Assassin's Creed III & Liberation: New images

acl1711kis.jpg

When I close my eyes and concentrate really hard, this image immediately pops into my mind when I think, "Assassin's Creed."

The Liberation screenshots are especially funny considering the last time we saw the game in motion the animation was... especially lacking.

AA, resolution and motion blur aside, Liberation's visuals are similar to the crocodile-assassination pic.
Dunno about that slave-Aveline jumping pic.

Great bullshots !

The last screen on the right (the young Connor) is interesting.

Could it be the tutorial ?

Bullshots for sure but Liberations is really turning out to be a pleasant surprise. I'm more excited for it than AC3 now.

Oh, looks like Liberation finally has civilian NPCs.

This was confirmed a while ago. You can pick pocket them using the back touch pad or something. From the reports of people who have played it, the cities aren't as densely populated as the console games, but it isn't a ghost town like in Bloodlines.

I'm not sure how janky animation would show itself in stills ... ?

I knew it'd been confirmed, but a lot of gameplay videos we'd seen showed barely anyone in the towns. I'm still not quite sure why there are fewer NPCs, given the Vita's specs I would've figured it wouldn't be too much trouble to populate the streets.

Hopefully. I felt that Ezio's earlier years were underutilised for the opening act of the AC2.

Do I see children in AC3?

...wait did AC2 had kids? It did right?... don't remember if you could kill them or not (by accident)

Jesus Christ Ubisoft, some subtlety in your bullshotting

Yeah, after playing the game in Cologne I got to say this is some high level bullshot retouching. Liberation looks amazing, but nowhere near like this.

I wonder if those screens are really bullshots.

This would be about the time developers learned how to get the most out of the system, and the Vita's a pretty powerful system, right?

edit: to clarify, I'm sure those images are touched up somewhat. I'm just curious as to how much.

Extremely. From texture resolution to the insane amount of AA and motion blur. The game still looks amazing and is probably the best looking game I've played on Vita (even in it's demo state) but it's almost night and day when it comes to these bullshots.

I don't remember any in previous ACs, but even if you do try to kill anyone (aside from baddies) the game just boots you out of the animus, pretty annoying if ask me.
Skyrim also had kids but you couldn't kill or harm them (IIRC)without a mod or similar.

I hate "screenshots" like these. Didn't Ubi used to release proper screenshots instead of this bullshit-- eh, bullshot?

Liberation looks crazy good. Maybe they are working with the same type of asset quality as Assassin's Creed III. Maybe a port to other consoles is coming eventually?

For a company well-known for masterful bullshots, these might be their Da Vincis.

Yes,we need to create a new word to describe what Ubisoft does, because these screenshots are not bullshots are another thing.

If you wait this quality in the game... prepare yourself for disappointment.

Ubisoft: "Look at our game!"

Dennis: "I see children, so are they invulnerable ingame or can I stab them in the neck?"

Ubisoft: "Look at this screenshot from an unplayable cutscene from our game!"

I'm so glad that this generation has brought us flawless image quality. Remember when jaggies were a thing?

Also, is he shooting the right Redcoat while stabbing the left one? They're both bleeding for some reason.

Unkillable npcs > getting booted out of the game if you kill an npc, even by mistake, failing a mission.

Fuck that crap, either let me kill people or don't.

No way the game will look like that on the Vita

Maybe ACII and slash everything by 50% asset/graphics/color/treatment wise and you get Liberation

I think the bullshots look fantastic. But what generation do we have to wait for to get actual ingame graphics that look like this? ANd for that matter, could we just pop in old games and have them look as good? It makes me mad that Ubi can get away with this and fool so many customers. Are there any screenshots available from the AC games where you can mouse-over and see that actual ingame shot? I'm curious to see how gaping the differences are.
