Does PS Vita exist / Lack of Vita games at E3

I was hoping Sony at the conference would announce they are making the Vita the easiest device to localize content on. I assume its some silly requirement on their end thats keeping games like Tales and Lord of from coming over and Namco/SE don't want to sell the rights to someone else

Maybe they are aiming for that direction? I mean if you don't want to support it, fine. At least get rid of any requirements you might have like requiring English voice acting or whatnot

I could be way off base though, I have no idea what it takes to bring a game over

SCEA's gotten to the point where you don't even have to localize a game to sell it on PSN. So far, it's just PS1 games that are doing it, but they were apparently going to let Sega dump Yakuza 3 on PSN with just translated menus. Fortunately publishers understand that people often want to understand the story in story-driven games, but something like Hatsune Miku would be perfect for the import section.

This is what THIS thread does to people:

Do you guys realize what you are doing? Do you? You guys are painting a negative image of a console that has a GREAT lineup of games and give people the impression there is nothing coming out. Sony had a poor showing, but this thread is even worse.

What is the great lineup?

What's it been? 4 months? Some would still call this the launch window for the Vita. The 3DS had a pretty crappy library after 4 months if I remember.

Most of this Vita hate is ridiculous. I see trolling Sony is still in fashion on this board.

Sony deserves to be trolled for this. I think their press conference was the best of the big 3, but the Vita showing was very weak at a crucial moment.

We really needed to see some Call of Duty.

I am super hyped about Assasin's Creed Liberation, PlayStation All Stars, Little Big Planet, and Gravity Rush. I don't know where this "Vitahaznogamez" bullshit is stemming from. Vita needs a price drop and cell phone functionality is what she needs.

for the e3 watchers. the pc is the most important show to get a look on future titelsand sony clearly showed nothing. despite the fact the vitalineup has potential.

Not sure if this was shown yet, and I would do a search on GAF but the search function is missing for some reason...

Keiji Inafune's Vita game Soul Sacrifice NEW E3 TRAILER!:

I guess this is confirmed for western localization!

Has a thread for it and it was posted here a few pages ago.

Love the trailer and can't wait for this game.

Someone mentioned above the Sony hate is ridiculous. It really isn't. What's ridiculous is the mass hysteria of "zomg need to sell Vita".

I wonder how many of those people will pick it back up in 6 months.

I was waiting to buy a Vita until after E3. The lack of a bundle, price drop, or even games shown just completely turned me off. I'll just take whatever money I have saved for it and upgrade my phone to a Galaxy S3 and be on my merry way. Price drop or bundle sony, thats the only way you'll get any traction on this thing.

For what games?

After Gravity Rush there is really no original content coming out.

I'd say it has a better lineup than the 3DS had in it's first year (Yes there are ports such as Persona 4, but the biggest 3DS games were pretty much ports as well)

Sony messed up big time not giving the Vita enough love in the conference though

There is nothing on the road map for Vita next year.

Except . . . they did show a bundle.

So you're saying all Sony needs is a time machine?

Keep your Vitas. You can't get jack shit for them now, anyway, and you'll resent taking that kind of loss. Enjoy the few full games it still has coming, the PSN stuff, the PSP/PS1 (whenever the hell that gets sorted) emulation, and whatever apps are left, and take it as a lesson in buying new hardware backed by vague promises at launch.

I'm saying barren first year software isn't exactly a foreign concept in gaming, it's pretty much a given for early adopters

Vita had a great launch lineup, and has a sputtering of nice content over the next year (Gravity Rush, Sound Shapes, Soul Sacrifice, Ragnarok Odyssey, Ys, MGS/ ZOE HD, P4G, Assassin's Creed III) yeah overall it's pretty barren but I can't think of any platform that had no dry period in it's first year, this gen.

Come TGS and if there's still not a variety of Vita games revealed for next year, then I'll fully agree with the sentiment

How is Sony going to move those 18 million units, when they had such a poor showing at E3?

Good question ! Only Sony knows at the moment. ^_^

Call of Duty could sell a lot of Vitas.

I don't know. They may need a platform move, rather than banging on isolated titles. Good ones take time to come.

I also think that for Sony to push Vita hard, they may need to clear the PSP channel inventory as well. Without which, I'm guessing Sony will take a slow burner approach.

I actually just cancelled the Vita version of Metal gear solid hd. The PS3 version is 29.99 and I had a 10 dollar credit. I couldn't pass up on peace walker and play with my 7.1 surround sound. (COOL STORY BRO) Ill buy the vita version if it gets down to 20

No PW kills the MGS HD Vita edition for me.

If there is a solid multiplayer experience, then it could. But why would anyone choose the vita cod over the ps360 cod?

Because you can play on the go?

If they're smart the multiplayer portion ought to be the same and you should be able to crossplay with the PS3 and your progression is shared between two versions.

Love my Vita..

All this talk of The Last of Us inspired me to pip in Uncharted 3 (never beat it due to Skyrim Addiction + Life events).

Popped in in and what do you know, I need a long ass update. (as with every time I turn on my PS3.)

Perfect solution? Busted out my Vita and played 2 levels of Golden Abyss while the update downloaded.

Love this device, can't wait for more games. Doesnt MGS HD come out in like a week?

How exactly are they going to be able to 'play on the go"? Unless, you're referring to the SP.

I guess I'm in the minority but I'm actually really happy with my Vita and my ownership experience so far and about the upcoming titles. I don't feel ignored by Sony and I don't feel that I made a bad purchase or that I need to get rid of my Vita.

I'm excited for Gravity Rush, MGS HD (I want to play Snake Eater on the Vita!) and Lego Batman 2 this month and those games (along with Disgaea 3 and Dynasty Warriors: Next which I still haven't finished) will keep me busy for the better part of the summer.

After that I very much am looking forward to Project Diva f (import), Ragnarok Odyssey, Sound Shapes, Little Big Planet, Good People Die, Persona 4G and Assassin's Creed III for this fall. And that certainly doesn't take into account any PSN games like Guacamelee which looks very good.

So either I'm easier to please or perhaps just have broader tastes in gaming than some but I'm feeling really good about the Vita's first year. It certainly beats the pants off of the first year of most any other system I've ever owned.

I think it does, along with Gravity Rush

I love it too ! Haven't been playing on the PS3 since I got my Vita ! ^_^

It was a mistake not to show at least a sizzle real but given the big three's collective emphasis on the mainstream this year, it's not surprising that there weren't that many games announced at E3: it's fast becoming western blockbuster announcements only and western devs have never been all that big on portables. Perhaps this year we really will need to wait for TGS?

Yeah, I'm amazed Sony felt no need to push the Vita harder considering it's position in the market, Sony are either dumb or playing dumb.

I really hope TGS is a return to form, not just for Sony but for all Japanese developers

I'd say hold onto it. This could just be another 3DS situation: the games could be just really late instead of just late.

The future doesn't look promising, but you don't want to miss whatever gems it does get.

TGS is dead. It will bring nothing as usual.

See now I see why ppl say yall are probably trolling. TGS is the E3 of Japanese companies. It isn't DEAD infact I find it more relevant than E3 simply because more games I like are announced and shown there. Lol @ you dismissing TGS like its a random lesser show. Smh
