I'm hoping for equal. That's reasonable based on all the rumors we've been hearing. I don't think there's many people on GAF who expect to see Wii U games to look better in any meaningful way, though.

There 'are' people who expects a console likely $50 more expensive than PS3, to not only have a tablet controller, but to have 'at least' 4x processing power.

It's just illogical to expect Wii U be anything more than 1.5x-2x more powerful than current gen.

I'm not sure, but i dont think that it will be easy to see the graphical differences through a video stream. Unless it is quite noticeably worse or better.

I actually think Pikmin will be among the titles not looking good; mostly because it was a Wii game to begin with, and projects moving from one gen to next gen... well...

I don't think Pikmin 3 was ever in full production for the Wii, otherwise I think we would have seen it by now. It was never going to be a Wii game.

I really hope that's the case; it's close shots of soil and leaves, etc... just imagine them in HD; I believe it is something never done before; all the texture for ground stuffs look very basic even in best looking games

The only way Nintendo can fail today is if the graphics are equal to or worse than 360/PS3. GAF will completely meltdown.

They're first gen titles for a system that's not hugely overpowering those consoles. Most will look equal.

I mentioned this in the MS and EA conference threads yesterday but they moved so fast that I couldn't even check if people answered...

BUT was Spike TV's fee really choppy for you guys as well? It was as if I was watching a stream from an internet source. It kept pausing every 3-5 seconds and would skip over.

I really really hope they have that fixed by Nintendo's conference today. Not only is this the most anticipated E3 in a long long time for me (Nintendo fan!) but I just happen to be home from work, its being broadcasted live in HD on TV, and I have 0 errands to run!

If the console costs anywhere from 299 to 350 they won't be emphasizing casual games at this E3. They're going to focus on persuading early adopters to pick up the system.

Because some people like more than just Nintendo home consoles. Origins came out on everything, including 3DS and a beautiful Vita version. Now we can only play at home, and non-Nintendo single-console owners get nothing. And both 3DS and Vita can do everything shown in Wii-U, at lower res/detail.

Yeah I agree that 1.5x to 2x more powerful is a reasonable assumption. Which should allow for a nice leap in graphics from current gen. Though I'm sure we'll still see WiiU games at E3 that are worse looking than some of the better looking PS360 games.

I was getting ready to watch the conference, and since I have to watch it on my crappy pc since my iPad doesn't work with anything (or atleast not well, seriously its 2012, get stuff working on mobile you guys) so I turned on my pc, but it being crappy and all, messed up and froze on me!

It took me 15 minutes to get t to work! FIFTEEN MINUTES!!! I missed fifteen minutes of the conference! I was so pissed.

So I get on it and its a trailer(Not even a trailer but a "scene"),,,for Layton 3DS. Wtf? Layton and Luke got eaten alive by spme wasps apparantly. Seems like Layton's crazy plots carry over to my dream.

I was so mad, that I woke myself up. When I woke up a heard a beeping noise that I still don't know what t was. Maybe it was in my dream? Anywayz, I woke up and was so happy it was a dream! It felt so real.

Someone hold me. It was scary in my subconcious. Please pc, don't mess up today! You worked fine for Sony's conference! (But that was on uStream. I don't know if Nintendo will have a uStream video...)

I think i have an idea what NSMB Wii U might be...

Its not your usual mario platformer per se...

I thought about what we saw at Nintendo Direct and i think i MAY know where they are heading with this.

When you start, you get your OWN world map. Via level editor you can create own levels and make "path" to the next levels. You can make it look like a real Mario map.

Now the cool part:

All of your friends have access to your Map aswell and can play your levels and leave a comment (Hence the Video where you see comments on levels). You can do the same with their Mario maps! (Iwata said: User created content sharing on the ND)

They may even be able to place a level of their own on your map anf challenge you.

They could have access to your levels even while you are not in the game. You will get a notification when a Friend left a comment or placed a level for you!

Maybe you can add archivements to every level (Hence the "Finally beat in under 100 seconds" comment on the map at one level)

That would be SOO sweet

What do you think about this idea?
