Further to what we talked before, this just popped into feeder:

As many as 2 in 3 three parents fear talking to their children about their weight will lead to them getting an eating disorder. Some believe that discussing the issue will lower their children's self-esteem, while others avoid it even if their offspring are fat, according to a survey. Experts warn that parents are wrongly estimating their children's weight by looking at them rather than making a simple calculation that will show whether they are overweight or obese. The findings come from a survey conducted by the healthy lifestyles organisation Mend (Mind, Exercise, Nutrition ... Do it!) and the Netmums parenting website to mark National Childhood Obesity Week.

Why do I keep coming back to threads like the Troopes vs Women and the ones about Rape ?

=/

Because we're gluttons for punishment? And because the reactions are so damned frustrating. It's so hard to talk about it with guys because they don't constantly have that presence/threat of being viewed as a piece of meat. Many inevitably say, well I'd love to have that kind of attention, or that we're being overly sensitive. -_-

I haven't really dug into the latest threads about that stuff and participated in a while, but I wrote a frustrated post on my FB after reading one of them that my coworkers saw, and cue rape discussion #374 in the office. :p I'm a little burnt out on the subject to be honest.

H.Pro your hair is so long and nice <3 Looks great on you ;3

Aw, thanks, Kisaya. It's getting back to its long-yness after the short cut. Don't think I'll let it get to the butt again, though. Nononono. :)

I don't think I've ever seen the length of your hair... Super long? Super short? Blue?! :D

It's a little shorter than what you have! I usually keep my hair really short, but I'm trying something new and growing it out :3

If you're really curious I can pm you a pic(s) ;)

Why does hair take so long to grow. I've been growing mine for the past 6 months and it's barely at my neck :< any hints?

One time I got a really bad cut and desperately tried to make my hair grow faster.

Nothing help. :<

I know that feel. Bad haircuts seem to linger forever. :(

I'll give these things a shot. Thanks! My hair is just at that awkward stage of being too short to really tie up and too long to smoosh up with wax

The biotin takes time to build up/go into gear, but I did a solid inch each month after the first few weeks of taking it. Give it a 3 month period and I think you'll at least see a very noticeable improvement. The peaches are just my personal belief because for some reason after eating a bunch of them (so they wouldn't go bad in the fridge) I had the best hair growth month ever. Your nails will grow super fast too. It was weird. :)

As for the sleep, well, just get as much as you can. It helps. (You too, Billie!)

AAAH I spilt nail polish remover over myself D: It buuuurns. Does anyone know if stains will come out?

My hair grows too fast! Got my hair cut two weeks ago and already my fringe is getting too long again. You can have some of my hair-growing speed if you like.

Well gurls I'm going to Brusseils till friday, so my GAFtime will be reduced.

And man, I'm going to be exhausted from yesterday till wednesday or something. Worth it, we ARE euro champions again :D

Oh I wish my hair would grow that fast. I'll gladly take that magical hair growing speed. Jealous

My hair grows kinda fast. But I only start noticing it when my fringe gets stuck on my glasses. :T

Do any of you gals dye your hair?

I get demi-permanent color done every few months. Actually have an appointment this Thursday.

Have to get it done regularly because I've been going grey since middle school.

I do. Pretty major dye too. Very light blonde to dark brown. But I'm waiting until late July to get a cut and dye since I want to look nice for a wedding in August.

I always wanted to do some crazy color like Purple .... but sometimes I think my hair is so thin that if I decolorate it it will melt =/

It's been over a year since I colored, and just under a year since I got my last cut, I feel like I'm drowning in my own hair, it's getting so long.

When I was younger I used to mess with it a lot. Lot's of pinks and reds and purples. After I broke up with my high school sweetheart, I went from bum-length hair to super short Natalie Portman ala Professional. My hair has taken many a beating, but it's my favorite accessory. <3

I'm naturally blonde. I've been red, purple, white, pink, brown, and blue. Currently a purply black.

Gotta love GirlGAF knows the value of different hair colors and styles.

Been every normal color but blonde (red for a year and a half, naturally black), as well as some purple. Want to do something crazy for a day like blue or green.

No, I'm too lazy to go to the salon frequently enough to take care of dyed hair.

And as for using the boxed stuff? I can't even muster a steady hand to cut a cake, let alone not drip the stuff all over/stain my face.

Have fun! :D I wish I could go on holidays, may have to ask my guy to book his 5 weeks annual leave from work so we can go somewhere nice!

Yep, I use permanant hair dyes and stay in the reddy browns/auburn or goldene-y lightish brown colour range though. I've never changed my hair colour drastically.

My hair grows pretty fast too. I wouldn't be able to tell if it weren't for my bangs, they grow way too fast!

Dyeing hair sounds expensive. I've gone brown and red in the past, but both times just let it grow out again. Once you do it you really need to keep dyeing the regrowth. A few years back You could buy this really great temporary dye, but it's gone now and I can only find semi and permanent dye. Honestly I'd prefer to go more blonde. My hair is getting darker:(

Most people I know with darker hair like going lighter and I know some with lighter hair that like going darker. I may be one of the only person in my group of friends that likes staying dark.

Lol i get it everywhere. My face, hands, neck. The counter... Always have an old towel and facewasher ready for the inevitable splatter. Cant say i've ever gone to a salon though. Dont see the point

I like brown hair. :)

My hair is naturally black, but I like to lighten it with store bought ash blonde dye (it ends up looking like dark brown). I'm too poor and impatient to get it done at a salon.. I don't want to sit there for hours while they bleach my entire head, haha.

I go to a student salon to get it dyed. It's normally $30, but sometimes they have half-off days that I jump onto. Waiting in the chair does suck, but I just kinda doze :lol

I go to the salon to get it dyed every once in awhile (think the last time was two years ago, actually :/) I usually do touch ups myself. My hair really needs a professional touch next time though.

I haven't been to a salon in ages myself, been thinking about getting my hair cut in layers because I'm kinda bored of my ubber straight long hair. That's why I always curl my hair to make it less boring!

Don't think I'll ever dye my hair, I think my natural color (dark brown) suits me best :)
If I do though it's going to be done at a salon, don't trust myself to mess with my hair heh.

Recently went though for a trim ;P Trying to keep the length though to grow it out.

Get it layered! I have thin hair and it helps with the illusion of fuller hair ^_^;

I also have thin hair and I always get it cut in layers, otherwise it just looks stringy. I had a stylist tell me that if you have really thin hair like mine that a little bit of damage is good because it will add volume. I dyed my hair red, which I love!, and although it did make my hair a bit more course it did add more volume. Also every time I go to a salon the stylist acts like I want my hair curled. However when my sister goes, she has naturally wavy hair, their natural inclination is to straighten her hair. Has anybody noticed this? Hair stylists actively working against your hair? Is that just me being suspicious?

Yeah this is pretty common XD That's the only reason why I would wanna dye my hair... for the volume. I can't really see any other color on me though :/

I've had hair stylists tell me that layering would only make my hair more thin, cause there would be less of it. :( my hair is a little hopeless.

It depends on the cut/style I guess. If anything it'll look more fuller on the top and thinner on the bottom, which is okay with me @_@
