MMA |OT3| When you lose you're a can, when you win you're unstoppable.

Cormier looks like he's just a ball of muscle, Cain would cut better I think.... probably wouldn't want to though.

Cain could make the cut far easier than Cormier. Even if kidney problems weren't a factor. Like you said, Cormier looks all muscle. Cain on the other hand looks quite soft, and losing a bit of fat would probably put him closer to the LHW limit than the HW limit.

Jones vs. Velasquez would be quite a scrap.

Yellow Light of Death? If so, reflow it so it works temporarily and trade it in to Gamestop when there's an extra trade-in offer. It's what I did when my fat died. My friend sold his on Craigslist when the YLOD happened.

I live in quite a bit of fear that my Near-Launch PS3 will crap out completely. PS2 compatibility means a lot to me. Then again I look after my shit quite well and haven't used it that much in the last four years.

And the fact that the PS3 has been out now for almost six years is blowing my mind. The last ten years of my life have flown by completely.

-_- what have I been doing with my life...

Ditto but to be honest, nearly all of my favorite PS2 games are available on HD collections so it's not a big deal if I lose that feature. Not as big a deal as it would have been 2 years ago anyway.

I can see him getting an automatic heavyweight title shot to unify the belts and then drop to 205 to avoid any conflicts with Cain if he loses.

If he wins we're heading for some Jackson camp style drama. Cain could be getting a title shot if he wins this Saturday.

There's no way Cornmeyay can get down to 205 with all his limbs intact.

I've got over 100 games for it that I'll get around to playing eventually... but to be honest with the attention I give my console gaming by the time I seriously commit to clearing the backlog PCSX2 should be able to do the job just fine.

There's no way Cornmeyay can get down to 205 with all his limbs intact.

That and why exactly does he need to cut weight? No-one would risk their health asking Mark Hunt to cut weight just because he's 5'10". And Pat Barry is content to ride out his gatekeeper role at HW instead of potential greater success at a lower weight class. I have a feeling that this is solely because of clashing ambitions with Cain. Especially since the UFC is determined to ride the Brown Pride Hype Train until the wheels fall off and that doesn't leave much for Cormier's hopes of being HW champ.

Black Fedor is legit. Great wrestler who actually seems to have a natural gift for striking. He'll do really well in ultimate.

He's the next great can!

I've been humbled by Black Fedor. I was hyping the War Master Barnett on the back of his inevitable victory over Can Canmier. But I was proven wrong. Oh so wrong. I'm on the Black Fedor Bandwagon now until he retires. Which knowing his luck will be from a persistent hand injury just after his first fight in the Ultimate.

We have seen enough of DC at this point to claim hes legit. He utterly destroyed a very game Barnett in very impressive fashion. I can't say the same thing about Can. Can can't take a punch and that will be his downfall in a division where 1 punch can change the course of a fight.

He was dropped multiple times by Kongo. It was obvious that JDS was going to KO him in that title fight. No chin means you can't take a punch in the face, not literally being hit in the chin.

Everyone gets rocked, especially in the HW division. Not like the dude is being flattened repeatedly like Schaub and Zombie Cro-Cop out there.

I don't even like Cain but the negativity regarding his talent is so overboard it's not even funny. A complete reversal of where he was a year ago.

The Cain backlash is because the UFC went really overboard on hyping a fighter that was 9-0 against C tier competition like Rothwell and Kongo. They were billing him as "The Perfect Fighter". Anybody that has watched the Kongo fight saw right through this.

I don't think the guy sucks as much as you think I do (I like to joke about the Cain hype) but I have never been that impressed with his performances and the competition hes faced.

Hes a top 10 in a division where there are horrible match ups for him.

Yeah seriously. I don't give a damn about Cain but he's clearly way better than he's given credit for. I'd actually actively root for Back Fedor if they ever fought, but I guarantee he'd be the underdog.

MMA-GAF is funny. A year ago, somebody said that Fedor always sucked, and that Cain Velasquez is the HW GOAT because unlike Fedor, he's beaten legit competition like Ben Rothwell, Cheick Kongo, and Brock Lesnar.

