I think PSN has update schedule. Just like the demo. So dont expect the system admin guy to stay late activate this for you at midnight.

PS blog guy said some of these Day1 games are getting midnight releases. But they haven't announced which those will be... said watch the blog for the announcement.

RE6 didn't have the option for pre-order or the PS+ discount, so it seems less likely to be one of the midnight releases, but until they say otherwise, there's still hope.

Fingers crossed.

A friend of mine has the game already. He is too busy to play it. He is not lending it to me either right now. I am irritated.

That's not a friend...

Sounds about right.

Although, I have to wonder whether reviewers can actually tell it's a bad game or if they're trashing it because everybody is trashing it. I still don't trust reviewers ever.

Based on some of the bullshit I've seen in the stream I could easily see a reviewer giving it a 4.5

especially if they have a low tolerance for *minor boss related spoiler*
really tedious boss fights that wear out their welcome

I know I really disliked the game until I managed to play Leon's demo yesterday, very nostalgic to some of the RE4 and older atmosphere. Seems to be scenario-based on that parts are great and what will stink.

I'm giving the Chris demo a shot in 5 minutes, anyone want to join me?

I sent you a FR earlier... I was about to jump on RE5, but if I'm not in a game when you get on, I'll run through the demo with you.

You know what, thank god for all the options they added to the game. Gotta say just for the hell of it i tweaked some settings. Set the camera speed to 2, and aiming down to 4. Then changed to the laser sight. Feels like a different game now. Couldnt put my finger on it but the camera was moving too fast for me. It gave everything a floaty and jerky feeling. The slowed down camera allows me to focus on the environment more and feel like i have more weight. Especially with the guy so close to the screen, it was making for some really jerky pivot action. Slightly slowed aiming helps too. And the laser sight is a total must. Why that isnt the default i have no idea.

Curious if reviewers will even realize this when they feel like something is off.

My good friend from back home just emailed me telling me he's been playing RE6 for the past few days and asking me if I want to play some co-op with him tonight.

...

Why the hell did I move to the US?

Damn it, I really want to pick this up next week. Taking 16 credit hours sucks ass. At least I might be able to pick it up cheaper later on though.

Hey frankman... sorry that was so weird. I don't think it's your mic cause I heard you at first. And I tested mine in the XMB and it seemed fine.

Must have been a server issue or whatever, because the lag during that was horrendous... everything was warping around and guys were falling over like 4 - 5 seconds after I shot them. Just really weird unfortunately.

It is interesting people found solution is slowing down the game's camera. For me, I thought it was too slow to deal with the fast movement.

I think turning off the crosshairs cripples the shooting mechanics, but people seem to enjoy that as well.

And two disks on 360 apparently.

I play default camera speed and bump the aim up to six. classic laser sight and manual hand switching.

Feels good for me. sometimes you need to whip the camera around, and anything less than 5 is too low for me.

What's great is when returning to a checkpoint, you don't have how much ammo you had at the checkpoint, but how much you had when you died.

Slowing down the camera and aiming in Leon's scenario made it feel more familiar and less janky, but then actually playing the scenario in an aggressive, fast-paced, mercenaries mode style was more fun. I managed to have fun in Jake's scenario the same way. The problem now is how incongruous the intended atmosphere is with the style of play that is most fun. It makes me optimistic that I'll be able to find a lot of enjoyment in the game's mechanics, but it's also a bummer that they put all this work into story and atmosphere yet expect you to play it like it's mercenaries mode. If I'm right, though, Chris's and Jake's scenarios will end up feeling more cohesive, and it will actually be Leon's that suffers most.

Of course I could be overinterpreting based on the demo. I'm just glad I'm feeling more optimistic.

Wanna hear a good joke? Waste your time helping me! LOL!
Anyone else think it's kind of dumb that you have to "buy a skill" to play well without a co-op buddy? Seems like a pretty bad bandaid for forcing an AI coop buddy.

When is the embargo up? Still not 100% on this one yet but I did put in a preorder just in case.

8 am pacific on Monday. The 360 version is one game disc, with a separate disc with additional languages.

They low-balled Zelda: Skyward Sword, too, even though other publications and reviewers gave the game stellar scores. I loved the game and found their low score hardly justifiable given the main points of the review.

That is certainly an opinion that a person could have.

How on could that be good? This game encourages offensive ammo burning playstyles. That sounds awful.
I guess I just kinda like being punished for dying lol

Also, if the final game has as much ammo as the demo, it really won't be missed, there was A LOT of ammo.

On the one hand, enemies drop ammo so it probably isn't terrible. On the other hand, it's still a stupid design decision as one could conceivably run out of ammo retrying the same checkpoint over and over.

As I said, considering the full game has as much ammo as the demo, I really can't see anyone running out of ammo. If there isn't that much, then yes, it is a stupid decision.

But can't you go back to main menu and load the game again to get the ammo? If so, I still kinda like it, it would be interesting to see I'm getting out of ammo and can't keep dying lol

But yeah, can't really argue against people saying it's stupid.

One disc? There has to be more on the other disc than just languages. Its just an install disc or can you actually play it?

Not sure what your point is, but I do know that the reviewer of Zelda SS for Gamespot, Tom McShea, is the same guy you mocked on Rebel FM for his Transformers War for Cybertron review which he scored much lower than you did.

Hmmm, tempted to cancel my preorder now after hearing that checkpoint news and possibility of a 4.5. Wouldnt hurt to wait a bit to see if it goes on sale. Probably wont if Dragons Dogma was any indication.
