Lightweight division is so nuts, you could have trilogies and quadrilogies or whatever else over and over with close ambiguous divisions. It's what happens when no one has knockout power.

I didn't mean that everyone outside of UFC sucks. I just think that ranking people based on what they do outside of the Ultimate, especially as high as Melendez has been, is stupid.

What's wrong with being ranked highly from beating other highly ranked non-Ultimate opponents?

It's not like he became #2 by beating some random cans. Gil has beaten the top of the heap.

C'mon. Heavyweight has been the exception to this since the UFC hasn't had many top guys traditionally in that weight class. But guys in the other weight classes only occasionally fight another top guy outside of UFC, so until they come in I don't think you can fairly rank them against the UFC guys (since rankings is supposed to be about results versus other top competition and not potential).

I said I thought Overeem would kick the shit out of every UFC fighter not named JDS, even before JDS beat Cain.

Nothing Barnett can really do cept try to catch Cormier in a surprise sub.

He's much slower in the stand-up and Cormier is a much better wrestler, so Barnett can't pull his typical clinch takedowns into ground submissions.

Barnett is good and would be a top guy in the UFC. DC is just that good.

Yep, Cormier just parked it in full guard and threw some nasty elbows. Barnett couldn't do shit except hold on.

Obviously he won the standup big too.

I don't see who can beat Cormier, except maybe Cain or JDS.

Cormier would wreck Overeem.

Cormier takes a punch better than Cain. Ever since the Kongo fight I've questioned Cain's chin. Nothing fickle about my thoughts on that. Cain:Cormier::Rashad:Bones

Good card, but as Heel said, there needs to be a break from MMA. We could all die with this amount of coverage.

Had a card Tuesday and tonight. Then next week is Cigano vs. Mir. Then a week later on Friday, Ellenberger vs. Kampmann. Then a week later on another Friday, McCall vs. Johnson. Then nothing the week after, but two weeks later there's a Friday event event with Maynard vs. Guida, then Wanderlei vs. Vitor the next night.

Fucking fuck. I can't watch that much more BadMMA to get to the one or two meaningful fights on a card, I'm telling you. I'm going to go insane.

It's a habit. I watch the prelims for all these cards because nothing else is on, waiting for the notable fights or potential good matchups on the card.

If we had 12 stacked cards making it like an event like it used to be, this would be a lot easier. I'm one Ross Pearson-Cub Swanson fight away from going insane. And yes, that's a future fight to look forward to next month.

I've pretty much cut prelims out of my life entirely. I'm a much less angry person because of it.

Josh Barnetts hand was broken in the first round the fact he kept in the game thru 5 was awesome..DC definately schooled him tho..for such a small reach he really is an effective striker.