A year later, now Cain is the can, JDS is the HW GOAT, and Fedor still sucks.

incoming Fedor debate

But seriously speaking, Cain Velasquez has just started. He's only 29 with 10 fights.

He has a pretty boss skillset. I think he could go on to do some pretty great things tbh.

They're all cans waiting to be opened with the newest can opening technology.

I hate heavyweights for the most part, so I'm just having fun debating the HW division and its silliness.

Thread title was made for Cain. We joke about everyone being cans but Cain really did go from unstoppable to can in a 59 second span.

I'd still consider Cain the #2 HW in the world. Hope to see a rematch between him and JDS sometime soon since a 1 minute fight (particularly if its a knockout) doesn't really tell you much.

I have no interest in a Cain vs JDS rematch. Cain got easily outclassed and its not even like it was a lucky punch or getting caught, he got legit killed. Getting caught is when Mir threw a lucky knee at CroCop, Franklin KOing Liddell and even Evans catching Liddell with that right.

Nah, I consider it a pretty lucky punch tbh.

But yeah, if Cain wants a rematch, he should wrack up 2-3 wins first.

That being said, I hope Bigfoot fucking kills Cain and we never get that rematch.

You'd rather see JDS vs. Bigfoot over JDS vs. Cain II? God no. I'd take JDS vs. Werdum II over that fight.

No, it's because I like Bigfoot, and I'd rather see him smash Cain than lose and be relegated to can status.

Unfortunately, Bigfoot is pretty much inferior in every area except size and jiu-jitsu, so the smart money is on Can Velasquez.

Think of it this way: If Bigfoot loses we might get to see him legit kill Struve.

I think part of the problem is Struve being way too confident in his stand up game.

The strategy against Lavar should be painfully obvious, but I'm not at all confident that he's gonna go in there and get a TD before getting his head knocked off. He waits around way too long when it's a clear advantage, e.g. against Barry.

As has been said the beauty of hws is they can all legit kill each other at any time. I'm generally interested in seeing any of the top guys fight.

Who wants to see Theebee Dollaway even if he wins? The fact that he'll be a 10 fight UFC veteran baffles me. Joe Silva's TUF pet projects are the worst.

Maybe its lucky Sonnen didn't fight in Brazil. Take heel lessons from a great:

During Thursday's WWE Raw Live Event in São Paulo, Brazil, Chris Jericho denigrated the Brazilian flag during a match against WWE Champion CM Punk. This has resorted to WWE suspending Jericho indefinitely.

This is said to be a major issue for WWE at the moment.

The official WWE website features an update on the situation with comments from Jericho regarding the incident.

“I made a bad judgment call in the course of entertaining [WWE] fans in Brazil,” Jericho told WWE.com. “I apologized to the people in the crowd for showing disrespect.”

During his match with Punk, Jericho took the Brazilian flag Punk was holding, threw it to the ground, and stomped on it. Desecrating the national flag is a crime in Brazil and is a punishable offense. Jericho was almost arrested and ended up being rushed to the airport to get out of the country into Ecuador.

WWE.com's report confirm police stopped the event and gave Jericho the option to apologize or be arrested. Jericho immediately told the crowd he regretted his actions, allowing police to let the event continue.

Due to his actions, WWE officials suspended Jericho indefinitely.

“It was a bad move,” Jericho said. “I did it with [our] fans’ entertainment in mind and I’ll accept the consequences for that.”

Frank Mir insists only "stupid" people would argue against the fact that he is the best heavyweight in UFC history, and he mocked Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira's claim that the American's ground game is "simple".

"A lot of the general fans know. My statistics stand alone on my accomplishments in the UFC," Mir said during Thursday's press conference. "There's a select group in life that speak from emotion, not intelligence. They don't look at statistics, they don't look at track records, they don't watch videos and form opinions.

"They form opinions with emotions. And the problem is, all of us who are intelligent, we're not very loud when we think something. We don't scream something, we don't get passionate, we don't get angry, it seems that it's the stupid people who are passionate about what they have to talk about.

"Just because you're the loudest, doesn't mean you're the majority."
