the E3 Killer Instinct SNES reveal from 1995.

Posted this in the other thread, but yeah anyway

To compete in the online space, all they need to do is this:

1. Have an OS that's freely patchable and update friendly, to future-proof the console throughout the generation.

2. Have multiple profiles available on each console. Each one must be linked to a Club Nintendo account along with any content, NOT tied to the console itself.

3. Allow title updates and patches for games.

4. Have a natural evolution of the eShop, with access to DLC, demos for every game and patches.

5. Voice chat and a decent friend list system.

That's it for the ESSENTIAL stuff. Now, the other stuff which would also be nice:

6. Gamecube/VC downloads from launch. A method to transfer your content from your Wii to the Wii-U (a transfer system seems unlikely though...)

7. Hulu/Netflix available at launch in the USA. Netflix/Lovefilm/BBC iplayer/ITV player etc available from launch in the UK. Very likely, and will help cement it's place in the living room for any audience.

8. Decent music/video capabilities. Fine, it can't play Blu Ray or DVD - but what's stopping it from playing MP3/MP4/DIVX? Not online related, but yeah.

Anyone disagree with me on these points?
