Decent episode. It has the whole school comedy thing going, with more Medaka being awesome. I am looking forward for what's coming up, but that's pretty much been the motto of watching this series has been all season.

It's a comedic harem deconstruction. Has been since the beginning.

Sure, but season 1 had an arc and several battles. Now it's just stacking up girls that he'll never have sex with since he's just a harem lead.

I'm okay with that, especially when they give Tomonori more screen time.
Is it yuri if the main character can turn into a magical girl?

Chihayafuru 10

Sports bullshit in a "sports" anime, I should have expected that.
I really wanted them to lose so they can learn to be a better team the hard way, but whatever, this outcome will do for now.
This is a (Japanese) sports anime, so...

I just want to collect animu and figurines and have fun with the hobby until I am cold and dead. If a woman is willing to accept it, then all the better. Not expecting that though.

I used to dream of being an animator in Japan. That didn't happen, and considering what they're paid, it's probably for the best. :/

Yes. Its borderline criminal how animators are treated.

I just can't understand why they can't scale back the number of productions they won't sell per year (since most anime sells like crap anyway), focus that money on paying the animators more, making them most likely much happier and more likely to take pride in their work to put out better quality works that more people will buy?

The Light of El Cantare
So much for the argument that the nakedness of the scene was meant to put Araragi and Shinobu in equal grounds. In the end, it turned out to be nothing but shameless lolifan pandering. Reminds me of the whole "Mami's empty house represents her loneliness" thing from Madoka episode 2.

I'm going to do something that I've never done before, and say fuck SHAFT. Not only does the removal of manservice stop the scene from being uncomfortable enough to be watchable, but the opaque water that they hastily added to the tub looks like ass regardless of the intent.

Araragi is ripped. He's a good-looking guy. 2D girls fall all over him for a reason. Deal with it, Japanese otaku.

The architecture in Madoka is the most amazing stuff in animu since Utena.
I don't think so. The architecture in the monogatariverse may be weird and unusual but I don't it's aesthetically pleasing or particularly clever. It comes across as a mismatch of styles, colours, textures, materials and objects that doesn't really have any kind of consistency or beauty.

That's the opposite of the architecture in Utena.

Scaling back the number of productions would lead to some companies having to close due to lack of work.

Anyway, we've seen that better animation doesn't translate into better sales.

My take on it is that, between otaku having very limited attention spans, the desire by production companies to promote new LN/manga, and the fact that most of them probably need the work to eat for that season, most animation studios probably don't have that luxury. I don't think it's as simple as: "Don't make anime for a season, have more money", especially for studios with multiple branches. They're paid to make the anime, after all.

Is bath water even that clear anyway.

Unless you're extraordinarily filthy when you get in the tub, yes!

No no, it already has destroyed Japanese animation. That, and the death of cell animation.

I think I saw a few of your alts in the Oreimo thread last night.

I don't think it's any otaku's dream to be a god of Karuta.

I don't see why not, if it's merely treated as a means to the end of acquiring a 2D waifu.

I was talking about Madoka.
The school, Madokas house, Mami's room. All that stuff.

It's all the same stuff approach, and I don't think much of it.

Chihayafuru is a shoujo though, so it's not really the kind of situation where you 'acquire' a girl, not without several years of wistful glances, at least.

Otaku are obviously intimidated and greatly envious of Arararararargi's manly physique. Removing it was the only choice Shaft had :(

If they were going to do this, they shouldn't have half-assed it. Give him tits or make him 300 lbs, but don't just hide his washboard abs. That's extraordinarily lazy.

It's considered josei but seeing how it has 17 volumes so far, I don't think the difference matters.

History has shown that putting more effort into making a movie, game, or animation doesn't translate into sales directly. I don't really see why studios even put forth the effort at all. I'm glad they do but I guess some studios are more guided by creativity than money. they don't normally last long doing that but I'm glad they exist for the short time that they do. Its just a shame that they are not often rewarded for it.

I swear, the only really good thing about this show is its soundtrack.

This episode wasn't anything special... Much like the previous six. The crew is still too good at what they do. Koko at tricking others, Lehm at shooting with his sniper rifle, Jonah with his strategies, and Valmet with her knives. It seemed as if this week's antagonist was going to be up to their level, but that wasn't the case at all. A shame.
So, apologies if this is question is too personnel, but why are you still watching? Would you rather not drop a bad show for the possibility of watching a better one?
Eh. I need something to watch on Wednesdays, and I'm not in the mood for Little Battlers.

There's the whole entire back catalogue of anime to investigate. It wont watch itself you know!

Good episode. The whole aftermath or what of it after last week's episode was pretty nice. I am still liking Yuki being more sure of himself even though this is pretty much a common thing now, it's still pretty nice to see that. The fishing parts was pretty fun to watch as well.

The whole breakdown at the end of the episode was really depressing to watch. Poor Sakura. :[

Eureka Seven 40-50 (END)

I'm going to need a bit of time to fully process everything, but I can safely say that overall I really enjoyed the show. I guess I do want to commend a couple of scenes though:

Episode 48
The entire scene with Anemone's salvation and theEND's purified form. Extremely powerful.

Episode 50
Everything from the awakening of typeZERO's true form up to the epilogue.

Of course there were similar scenes across the rest of the series and there is some recency bias, but I do feel that these two easily outclassed the rest of them.

e: eh, one more thing about the ending:
it was a bit more open-ended than I would have liked, but it wasn't that big of an issue
.

But you did at least get to enjoy it while it was kinda entertaining.

AKA: Hobohei being the greatest animu character ever; not giving any fucks at all.

Maybe they'll make a spin-off staring Hei one day. That would be kind of cool.

And, as we've all come to find out, romances that require actual interaction with a female before she will fall in love with you automatically relegates a series to Fractale sales.

Secretly, I suspect that Porky was the most realistic viewer-insert of all time. Ugly and so firmly planted in Chihaya's friendzone from the first moment that he never expresses a moment's romantic interest in her, he's foreveralone with his karuta.
