Rumor: New Wii U controller (analog sticks)?

Remember the crazy rumor before last year's E3 about haptic feedback touchscreens, with the electric currents running through them so you can feel the shapes and textures of the items displayed (ice, grass, dog fur, etc)?

I WANT DAT.

They fixed the only two things I've seen people care about. What's wrong with it?
No they didn't. There were way more than two things.

I don't understand why they bothering to any of the old aesthetics with this new design. It's bulkier and uglier. They might as will angle the grips for more comfort and move the right stick to it's expected spot. And I have no idea what those point of those + and - buttons are for... they're look terrible and still aren't in a useable location.

And clicky-sticks with no guides are a major step back.

As long as the ergonomics turn out great, and the triggers follow suit, I'm happy. Although I would prefer the right stick below the face buttons, personal problem.

None, so why assume it's a negative without any precedent or having tried it?

Because it seems like it'd hinder gameplay due to it's placement. You seem to be further away from the main buttons like A/B for example. I just don't see it being as optimal as what's been used before, hence the skepticism.

It'll be interesting to see if Nintendo opts for the Y/B combo as the main buttons if the right sticks stays in it's location. Or maybe even moving the A button to where the Y is...

But I guess it would require me to use it to better determine if the accessibility to A/B is even a issue.

Why not just wait and actually hold the tablet controller before shitting all over it?

Because that would make too much sense.

This is great news. I remember so many foos saying there was no way they'd change them to sticks. Very glad that (it seems like) they did.

BEHOLD MY SCALED HACKJOB!

The button most distant from the right analog is 8% farther apart than on PS3, and 4% farther than on 360. (Read: A difference of a few millimeters.)

Great graphic. Hopefully this gets rid of some of the doubts that the buttons will be hard to reach.

Motion controlled sword fighting for life. IR aiming for everything else though.

Also i guess I usually dont use the right stick and press buttons at the same time, unless its a shoulder button.

Question: Did you even hold the thing yet?

why must i hold to give comments? that thing is just unnecessary big and rectangular.
did the E3 holders held the thing for prolong times? did they pick up and down as they would at home? what was nintendo thinking of doing to make such a controller? it does not make sense!

Disregard that last post, I did it better. This one also lets you compare vertical and horizontal spacing.

For those having a hard time with my stupid-ass choice of colors...

Wii U: 7 transverse, 29 longitudinal. Length ~29.83

PS3: 22 transverse, 14 longitudinal. Length ~26.07

360: 21 transverse, 15 longitudinal. Length ~25.81

If you're going to compare the spacing between the furthest button away from the analog stick to the analog stick on the Wii U controller then you should do the same for the other two instead of just taking it do the circle/b button.

You say this as if people going to E3 have no idea how much a normal controller weighs.

White Sticks = It's gonna turn yellowish/brownish after a group of people have their way with it.

Just like my nunchuck stick :(

I had a sealed nunchuk from around launch that I had not opened for about 4 years and the stick had yellowed inside the package.

It's beautiful. Haven't been this excited about a console launch ever. Really hope E3 has plenty of software to really push my hype though the roof.

I'm comparing the buttons that are farthest away from the center of the right analog. That's the bottom of the diamond on the Wii U since its layout is tall, and the rightmost button on PS3 and 360.

Well, how are they gonna get that screen there otherwise?

It doesn't need to be that big or that rectangular.

We havn't seen Nintendo do a technical hardware jump since the GCN. Remember how goddamn exciting seeing Waverace, Star Wars, Pikmin, Smash Bros, Mario, and Metroid run on new gen tech. All of those games came out within the first year too.
