Finally got my GMG key earlier today. I should make some more progress in KH3DS before I ignore it for the next week or two lol.

A bit underhand if true, but really the best solution for everyone. You still get to play with the preorder items even if you bought from a different retailer.

Plus I'm hearing that
they aren't really great and they become useless really quickly anyway. It's more cosmetic than anything

It might come across as a bit of a con but honestly it makes sure everyone gets the same game across the board.

it makes the gamestop/game deal the best one out there as you also get 2 extra side quests.

I'm pretty sure all our pre-order armour sets are all new assets. Also, you're correct, it would make no logical sense to make ANY preorder item too powerful, thus spoiling the balance of the game.

Fair enough. I'm not too fussed over the preorder armoury I just glad I'm getting the extra dungeon and the side quests.

Truth be told though, the highlight of the game for me will be the crucible. Everything else is just icing on the cake.

LOL i've had a few of those heartaches. I live 10 minutes from a Amazon distribution center in northern KY sometimes packages go out of town before coming back to me. But your tracking log is insane...

I noticed the season pass is being advertised already on PSN. It says it gives you a discount on upcoming content, I think it's probably worded poorly. Can anyone clarify?

Edit: I was wrong.

I found this:

This allows free access to day 60 and day 90 DLC as well as something called the Maker's armour and scythe set. "These DLC packs will include significant new single player content," promised the publisher's announcement.

So if that's true, it's probably 2 $15 pieces of DLC for $20, plus the armor and scythe set.

I have the same GPU, an older i7 CPU and half the RAM. No problems whatsoever. Not gloating on your misery, just hinting that maybe it's something worth troubleshooting on your particular setting that is resulting on those issues. As for your question, the game is definitely worth playing. I'm doing it right now until my DS2 disc arrives in the mail.

It appears to be totally random on systems effected by this. My system is totally clean since it is dedicated to gaming. All it has is the o/s games, and drivers on it. I have tried multiple different drivers, and redownloading the game.

So being in the EU I don't really want to wait an extra week to play it. I have a collectors edition key, can I just use a US VPN to activate my key on steam and play on the 14th?

I did a quick search on Darksiders PC crashes and found a possible fix. Try to launch the game through the .exe file instead of the Steam launch. Perhaps you've already tried that though...

Yeah, just keep steam in offline mode til the 21st, if you go back online the game will relock itself.

Hmmm I forgot about that, I did play the original on PS3.... I guess another question is do we know anything about the wii u version? I will be needing games to play on it, just not sure if its worth the wait.

Tried that and copied the darksiders folder from the steam folder to the desktop. This seemed to help with the crashing.

I asked a few times and no one in authority commented. I hope it's mis-worded because a Season Pass only giving a slight discount is just...wrong. Until you hear from THQ or a dev in this thread, take it with a grain of salt.

So people that didn't get the LE have to buy Argul's + Season Pass for all content?

Glad I got the THQ deal, hope the value of the game holds up to justify it. And why hasn't Digital River started shipping my order. :(

Hey, does anybody know if you can change difficulties on the fly with Darksiders 2? It was sort of annoying that DS1 didn't have it.

Season Pass doesn't include all of the content. Just some of it. The pre-order stuff isn't in the Season Pass DLC.

Digital River still says my order is in processing even though I paid for it over a week ago.

Started preloading, 3 days!

That would be nice, I had to start over on Apocalyptic during Darksiders 1, normal just wasn't challenging enough. Will probably start on Apocalyptic here, unless it's been changed to actually be drastically more difficult.

Pre-ordered. :D

This and Dust in the same week...I'm so happy.
This week is bonkers in PAL land. Darsiders II, Sleeping Dogs, New Super Mario Bros 2, Sound Shapes, Papo & Yo and Dust: An Elysian Tail. Videogames are back with a vengeance and I want them all >_<

Most of all I'm incredibly hyped about Darksiders II, though. haven't been this excited about a game's release in a good while.

Yea, DS1 is weird. It ran super smooth for me on my old rig: e8400 stock speed, 6870, 4gb ram and w7 32bit. My new pc: 3750k OC'ed to 4.2, 6870, 8gb ram, and w7 64bit runs the game worse for some reason, lots of weird frame drops.

Yes, you can change the difficulty any time from the options menu, it will warn you that "changing the difficulty setting mid-session will result in being rewarded based on the lowest difficulty setting you've selected", probably mean the loots, and of course it will affect achievements/trophies as well.

Played for two hours last night (PS3), I'll give some first impression. If you like Darksiders 1, I don't think there's anything that would stop you from loving Darksiders 2. Graphics-wise it isn't a big step forward from the first game, but I think DS1 still looks pretty good today and it's perfectly serviceable, the art direction is great if you like DS1 and Joe Mad's stuff. Most importantly the fighting animation/action is smooth and fluid. What I liked most about DS1 was that every attack you land feels great, the visual feedback and the controller rumbles in such a way that you really feel like you're hitting the enemies hard, and that feeling is still in DS2.

I only finished the tutorial level and cleared the first dungeon, there's a lot more platforming section than the first game, feel like I'm playing Prince of Persia sometimes, but the devs said Death is more about agility than brunt force like War so I guess I can go with that.

Secondly, it's a much bigger open world and you have to traverse more grounds to get to your destinations. I'm not entirely sure about this new approach, I'm not far into the game, but it feels very much like Kingdoms of Amalur (just the most recent example I can think of), I know some people like big open landscape, but the environment in DS1 is vast in scope but more tightly designed, which I like more. Though I think the devs probably wanted to open up more space for horse-riding, I dunno, there's always fast travel.

Thirdly, looting plays a much bigger role in this game, I was worried that might change the dynamic of the game (don't know if that's the right word), think back to DS1, every time you're given a new item or gear, you're given a new toy to play with, each item has its purpose, and it changes the way you play the game, it changes the puzzles and the combat, which controls the pacing of the game and keeps things fresh. Now in DS2, open world + looting, that feels very different to the finely controlled/paced experience of DS1 already, you might spend a lot of time grinding and looting in the open world, the story might suffer and lose momentum because of that. But ultimately, it's all down to your personal taste in games of course, you might prefer it this way to how it was in DS1. Thankfully, the loots you pick up are mostly secondary weapons and armors anyway, which shouldn't affect how you play the game too much, you still get your "game-changer" gadgets from the main quest and NPC.

One thing I instantly took a dislike to is the damage indicator. When in combat, the HUD is in full force already, every meter/gauge is on display and the screen is cluttered enough as it is, I really don't need a bunch of numbers popping up every time I hit someone, it's just unnecessary and distracting when all I want is to admire the fighting animation and the enemy design. Fortunately you can switch off the damage indicator. I can understand it might give some satisfaction after you've upgraded your new moves or got a new weapon, you're dying to go and test it out to see the damage "IT'S OVER NINE THOUSAAAAAAAND!!! AWESOME!!!", but I don't need that on display all the time, great to have the option is switch it off.

Please be reminded that I'm still fairly early into the game though, and these first impressions might not apply later in the game.

Just beat the first one. Holy shit, what an ending. Pretty badass!

Yeah, and as much as I'm looking forward to Darksiders 2, I'm disappointed that it's a parallel sequel rather than a chronological sequel.

Apologies if this has been asked before but I pre-loaded on Steam but I'm not sure if it finished because I keep getting a "Missing decrypion key" error. Is this normal?
