Answered my own question last page. Seems I was trying to use new plugins with an old build does not work. I got the option to make font clean in DQ8 but now it has a thin border on the bottom and left sides of the screen. Also can't play a 5x internal res now. 4x looks great though so no big.

Ah well. Also SVN build I had to change all the paths for bios etc. Little stuff but annoying.

Did they try to fix the mess you get in the woods in Silmeria?

It's only 2 minutes long and you can either blaze through it or switch to Software mode to handle it.

But they did fix the vertical lines seen in the cutscenes of VP2. It's just the SkipDraw that needs to be set to 1.

Drakengard/Drag-On Dragoon runs really well now with the SVN build. O:
Fixes the weird face glitch stuff with the sprites in Ar Tonelico 2 as well.

Huh, that's good. Do you think it would work for Tekken Tag Tournament as well?

FYI, the JP version of Tekken Tag Tournament doesn't have the vertical lines and the image quality looks way better than the PAL/US versions in PCSX2 because the JP ver doesn't have the nasty flicker filter which blurs the image.

Tried the gsdx version which allows the hacks and every time I enable MSAA the thing crashes. Things look damn good already so I will live without AA for now.

my specs: i5 750 @ 2.8ghz, Radeon 5670, 8GB RAM
pcsx settings: MTVU on. speed hacks = preset (balanced)

Played xenosaga 3 on DX11 settings at mostly native 2x for about 7 hours. Barring the fps drops in menus (which seem to be a common issue on ATI cards), I get 60fps most of the time, but sometimes in the heavier spots I get dips down to around 45fps. Sometimes I can bring the fps back to 60 by switching back to native res or using DX11 software instead, but I hear people with lower PC specs can run it at 60fps constantly. Would love to hear from anyone who has a better idea for settings.

the 45fps situations wouldnt bother me so much if it didnt affect the sound so much that every character sounds like a retard :)

actually the odd thing is, even when I OC'ed my CPU to 3.8ghz, the fps dont see an increase at all. And I thought my vid card should be more than enough to handle this, or maybe I'm wrong?

I technically have a similar computer to yours or worse (4890) and x3 runs at like...half speed. I can't run it at 3x so I don't even bother.

Check the load of the GPU and see if it's oversaturated in moments of slowdown.

I guess it happens in windowed mode as well. Not a big deal but it is a bit annoying.

Finally got this up and running yesterday. Tried a few games and all work fine except Kingdom Hearts. The top and bottom portions of the title screen remains, once the cinematics starts.

My google-fu is failing me at the moment and the only thing I could find is some dude having the same issue as me at this forum - http://forums.ngemu.com/showthread.php?t=126479

Someone in that thread mentioned turning off texture filtering. I tried that and I'm still having this weird graphical issue. If someone has run into this problem and has an idea on how to fix it. It'd be much appreciated.

PC used with PCSX2 causing graphical error - Intel i5 2500k, Corsair Vengeance 8 GB DD3, Radeon HD 6770, Asrock Z68 extreme3 Gen3, XFX Pro 550w PSU, Windows 7 Professional.

PCSX2 rev 0.9.8

Will try the configurations here, with my settings my games still look like they're played on a ps2. Havent noticed a big leap in graphics like Dolphin.

It works pretty well! Seems the .hack//G.U. title screen accommodates 16:9 even though it doesn't natively support it. Some of the HUD assets and loading screens don't stretch at all while others do.

Zone of the Enders: The 2nd Runner

- PCSX2 0.9.9 R5194, i5-760@3520MHz, GTX680@1084-1150MHz, 1920x1200
- Preset Balanced as template + MTVU
- GSdx 5191 SSE41: Direct3D9, 5x Native, Software Mode Settings Extra rendering threads 3, rest default
- SPU2-X all default
- FXAA enabled

The game used to choke my GTX460. I verified load peaks with Nvidia Inspector. CPU was never maxed in stall moments. It seemed that certain games on PCSX2 are very GPU dependent/limited. Tried ZoE2 again after upgrading to a GTX680 recently and it's able to keep up, very playable with 5x Native.

Do you really need that much horsepower to properly emulate a PS2 game in HD? That's kind of discouraging.

Not at all, you need that much horsepower to emulate Zone of the Enders in HD. Rest is perfectly fine with Sandy/Ivy Bridge and a 2010-11 GPU.

Most games run fine with a mid tier GPU. ZoE2 is a special case, it's very GPU depended with all its transparency and crazy particle FX.

Tried this emulator out for the first time yesterday. Made an iso outta my FFX disc. Everything went better than I expected, although I get some slowdown during battle animations and cutscenes, sound gets weird during attacks and spells, and I encountered this glitch:

Can someone please fiddle around with the first Tekken Tag Tournament and tell me how it does look to him/her? The 1200x2000 res trick removes the vertical lines but the game looks like ass, not sharp at all.

Bah my Memory card save of FF12 IZJS isnt there anymore after not playing for 4~ months :/ Well there are saves, but of like 2 hours back. Is this common at all?

Currently ripping my DQ8 disc to try that one out now

edit: welp nvm... I was using 0.9.8 version and not the 0.9.9 version which had my most recent saves.

Any suggestions on getting KH1 to play in full speed consistently? It's running quite nicely but it has a bit of slowdown every so often. (such as when facing wakka during the tutorial bit at the start where you get asked 3 questions)

My comp has an intel i7 930 @ 2.80GHz (8 CPUs), ~2.8GHz for the record and I'm using the PCSX2 0.9.9.5226 (SVN) build. This is what my video plugin looks like atm:

edit: okay, I think it's working better now, I ended up disabling MSAA (put it at 0) and when I move the camera, the FPS is no longer dipping to the 30s - mid 40s. (though I have gotten some slowdown during in-game cutscenes but not much when I have control)

So seeing this thread got me interested in trying this again... And I'm still having problems I did a long time ago (I'm using the r5331):

1) Can't get the resolution to 1920x 1080
2) Emulator stops working about 20 minutes in and has to shut down. Anyone have any problems like this?

Hey guys, I was thinking of trying to play and patch Final Fantasy XII International and play it in PCSX2, does it have any bugs or need specific settings?

I had some slowdowns during one part of the game early on, too much stuff going on the overworld. But other than that it ran pretty fine for me so far.
